The J is my favorite fallen flag. I still remember in late 2010 seeing one of their J Ball locomotives in Cedar Rapids for the first time. I wish they had gotten to Cedar Rapids more often before CN started repatching them.
yea, I have a couple more videos from the past couple of months that I would like to post but have not been able to find the time. Thanks everybody for the nice comments!
Yep, Long West (N-21) returning. They had a 45 car pick-up in West Chicago were the great Union Pacific just left cars all over their yard and the J's Yard mixed in with cars that needed to stay in WC, it took them nearly two hours to get it all straighten out.
The paint scheme, The lead unit (662) is a J ball locomotive it has an orange nose with a green ball with the letter J in it, the other paint scheme is an orange nose with white warning stripes.
People may miss the 'J', but most don't know they've been bankrupt for more than 13 years before CN bought them out. They must have gone down because industry has gone down. Check out the number of trains on the UP Harvard, UP Belvidere, CP Milwaukee, UP Milwaukee, and UP Kenosha subs to check out the industry of today. Quite a difference of what they were decades ago. Yet the CN gets all the attention. The "J" technically still lives on, but just under a different name.
nope, I am anti-flickr movies, sorry, just think flickr should stay the way it was designed, for pictures. Plus 90 sec is not long enough for a good train video.
THAT'S WHAT I MISS!!!!! Love that diamond clatter also.
I miss the J!!! Nice work!
Awesome video, thanks for film the complete train with all the 95 cars, great job!!!!
Thanks, it really made my day seeing a J, especially 662 and even more N-21 in daylight hours.

Seems to happen pretty often. Not to sure what the WRS1 has on it right now, but I guess it could be 300 or 301.

That looks like the long East train.
There's 3, counting 703.

dude, I know its heading south but on the J they actually call it east. I know my directions.
Michael Quagliano Every railroad has used east and west. They have never used North and South
