Salt the Earth & Light the World

Jesus calls His followers to be the salt of the earth and the light of the world. Salt preserves and enhances, while light illuminates and guides. As Christians, we are meant to preserve the values of God’s kingdom and reflect His truth in a dark world. Jesus challenges us not to lose our effectiveness by blending in or hiding our faith. Instead, we are to live boldly, influencing others by our words and actions so that they see God’s goodness and are drawn to Him.

Matthew 5:13 NIV13 “You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot.
Do I have a Preserving Presence?
The Light of the Christian exists to illuminate God
Matthew 5:14-16 NIV14 “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.
Is the Light of my Life Visible?
Now What?
1. Get Salty. Preserve goodness by staying close to Jesus daily, add flavor, bring truth and righteousness wherever you go.
2. Flip the Switch. Don’t hide your faith-live it out boldly. Pray for opportunity
