After hearing numerous versions of this aria, I've come to realize that it has gotten a lot faster by the years, the older ones usually have a softer, slower tempo, and you can really feel the longing, which has a more romantic effect But still, she has an amazing voice
@@davidemedici9902they have been doing this with EVERYTHING. I call it the Bartoli effect. They think anything baroque or stile galant has to be super fast. Fast fast fast fast
When I Am Laid in Earth".
She's great. Just discovered her. Heard her last night at the Royal Festival Hall in London, singing Berio's Folk Songs and Ravel's Scheherazade. Absolutely fantastic! Such a thrilling voice.
I did this exact same ornament at the end....in 2000/2001 on an audition tape. Came up with it myself. I was told it was too Rossini-esque. Here it is years later in an actual production.
Beautiful performance!! She surely has a great career ahead of her. But I feel the need to compare her to a performance by von Stade in the same role. It's hard to pin down the differences between the two. In my clumsy way I will only say that I found von Stade's singing to be more nuanced. Marianne is nipping at her heels and I think she will surely equal Flicka soon!
I still think that variations should be used very sparingly in the "da capos" of Mozart's Da Ponte trilogy. What is usually agreeable in a virtuoso opera seria aria sounds forced and counterfeit in these three oh so very human(e) comedies.
We all incarnate a little of each character in every opera. No matter what we wear, we all feel as Cherubino. I think Mozart himself would've loved it.
G'day, Ruben angeles vargas! So would I. It's so strange seeing a male role being sung by a female. Was that the trend at the time "Le Nozze di Figaro" was written? Why?
I'm not sure. Crebassa has a beautiful voice but displays little color variation here (though I like her improvised ornaments - very musical) so there is little sense of vocal acting. On the other hand, I think she over-acts with the body language and makes the character more comic than is appropriate in this scene IMHO. Interesting, but not convincing. She will improve, I hope, with experience - she has the tools.
Beautiful performance but why the stupid out of place modern dress ? I get so tired of the "artsy-fartsy" types who screw-up operas like this because they know so much more than the composer did !
The microphone in the hat is too visible and repulsive. It’s also the reason for the unnatural voice acoustic. The record companies should return to recording through open space.
Terrible! Mozart was spinning in his grave! These modern productions annoy me! Keep your hands off our good old operas! I have no problem with modern productions, but write your own works and do what you like!🤮🤮🤮
Immediate reaction: best Cherubino interpretation ever! Very wow.

Look for the legato when called for
Great 👍.
there is just more sex and less romantic this days :)

Bravo🎉
Her voice is perfect. Beautiful!
That flourish at 1:56! And then the rest! I've been a fan since I watched her incredible Lakmé duet with Devieilhe.
That one is such a joy.
Me too
Marianne is incredible... her tembre and the richness of her voice... i'm infatuated with her vocals ❤❤❤❤
Beautiful ... wow Marianne Crebassa's voice is perfection.
her duets w/ Sabine Devieilhe are great!
Very impressive. Sung and played in a way that captivates and holds interest. Not many achieve that.
Hands-down my favorite Mezzo

Beautifully done by a beautiful young lady.
Brings a tear to my eye beautifully sung
Sublime, merci
PARFAIT , BRAVO BRAVO
Là, l'art est à son apogée
She does the young boy so well!
Gah! Phrasing!
no, she is faking it.
Lovely song 💞
Mademoiselle Marianne it's amazing, I love her tone of voice ❤️💐🍷
Brilliant, bright and effortless!!! LOVE
Beautiful! Heartfelt Mozart piece!
I shiver with delight.
my thighs are quivering
This is one of the most beautiful things i've ever seen.
Beautiful voice.
I like the outfit! Cherubino is just a kid in this one. Interesting direction overall.
Such an amazing version!
Excellent 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏😘😘😘😘😘
Can you imagine a world without Mozart?
I can, but not a world without real boys.
Definitely not! Impossible to imagine a world without him!!
Não há como !!!!!
NO NO NO NO NO
Brava!
Music to my soul
Super, Bravo 👌
Absolutely great! Marianne is spot on!
She looks like Eminem , esp. the knit hat and the pair of blue shorts which obviously is for hip hop singers....
HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHA
its the eyes isnt it?
Eminem??🤣🤣🤣🤣

A bit too fast, but Crebassa is beyond fantastic, as always
1:00 Love Mozart
Wonderful!
Lovely
Me encanta lo pastosa de su voz
Stunning
Fantasztikus !
Notevole
Drab production, good singing
Me sorprendio su voz.Bravo
Maravilhosa voz, um visual diferente!
Terrific voice and acting.
Marianne e perfeita!
Wonderful singing and Nice outfit! ☺️ 🎈
Gawky, insecure, shy...the typical teenage lad....but sung brilliantly (and decorated) by a girl! Wolfgang would have liked the embellishments! Bravo!
que belleza
Genial

Let's speak of Cherubassa from now... 😇
J'ai l'impression de voir Florence Foresti chanter :-)
maintenant que vous le dites :D
@@zwiesland alors vs n'avez JAMAIS ENTENDU FORESTI !!!!!!!
Do I see a mic there? Anyone knows what is it for?
Yes, that's correct. We used microphones to create the best audio recording for this video and a radio broadcast.
Thank you for the explanation! :)
Where can I find the complete Opera from this interpretation?
Very different from other versions seems faster but no less beautiful of this aria.
Is it just me or is this a little faster than normal?
Susana is supposed to be playing guitar accompaniment...?
A royalty gang playing basketball haha!
so fast???

gorgeous Crebassa but music is too fast! dang, slow it down so we can savor her rich voice
Too fast
Just a little bit.
She nailed it so bad to be honest with ya ❤
Her voice is incredible. ❤ I absolutely don't like the clothing and this low budget stage 🙈
Kinda channeling Kate McKinnon’s Justin Bieber.
Micro !!!!!!!!!!!!
...e si' , la commedia e' finita....
I thought that was Dominic Cummings in his Everton dress.
Wonderful singing but terrible outfit!
ah come on. it's fun. ;)

That's modern art.
Lol he’s an awkward teenage boy going thru puberty. Fashion sense doesn’t really factor in. It works
@@adaj472 Yup, but she looks like a smurf :)
I would like to see this character played by a young countertenor. Perhabs in a bit lower tessitura
I believe the ROH had a countertenor in its 2019 production :)

too fast! the tempo is not original from the score!
Someone was in a hurry. Beautiful voice though.
Yes but that purple suit is terrible!! 😂
Why she dressed like a fornite kid tho? 😭😭😭😂
Ridiculous tempo. I guess the conductor has some side chick he's running to after the opera.
