Bellamy wrote this song for his son in the womb. The heartbeat in the beginning of the song is actually his son's heartbeat picked up at one of the ultrasounds. Thought I'd share this song's story :) It's pretty awesome.

Interesting. I am a father, and considering it was sung about/to his son, I can fully relate. The protective nature of the lyrics just resonate with me. So to me, the lyrics are just perfect, but each to their own!

The Second Law is one of their best albums though.
I saw them live a few days ago, and I can tell you, Muse are still here and always were. And they haven't changed their style. I don't see why you would dislike those songs if you liked the previous ones...

This isn't dubstep, it's just Muse, yes, there's a change in their music style like in the past albums, but that's it, they're still Muse, they are not changing, they are evolving with music and time.

This is definitely one of my favorites by them. And definitely the best of The Second Law.
My father passed away back in August of 2022 and every time I hear this song, I hear my own father in this song. I understand the backstory of this song, and I find it strangely beautiful the irony behind it for what's happened in my life and what this song means. I never will say no to this song if I hear it come up.

The 'Be brave' nails it
I LOVE Muse and all. Don't get me wrong. However, I only like this song because Nero produced. Nothing about Muse is actually what causes this song to be good. If you want to hear a great song on this album by them, check out Animals. By far, that song truly describes what Muse's music sounds like. This album is by far NO WHERE NEAR as good as Showbiz, Origin of Symmetry, Absolution, nor even their b-side soundtrack to Hullabaloo. From their first recordings of songs to Black Holes and Revelations is when their music was truly shown as greatness. With this song, they only prove one thing: They trying too hard to be mainstream. And that's why I stick mostly with their old music. The originals were much much better.

Electronic music is a bandwagon genre nowadays, with a lot of bands trying to find in it something to sound special, but the sheer amount of songs produced almost exclusively with computer-generated sounds most often gives the electric genre a stale sound. Bass drops and driving synth sounds were cool when they were unique, but now that they've become so common, there's not much special to them anymore.
***** You could say exactly the same thing with rock music. Synth can have very good tunes and sounds to it, and so can rock music. And rock used to be unpopular by the 'veterans' back some decades ago. Exactly the same is happening with dubstep and electro generes today.
