- In 2019, Shudder premiered Creepshow, an American horror anthology streaming television series. The series continues the 1982 film of the same name, ignoring the sequels “Creepshow 2” and “Creepshow 3”, and consists of seventeen episodes, each with two horror stories. On September 26, 2019, the series premiered. For aficionados of old-school horror, especially those who adored the original “Creepshow”, there's a lot to enjoy here. Shudder's series keeps the same love for EC Comics, with scene transitions that mirror the paneled layouts and speech bubbles of the old pages, and yes, the Creep himself returns as your esteemed host. We have no choice but to stand him because he's a practical puppet who's fantastic.
All three seasons have been met with immense critical acclaim and it is one of the most highly rated horror anthologies to have ever been made. But today, we’re not here to talk about the stories that the various directors have given to us, instead, we will take a look at the ten most terrifying monsters that the anthology has presented us with. An underrated episode from season one is "The Man in the Suitcase.". That one was fiendishly clever.

One of the three werewolves is actually a quadruped which us awesome. I love how all of the werewolves, including the original who infects them transforms into a unique type of werewolf. Each is an homage to some famous werewolves. One is straight out of the Howling, one is a reference to An American Werewolf in London, and one is basically the Wolfman.
I genuinely love this series because I grew up watching Tales from the Crypt and the 1st 2 Creepshow movies. The 3rd season wasn't the best, but it still had some good segments though.

The best one of the new season was the Quarantine/Demon and the Box/gate,
Especially since Danielle harris was the voice of the librarian.
I liked how in "Bad Wolf Down" they made the soldier's werewolf forms all look different from each other. :)
yeah all of the soldiers were named after werewolf characters like the serial killer eddie quist from the howling.
Bob is quite cute, despide his human killing behavor. What really is mindblowing is, that he was brought to live entirely with practical effects and stop-motion. In fact they use mostly practical effects in that awesome show. I love this TV-Show.

The werewolves were 3 different types. They were representative of the different werewolves portrayed in cinema throughout the years.
Ikr. You had the American Werewolf, the Howling werewolf and the Wolf Man (they should've thrown the Teenage Werewolf in there).

@@gspendlove You mean Teen Wolf. Um, I don't know about that considering the fact that from what it looks like, it's basically more of a Teenage comedy/coming of age story.
@@majorfanboy2005 No, I meant the Teenage Werewolf, referring to the classic 1957 film "I Was a Teenage Werewolf" starring Michael Landon, which is definitely not a comedy. You should check it out if you can find it.

I totally love this show! One of my favorite episodes was the one about the Old Ones from Lovecraftian lore from season 2, and I always thought the Tentacle monster was Cthulhu itself! I also loved the season 3 finale that was an animated episode, amazing!

The reference Old Chief Woodenhead in the series so the second movie wasn't ignored.
I especially liked the animated special the twittering of the circus of the dead.
A horrifying episode which had a bone chilling climax cliffhanger.
I love creepshow and creepshow 2 especially the 1st one. I haven't watched this series yet but I really wanna watch it and can't wait.

The grey matter blob was created from the mold that was growing in the backroom the beer was being stored in. There's a line when the boy if buying the case the store owner complains that the old guy didn't clean it. He claims he did but it keeps coming back. Then we see in the boys story the father drinking a beer from a can with the mold on it.
All of these episodes just seem like direct homages..to either other films, franchises, or authors. I like that.
Champ reminds me of that new Kaiju movie ....Land of Fog, I think it's called? It consists of puppets and marionettes

I caught a couple of episodes of the Creepshow t.v. show and I gotta admit I was surprised they did a t.v. show on it what would be cool is if they did an episode similar or along the lines based on the Crate creature from the first movie.
I always felt like they left that open ended when I was a kid. I was disappointed as hell the first time I watched Creepshow 2 and the crate monster wasn't there. It would be sick to see it again

I don't think this guy realizes who Lovecraft or Cthulhu is. After all, he credited pirates of the Caribbean characters as being the inspiration for their monster when it's obviously a cthulhu/lovecraftian cosmic horror monster. People are dumb.

