Temporal Forces, the newest Main Series Pokemon Card Set is scheduled to release on Friday March 22nd, and already a lot of buzz is going on about Temporal Forces Pull Rates. While it used to be fairly simple to Pull Hyper Rare Pokemon Cards and Special Illustration Rare Pokemon Cards, it seems like Pokemon has changed their Pull Rates as Scarlet and Violet has continued making it harder and harder to complete a Pokemon Card Master Set.
While the jury is still out on Pull Rates, one thing that has for sure changed is the Temporal Forces Booster Bundle. Unlike Temporal Forces Elite Trainer Boxes, booster bundles contain only 6 Pokemon Card Booster Packs without any filler. Much more similar to a smaller Temporal Forces Booster Box. The new layout and look may be more appealing to the eye, but do these produce the same luck as other Temporal Forces Products? Let's talk a look!

I was really looking forward to Temporal Forces' release. The set has some of my favorite artworks of the SV era so far including on just C/UC cards (Golurk, Shaymin, Victini to name a few) but the opening experience has really soured my opinion. I thought at the very least that this set would match the pull rates of Paradox with hitting what felt like either 1 SIR or hyper rare per booster box. That felt like an appropriate balance to me. Rare enough that it felt like you hit big when you got one, but not so hard to get that you need to break the bank. I'm not a fan at all that TEF has seemingly taken yet another step backwards.
I've opened 4 BB so far and although I got exactly 14 hits out of each, I only got 1 SIR total out of all 4. Its quite interesting to me that with pull rates like this the preorder prices of the huge hitter cards aren't higher. I thought there'd be at least 1 or 2 that were over the $100 mark. Either way, probably not going to be opening much more if any of this set for a good while. On one hand, its nice to have a little break to focus on filling out my collection of other sets, but I really would have loved TEF to have been a better opening experience too.

The hangers make sense, but I like the other boxes, I use them all as cheap deck boxes for all my random decks I make and have sitting around
TPCI are useless. Zero quality control and not getting better and now creating even more packaging waste. Such a terrible company.
That’s disappointing, my kid likes those old style booster boxes to carry her cards around. They were great holding sleeved cards too.

Honestly i wonder if the changed the box look because it looked so similar to the build n battles, at a card store i work at people get them confused so easily.
I actually saw the crown zenith bundles that looked like these at Walmart. I grabbed the 2 they had left and they scanned at self checkout for $5 each! Somebody messed up 😂

Glad to be skipping this set from opening. Will just buy singles. I am not wasting my money opening packs. Pokeco can suck my deek and milk deez nutz instead.

The only positive that came out of the production of the S/V set is that the prices of the singles in these sets has become affordable to buy singles of. I've found that waiting a few weeks, I can just buy the 5-6 hits I really want for ym collection still lower than the price of the booster box
I always thought the booster bundles were perfect size. It looks like 3 times the size now.
That's a shame pull rates seem nerfed.

I have noticed that from the boosters ive opened you either get the crappy booster more than likely that comes with 2 full art pokemon and 1 full art trainer or you get the good booster box sometimes that comes with 1 gold card and 2 full art pokemon and 1 sar card
the only reason i can think for the change is for shipping but i hate those new boxes. i liked how you could use the old boxes to store cards.
Yes!! Part of the allure for me was the self-storage. Not a fan of the change!
Good video! Looks like the new packaging holds the packs in place a bit better, though I could be wrong. Could be a possible reasoning to change packaging
Not thrilled about the pull rates, already feel like the packs are expensive enough and the sets are so frequent. Struggling to get involved with the SV era
these bundles look to be in the same style as the walmart crown zenith bundles
Its probably just to make people think bigger box = more packs, or to differentiate booster bundle/build and battle.
Hey phanny, long time follower, new chatter. Fellow LGS owner here and the reason they changed it in my opinion is because they looked so similar to build and battles. Thats always one of the questions i get asked in store when people see my build and battle kits they ask me if they are booster bundles. Maybe changing the shape was to give it a unique product identity. Hope this helps, keep up the awesome work my man!
But didn't they not do a build box for Temporal Forces? That makes sense as incan see why some would get confused but if they aren't doing those anyways why change it now?
Some people mentioned the size change might be to help reduce shrink in stores. Not sure if it's true
I don’t get why Pokemon had to add more packaging to only 6 booster packs . The small booster bundle was so perfect
They didn't want to give us free deck boxes
So they decided to make these booster bundles trashy looking.
Now you get your boosters, but can't use it for a deck box.
Idk if it's all over, just in Canada or just at my walmart, but they have all ETBs on for $60 CAD. I picked up 2 Paldea Evolved ETBs to put away for a rainy day. :3
Hard for master collectors but it’s nice for the poketraders keeps the market alive I think they might do that with the next few iteration’s going forward for this reason. Tbh the scarlet and violet series we’ve had it kind of easy with what you can pull…I think it’s just swings and roundabouts
wow. pull rates look to be a little better than 1 hit in every 3 packs but a bit of a bummer to see more towards the regular ex. My son got pretty lucky and pulled the Gouging Fire SIR at the pre-release

Are these booster bundles comparable in pricing? Kind of silly to change to trash only packaging when previous could still be used as a cheap deckbox.

What do you mean by master set? Do you mean all reverses holos and rares etc or just the base cards?
The low pull-rates of this set are definitely a let down. I've heard from multiple people opening multiple cases of BB that SIRs and Hyper Rares are significantly more rare in this set compared to the last. I completely agree that Paradox Rift felt like a better middle-ground for pull-rates.
Personnaly, I will buy 2 ETBs and then just go after singles. Not going to jump onto many sealed products this time around. Just wish Pokemon wouldn’t release set after set. Perhaps take a little bit of time between releases. Haven’t even recovered from 151.

