I was under the impression that when the start switch is disengaged that circuit and resistor is not in engaged any longer?

I installed a new resistor to my A-100 The run motor still wont run. Is there a wrong way to install the resistor?

I had the Drop Resister side of the Run Switch Fail and the Start Motor wouldn't Rotate Up to Start Speed. I had the Resistor Smoking Trying to Start the Motor and hadn't yet thought about Jumpering the Resistor. Figuring this out solved the problem.
This happened on a Similar Vintage Organ, Probably a C-2 Serial Plate missing, in a Bill Beer cabinet with the slightly smaller Delay Line, but with "Ratchet" Drawbars.

I am so happy I stumbled on this video. I am kind of having the opposite problem, I just purchased a CV console that hasn't been running and decades. After adding oil and being patient, where I am at now is when I hit my start switch my tone generator spins although making a lot of noise and I don't think it's coming up to proper speed, when I hit my run switch everything just seems to fizzle out. Now I noticed when you hit your run switch by itself I was hearing a hum. When I hit my run switch I am getting absolutely nothing. Do you have any ideas of what my problem maybe and is there a way of troubleshooting if my run motor is bad I noticed you were messing with that resistor, when I placed my voltmeter across that resistor I think I was getting straight continuity. Anyway any help would be greatly appreciated I am dying to get this thing running

Hey, you fixed the atrocious video quality! You should have posted a tutorial of how you did THAT!!! But seriously, JD, fantastic job. Put up a few more like this and you'll be out of bidness.

+organfreak , I had to convert the video prior to uploading to UA-cam and I discovered that the resolution was way too low after the conversion. I'm going to try for HD soon. Why don't you post some vids of playing organ bass?
