One huge advantage of owning a Tesla is the supercharger network and how easy it makes road trips along the major roads. I recently followed Tesla Tom's trip to Victoria and SA which was equally as hassle free as yours. I look forward to your return trip. But what I would love to see is a road trip to regional towns where one has to contend with the substandard charger network. Where is the next charging point? Is it vacant, working, vandalised or iced, yada yada. I have had my Model 3 on order since March and am champing at the bit to take it on road trips but the regional towns which are so appealing in themselves do present their own charging challenges. Personally I see that as part of the adventure but would love to read of others similar adventures.
Yeah i know what you mean. I needed to find a charger in Jindabyne and I ended up asking at an information center. Turned out to be a good charger which is free but so much less hassle with the supercharger network
That is a good question thanks, I just had a look at the supercharger website and it does not say the hours of the bathrooms but I assume once the business next to the charger is closed the bathrooms are also inaccessible unfortunately.
Thanks mate! That is a good idea. Might implement that when i edit the return journey. I was stopping between 20 and 30 mins and cost range was between $6 And $18 probably average about $13
Hi mate, nothing apart from the Tesla mobile charger. Only time i didn't use tesla supercharger was in Jindabyne where i used nrma fast charger. Same plug no worries
Nice video! I'm looking to buy a tesla for this specific trip where i need to visit my parents every month. Btw is your tesla the long range model? I'm thinking about just buying the standard model 3 and just make 2 stops. edit: another question, did you purchase the autopilot? Thanks!
Sorry it probably didn't help that i keep cutting in and out of it to speak. You'd probably like the second song better but I'm guessing you didn't get that far
@@falcor1453 Nah mate, first song is an absolute banger! Second wasn't bad either. Enjoyed the video, it's good to actually see some of the superchargers around here. (Most videos are in the US/UK) Got me hyped for my Model 3 LR ✌️(delivery wherever Shanghai gets it built 😮💨)
Love the pumpkins. Great vid 👍🏻

Thanks, so happy for you you will love it! ❤️
Awesome to see another local doing a roadtrip in an EV.
The Great Ocean Road is great fun if you decide to do the trip again.
Thank you, yes great ocean road is on the list for sure!
Did each of the stops have a 24/7 accessible bathroom? Travelling with a 3 year old who needs a frequent stop.

Great video. Do you think at each stop you could throw up on the screen the charge time and cost. Cheers.

I stop every SC, because is my first time drive tesla EV, worry about flat battery.. haha
Haha i'm sure you are not alone! And you get to visit more tesla superchargers 😊
have you had the autopilot turn off previously on highways?
Yes but very rarely. Has only happened maybe 3 or 4 times in my 2.5 years ownership.
hi buddy, what charger did you carry apart from tesla provide cable? Thank you

Oh yes i did purchase FSD too but it was only $7K back then :)
@@falcor1453 Thanks! I put an order for the enhanced autopilot, now the wait begins haha
@@kkgc5760 Great that should get you the good stuff. At least it won't be a 3.5 year wait like my reservation :)
Thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching
I find the suspension absolutely terrible and build quality
How did you find the heat from glass roof?
I'm thinking of buying the y model but not sure.
I didn't notice heat from the roof but it was nice to look up at the sky while the car drove me occasionally
Sorry mate but the music is absolutely horrible. I didn’t get to the end. Just could not stand it.
