31st December 2021, I undertook a voyage into the inner sanctum of football memories. This video relays my first encounter with the Iconic African Cup of Nations tournament, my most cherished moments and a preview of AFCON 2021 that went on to be held a few weeks later. Technically this video is over 3 years old and has been hiding on my vault. Thought I share it and hope you enjoy it.

Cameroon vs Nigeria in Ghana/Nigeria 2000 goes down as the best AFCON final match to date. Somehow the number of big name stars in AFCON keep dwindling compared to the 90s and early 2000s. Cote d'Ivoire 2023 somehow brought lots of fanfare and renewed interest. CAF need to find a way to make the stadia full during games as its only the host country games that brings the numbers (maybe due to Africa's economy). The lighting at night games at the various stadia in Egypt 2019, Cameroon 2021 and Cote D'Ivoire 2023 were so poor. It made picture and video quality dim and blurred, I dont know if I am the only one noticing such. Overall, AFCON brings the average AFRICAN football fan joy and from the style of football on offer, any team can actually be champions.