I like this series a lot, but I do wish they'd adapt more Stephen King stories. Or, reach back in time and adapt some of those horror stories that gave me nightmares as a kid....maybe Bram Stoker's "The Squaw" or Patricia Highsmith's "The Search for Blank Claveringi," Idris Seabright's "The Man Who Sold Rope to the Gnoles," one of Manley Wade Wellman's Silver John stories. They've done all the classic monsters of filmland. Time for some the public's not aware of and have only ever been seen in readers' imaginations.

I had FINALLY got to see seasons 1 through 3 of Creepshow! It was really great 💀🖤! It was my first time seeing it on Shudder! Those new Tales of Terror were new to me but I do love the comic art that is shown on each episode to show that it's a comicbook story like in the movies, Creepshow 1&2! 💀👻😈🎃🔪🕯📖🖤
Would love to see a story called "The Necrocomic-con" where the book is read at (pick your location of choice) comic-con and, due to the variety of quality cos-play costumes, the Deadites can't decide who to possess.

Just waiting on Season 2 and 3 to go to blu-ray. I love this show but it's got a few seasons of content to be created before I go putting it ahead of Monsters and Tales From The Crypt. Probably already better than Masters Of Horror tho.
The Scarecrow was not the villain. The kid’s brother was.
I honestly thought the Krasue was one of the scariest. That sure stuck with me after watching.
Tentacled monster is cthulhu, in his Lore he is known to make those that look upon him go insane.
I saw that episode with the WW2 Werewolves where after they killed the Nazi soldiers they went after they're comrade who left them to die and they found him and killed him the same way they killed the Nazi soldiers even though as far as I can remember they did a flyaway from that scene as we could hear the traitor screaming.

Creepshow is a fun little anthology and the practical effects for the monsters look good. It's like a throwback to what I call the wet rubber look from the 70s and 80s.
Practical Effects >>> Animation. I would love to see more filmmakers adopt the use of practical effects to a greater extent in cinema once again, the authenticity of the creatures sticks far longer and just adds a degree of realism to the scenes.

Dude you forgot the Halloween episode from season 1 where they showed a group of kids going around they're town killing another group of kids one at a time every halloween where it was revealed the said kids were killed in a clubhouse fire by the kids they have been going around killing for revenge and another one you forgot about was the Monkey's Paw episode.

I love creepshow and creepshow 2 especially the 1st one. I haven't watched this series yet but I really wanna watch it and can't wait. I love horror anthology movies and shows like tales from the crypt.

The first one really hits home to me because my dad was an alcoholic.
The Deadites might also inadvertently be mistaken for costumed participants and go unnoticed. I wonder what an ignored Deadite would do?
Within the walls of madness is less 'using a trope,' than it is directly referencing a Lovecraft novel by name :D The monster is a tiny baby Cthulhu, after all

That’s because where the beer came from is not important. It’s origin is arbitrary to the story.

Lizard reptile looking monster? come on man it is clearly a nod to the xenomorph also that great old one has 6 eyes not 3, it has 3 eyes on each side of its face and you can see them in the clip you showed.
A few times it felt like whoever wrote and read the script was not the same person who picked and edited the clips from the show.

I loved the first one and the second one but the 3rd wasn't all good
I must be in a parallel world where no one sees how poor this show is... Reading "it's fabulous" from people growing up watching Tales from the Crypt or the original Creepshow movies gives me... the creeps.
Watching the show was really embarassing : bad acting, lazy directing, poor make ups at time but also lazy on others (I mean, I laughed at the wolves transformations made through lame comics pages! And people are saying it's an hommage to Howling or An American werewolf in London ? Please !)
The scripts are empty, all the endings are sudden and stupid and nothing holds comparison with shows like Tales from the crypt! I mean, the Crypt Keeper is way better than this mute host even though he's more than 30 years older !

I may have to watch season 2 but season 1 was lame as fk besides first episode. So damn boring it made me fall asleep multiple times.
Also, the people reading these scripts seem to be releasing unedited and proofread deliveries. Lots of mispronounced and badly written paragraphs.
