I really don't see how calling it the 'Nintendo Switch 2' would cause it to underperform. In my eyes, 'Switch 2' conveys to customers that it's like the system they already own but essentially the next generation of it or a newer and more powerful version of it. Apple and Sony do the same thing with the iPhone and PlayStation; they're new versions of the same thing, plus each new version is a hardware upgrade of a previous version. They can really call it anything as long as they don't do a repeat of the Wii U and make things confusing for customers, but to me, a number can convey a lot more in a tech product than you think, and there's no reason it can't convey a hardware upgrade.

To say that Sony isn't creative is a little misleading despite their main home consoles only having numbers at the end of their names. Nintendo could very well add a synonym at the end of "Nintendo Switch" to differentiate it from the og system much like how Sony does it to differentiates their handhelds and accessories from their home consoles, but assuming the Switch 2 is the next mainline Switch console and not a one-off like a portable-only one, an all-digital one, one with an entirely unique gimmick, etc., I would be more than happy with the name "Nintendo Switch 2". What about Nintendo Attach Switch. The major selling point are extra accessories to attach into, like a screen, VR head-strap, a camera. These can also be wireless used when docked, which goes hand in hand with the hybrid concept to allow even more possibilities. Customer can choose one of the accessories with the console and buy more if they want.
I just wish people understood that the "switch 2" isn't coming out until sales dip below the competition, so long at they are the top sellers they have zero incentive to dust off the completed switch successor, it doesn't matter how much we moan about the graphics if our wallets say otherwise

The idea I got is the Nintendo Keypad. 3Ds had the 3D mode and duel screan, WII U had the remotes. And switch is the removable joy cons. The Nintendo keypad...has Mini keyboards on the sides u can remove them like switch. There's a mouse on the back and...there's a CRAZY SETTINGS app. U can turn on 3D mode from 3ds. If u buy it with in the first month of purchase or Enter a very complex cheat code. Basically u can see the codes for ur game. U can also fly around through walls and look at the codes or unlock stuff that was removed from games. U can also use a blue screan mode if u enter a certain code. The blue screan is like on pc u actually have the screan get blue when you get far away from it. Like that and also it pin points anything with AI. (You can't use Demo mode in ONLINE mode so u can't fly around in online games like Splatoon or luigis mansion scarescraper. Also the launch games should be a 3d Land port. $40 dollars and not $60 Hopefully and mabye a new 3D mario game. This is my idea

After 10 came out, I waited year for a customer to ask me about why there’s no Windows 9 so I could blurt out because Windows 7 8 9. No one ever asked me though! I would even lean heavily on hints, mentioning 8 to 10 over and over.
I once had an idea of a Nintendo successor console using magnets to connect controllers and screens together in many ways (Which ironically is what it is rumored to have) And the name i came up for such a concept is the Nintendo Magnum I love that idea to this day

PlayStation 6? Literally the whole planet knows it’s a next gen console. iPhone 16? Definitely the latest phone.
Wii U? Oh, is that a Wii with a new controller? Sure looks like the Wii on the box. I don’t need that. New 3DS? Looks like the same thing, I already have one. Super Switch? Looks like the Switch to me, I already have that, must be just like the OLED or something. Switch 2? Oh wow! A brand new console? I want that!
Just because you follow gaming, or have wet dreams about “Super Switch” tickling your nostalgia, doesn’t mean it’s a good idea. It won’t do anything except hurt sales, especially for parents and grandparents buying for kids who don’t understand the reference.
“Dad! Can I get a Super Switch?” What’s that? Like a Switch pro? You don’t need that, the Switch is good enough. “Dad, can I get a Switch 2?” Oh, a completely different console? Ok sure.

It doesn't matter what nintendo calls it, this new console will never outperform the switch, the switch sold so well partly because of covid
