@@cavemanweasel7553 I was going say, cleaning the tape with alcohol is best, because that mildew has spores, so if any gets left behind, it can regrow and way thanks for taking time to make the video
Great video everything proven broken vhs tape itself is fixable with Scotch tape it starts playing again with out no problem's everything proven vhs tapes don't lock up at all like internet does
Everything is proven mode switches in VCR players needs cleaning every now and then y people don't keep there mode switch clean out every now and then it stops playing tapes or sometimes it starts eat tapes everything is proven if people keep there mode switch clean out like they should everything proven people will never have playing problem's or tapes getting eating
I would like to eventually make another video as I have a better method now. This one does work due to the mold falling off as it is rewound and fast forwarded, but there are better ways. Thanks for watching.
I bought a $1,000 dragonball box set and scored it for $50 time to work on 5 tapes manually 😂😂😂 thanks bud worse case scenario, I have to send them back.
Most tapes are fixable! There are other methods of cleaning, too, which require using a second VCR, which I didn't have in the moment. Good luck! Might can even make a dollar if you ever decide to sell.
@Caveman&Weasel sir, I hope you see this message, but I hand rewound it, and cleaned it by hand took a little over four hours, but it definitely worked. I really want to send you some photos of the before and after. Your video really helped me out a lot. Thank you again.
You can usual still open the cartridge without cutting the label, it'll normally jus act like a hinge, may crease it
That's actually a good Idea! Thanks for the suggestion.

Just for added extra, you should clean inside the plastic case and rollers as the mould can be seen on the inside casing
You are 100% correct! Thanks for the input.
Your first rewinder sounds like a Turkey caller lol
@OG_Zero_Cool yea, I ended up tossing that one, lol

I don't get it. It doesn't look like you actually cleaned anything (other than the plastic reel) - just ran the tape back and forth.

Educational. I didn't know this was a thing
Will Water work instead of Alcohol?
Hell no
Better to go with alcohol. It evaporates fast and kills the mold spores.
@elrnieb820 lol ikr.water couse mold
