  • Found that the pipe inside the fuel pump pod was not connected properly which was why the fuel pump was not feeding pressure, along with other issues that needed attention.

WOW . . . Thanks a bunch from a Jag Dude in UK. It is a breath of fresh air to see an initial frustration, bordering on despair, bordering on "sod-it . . it ain't worth the effort" actually turned around into a success. These cars a beautiful when they are working . . and royal PITA when they decide not to. I've got a 1988 V12 XJS that stopped starting about 8 years ago. I watched your vid in preparation of what might be yet to come. I'm not hoping to god is wasn't because of fuel pump failure. I don't think it was . . . just died and no crank . . so hoping electrical/points/starter etc. I'm not normally one to prayin' . . but after your vid . . I might be persuaded to before getting to my XJ-S. Cheers from UK Jag Dude

Not yet, but the veneer is sitting on my shelf in the living room staring at me so i don't forget it. Right now the focus has been 100% bodywork on the Brooklands and SL500. Both ae close to completion

Hi - I found your channel from my own thread on Pistonheads where you've contributed. I'm so pleased your car is running again!

Not surprised at all that Vaughn started his own shop. I wish him success. Hopefully he can still be in on some videos and help continue the journey.
Currently dealing with a intermittent no start with two new pumps (one tank, the other a line pump). One was installed a few years ago and failed with almost zero run time and the other failed almost out of the box. Diagnostics are hard enough without bad parts leading you around with no conclusion so I was feeling your frustration.
With this heat you should change your channel name temporarily to nighttime wrenching until the fall starts.

He's a good kid and a real talent, I'm excited for him. We still have plenty of stuff to do together.

I think so. But you'll know because if it isn't , it would be in the trunk

I think that the issue is retrofitting an internal fuel pump in a tank that was designed to have an external one. The earlier cars are much easier to work on. The tank just lives in the trunk.
