I love my hatchback I have a Ford fiesta I bought it when my bronco broke down and I needed something to drive while my bronco was down after my bronco was fixed I kept the fiesta as my daily driver and I love it I love everything about it

Thanks mates. I quite like Hatchbacks now but having a separate cargo cover to conceal smaller options is a must. So long as the car offers that option at an affordable price, the Hatchback is a winner.

Was this comparison mainly focused on practicality, as in transportation versatility? Because you should factor in: 1) Sedans (cars) are usually way more comfortable for PEOPLE to ride in, 2) in the event of a maneuver, a sedan or similar car with a low point of gravity will handle much better and the risk of tipping over is a lot smaller.
I wonder why are hatchbacks almost always shorter than their sedan counterparts. I do remember one Corolla Hatchback review where the reviewer mentions that the rear seats are cramped, in contrast to the sedan where legroom are one of its strongest points in the compact car segment.
I guess a better question would be is. Why the car makes feel like they need to make the hatchback shorter.

What limits car makers from making hatchbacks but with the boot capacity of sedans?

@@AsadoMao Liftbacks used to be far more popular, where you had a car the size and shape of a sedan but with a fully hinged rear door.

Sedan is the safest but the least practical. Hatchbacks and SUV are practical but safety is compromised.

I saw a news dashcam video in which an older compact sedan clippped a large newer luxury SUV (Escalade) from behind on a highway and the SUV lost control and rolled over. The compact car was fine and just kept going!
The front of the car is the heaviest point of the car, and the rear is the lightest... so obviously the suv would go spinning. If you are on a motorcycle, you can even kick the rear end of a car (on the side) and the car could spin.
If the SUV was to be in a head on collisions with a smaller car however... you would certainly not want to be in a smaller car.

No they are not. Sedans are dirt cheap now since people are not buying them as much as hatchbacks.

Traditional CARS are fundamentally a bad design! They have lower clearance and less cargo capacity to start.... They are not as practical a design for everyday mobility needs like an SUV or Crossover. SUV'S/CROSSOVER'S are by far better! Ex: SUV's have easier ingress & egress. Far more practical for all season's and terrains. SUV's have more cargo space (*That's a better use of a models design footprint). And you can easily tow trailers with an SUV also. Cars are best used as toys... convertibles or race cars.
