Master P was taking a gamble by even investing in them because there's a 50/50 chance they will do good or do bad. But people were buying No Limit albums because of the label's clout in 1998, not because of the artists. We liked the artists, but they were brand new artists for the most part who we didn't know. So when we bought Soulja Slim's album or Mac's album or Fiend's album, we had no idea who they were. But because No Limit was one of the few Down South labels and had a lot of clout, people bought everything they put out. Plus they always promoted their CDs inside the cd booklets, and they always had another CD coming out the next month.