Hi! New to pokemon cards but i was thinking to start collecting some cards. I'm living in Iceland and so far i could find only Temporal Forces and Paldean Fates. Witch one would you recommend i should start with or to wait for a new collection? Much appreciate it!

I have 8 of the CZ bundles that are the same size. Due to CZ not having a booster box I think of 6 of these as close to a BB as possible.
So I opened two booster box cases (12 boxes total). Missing 5 for a master set.

I love the old style booster bundles. I put bulk in those and then put the bundles in an etb when I sell my bulk. What the heck pokemon!
My box was really good in terms of quality and quantity but I didn’t get any of my chases unfortunately. I got an SAR walking Wake, gold iron boulder, hero’s cape & reboot pod ace specs, full art Gengar & full art Eri. For IRs I got bronzor, cinccino & Reuniclus and 6 regular art EXs. There are definitely good boxes out there but of course it’s always a gamble.
They save on the shipping? Could be one of the reasons.
I open a case of booster boxes only 1 sir out of a case seeing a lot of other people get the same while opening
I rip 648 temporal forces packs, total of 3 cases booster box. There was a total of 4 sir hit. This set will be hard to master.

Oof that seems really low. I thought me pulling 3 sirs out of a case was bad but 4 in 3 cases is just a money waste.

I hope the deerling / sawbuck combo art work is a strong indicator of a return to the Legendary card combos like Raikiu and Suicune from 2010s!

It's strange because usually they try and shrink down how much cardboard and stuff they use it seems but they went backwards here
I opened two booster boxes and pulled the Bianca sir, raging bolt sir, gastly ir, litten ir. those where my favorite pulls and the gastly and litten are my most wanted ir cards so I was super happy about that! guess I got lucky getting sir in both my booster boxes. I pulled a bunch of other stuff but that was my highlights for my taste!
Pokemon increased the price of their products and made the pull rate harder. My local Target is filled to the brim with hardly anyone touching them anymore.
I opened my first booster box the other day and got 2 illustrations, 2 full arts, 1 Ace a bunch of regular exs' and no special illustrations! This is definitely going to be a very rough set.😅

Wow, that was kinda rough. I bought a single pack of Cyber Justice and ended up getting an Ace Spec (the one that looks like a gas pump).
i fully expect the value of this set to drop but slowly climb 151 handled the market pretty well tough set to beat
I skipped Paldean Fates with the plan to attack Temporal Forces. I guess I need to take a pause for a bit and see where everything is at. Sort of glad I didn’t preorder yet.

maybe it was changed due to the shipping costs. i imagine now its cheaper to ship.
Thats crazy that they've changed the pull rates on these openings honestly. Not only makes it harder for children and and young adults it just ruins the fun of the low pull rates honestly. For the people starting to look at these cards they can def look for singles instead of getting booster packs.
As amazing as the cards look id def prefer getting singles for this. Anyways pretty awesome opening man.

Prices going up and pull rates going down doesn't make sense. I think that paradox rift was much closer to perfect pull rates. The first few SV sets over did it but paradox was almost 1 SIR per booster box which I thought was a good balance. Bad pull rates doesn't even make it better for collectors if the cards aren't desirable. The cards are beautiful but so far the real bangers have been newer gen pokemon and therefore less desirable overall. Bad pull rates on less desirable sets just means bad sales for storefronts. I love ripping packs of any set but I'm going to keep a lot more of my stuff sealed and buy singles.
This set is going to be tough but I still think the price of singles will be similar to paradox.

Honestly I would’ve been a little ticked that no SIR was pulled in all those packs but that’s the game I guess. Buying all the singles in like 3 months for sure
Need the trainer cards over the Pokémon for temporal forces the Salvatore cards is sick mortys conviction good too
The bundles are limited to 25 on pokemon centre. Assume this design change means anyone ordering 25 in future will just receive a full case. Rather than lose bundles

Id imagine they changed the packaging so vendors had more options, the bundles would end up all over the place
I love collecting. Just started last year and have s&v base set mastered and 151 just missing Blastoise and Venasaur SIR to master. I have been also trying to keep up with all s&v promos but am missing a few. Bad news is I have fallen on hard times and might have to sell my collection. I wish I could at least win this Master set and keep my shiny mew from PF that I will never get rid of that would be AMAZING. love your content and wish everyone the best!

Problem is they're over printing now when there's not as much demand imo. When that happens, the quality control is bound to suffer.

I dont understand how anyone who is a legitimate collector could want hits to be rarer. The only logical reason for that is you want to sell the cards. It makes no sense and its really frustrating. At this rate by the next set it will be one SIR per case
My theory on booster bundles has always been: a booster box divvied into 6 packages of 6. So, to me, it made sense that after opening 6 bundles, the number of hits was basically the same as a booster box. I can't speak to the quality aspect of it, but this video shows -- like everything else Pokemon -- booster bundles are a roll of the dice.
When it comes down to it, all packs from any one set have equal pull rates. The only reason people think booster boxes are more consistent with pull rates is because booster boxes have the most packs for any single sealed item making pull rates feel more consistent.
Danny, If the pull rates arn't any better than that I might skip out of this set. Still trying to collect all of 151.

I believe the new packaging is to keep the packs from bouncing around damaging the cards people complaining about quality control

Love the set coz my boys Totodile line only thing that could be better is if they get SIR in an upcoming set
