I agree with Hazel (comments), it's great to see CB's posts and then yours, different perspectives on similar experiences, thank you so much for this. Please know you have many people watching and appreciating your PCT life-experience.
You guys are so smart for skipping ahead. Not only is it a safer choice, but you'll be able to enjoy the Sierras in all their glory. I saw a video of Thousand Lakes from a couple weeks ago. It was completely covered in snow. That guy is really missing it's real beauty. Enjoy Oregon and Washington and then relish your final miles in the most spectacular scenery on the whole trail!! Great plan!
Not a bad choice. I just hope that you do get back to the Sierra. It is absolutely the most beautiful place I have ever hiked, of course that was later in the year when the stream crossings are tame and the snow is no longer covering the trail.
Your decision to hike the Tahoe to Belden leg later is probably a good one since a lot of that area you would be hiking would be ass deep in real snow not that little patch stuff that freaked those people you caught up to to cramp up.
In all these trail videoes; I haven't seen One paper Map OR Compass. Does anyone know how to use them? Or do you just carry a ton of batteries? Guess I should buy some stocks in Duracell. Enjoy your hike Juliana, you'll remember this the rest of your life. (No more bread pillows Please.- Bears can bite your head clean off & Mice can give you Hantavirus, even in Wa. St.) Happy Trails.....:-)
N.A. Annon most of us started with paper maps and we each have a compass on us, however there's a phone app called Guthooks that has really great maps of the trail that can tell us exactly how far we are from water, tent sites, dirt roads, etc. that's incredibly accurate.. it will also show where you are in relation to the trail if you lose the trail (happened a lot walking on snow), and you can re-find the trail really easily with it.. I carried both for a while, but the app is just so useful, so every time I get the paper maps in my resupply boxes they just end up in a hiker box
Juliana.... PLEASE speak louder or get closer to the mic on your camera. YOu have a lovely soft voice and its difficult to hear you at times. Love the videos... just like to hear what you're saying, LOL
At 01:13 why would you call that guy a looser? He appeared to be just sitting there doing his own thing, as you were. Did we miss something that happened off camera? It just seemed out of place and immature? rude?(struggling to find the right word) I guess that stuff happens all the time in the synthetic world just never experienced it on the trail or in other videos I have watched. Not even sure why its bothering me so much. with all the other great footage in this video it seems that 4sec. is what I am taking with me. I guess this is my struggle was only curious.
Rowdy Hunt that was chocolate balls... he was sitting at the counter instead of with us because he got their early, so we taunted him to come sit with us... I'm not calling strangers losers, our group makes jokes like that with each other constantly
I understand thank you for your reply. I was hoping it was something like that. I have been watching your videos hope you have a great experience and a safe trek. Remember to keep looking up you have already seen your feet. lol

You all have a great family vibe. Keep the peace.
smelling the bread pillow 😂 so funny
Incredibly fast... when did you leave Campo? Or do you hike 40 miles/day or even faster?
Its always best to stick with your friends😉California is not going anywhere.

bread as a pillow...in bear territory...
the bears have a gluten allergy

enjoyed your video
No videos through the Sierra Nevada? I can't find them.
Yeah, bread 🍞 pillow is funny but maybe not such a good idea in bear country...or mouse country for that matter...
