im 48 got a mortgage, health issues, sick parents to take care of..but on a friday or saturday night..i listen to this and i feel like i am 12 and carefree again! Always keep your inner child alive..its the only time you are ever truly happy in this world!
I just got goosebumps and choked up. God I loved this movie so much growing up. The soundtrack is one of the reasons that 80s music will forever hold a place in my heart.
I watched it last night and realized the same. Man that was a long opening credit scene with dogs and Frisbees. One would think the movie was about that. Maybe a metaphor for humans' fascination with flying saucers....?
@@Atreus21 By god I think you have actually cracked it, loved this movie but I actually didn't even see the connection there, literally opens with visuals of "catching flying saucers" and that is what the rest of the film is about. Genius.
@Samuel Serridge haha. Shrug. It's entirely possible they just said, "hey know what's cool? Dogs in slow mo chasing Frisbees! Let's open the movie with that."
@@Atreus21 It establishes the tone perfectly, sure its about aliens but here are some dogs catching frisbees your 10 year old doesn't have anything to worry about.
To this day one of the only movies to get time travel right. Kid goes 10 years into the future and finds out he was missing for 10 years. Unlike Back to the Future II when Marty and Jennifer go to the future and find themselves there with kids.
I used to and still do, love the beginning of this movie; simply for that mysterious UFO* moving overhead. Have a real depth of suspense realism of those (such as me) whom witnessed very low, slow ET craft.
I first recorded this movie in 2 parts on the biggest VHS recorder you have ever seen. It's HUGE!! It up in the attic somewhere. It cost 1000.00 back then. It showed on the WOnderful World Of Disney, on a Sunday night. I fell in LOve with the music and the movie. Our kids were small. but they loved it and we still watch it and listen to to sound track to this day. They are all in their 30's . Timeless !
I absolutely love Flight of the Navigator what a FANTASTIC movie 🎬 totally timeless & Joey Cramer was thee ONLY child actor that could play David Scott Freeman FOTN just brilliant in every single way!!! The music 2 this film was brilliant as well very catchy!! 😄😄😄😄👍👍😉😉
@@one-bell LOL! Most of the soundtrack was performed on a Synclavier, very sophisticated computerized synth workstation. NASA actually used the ABLE (custom made real-time computer) from Synclavier for analysis of signals from Galileo spacecraft!
The interesting thing about this score is that it sounds virtually nothing like what Alan usually does. He nornally goes firmly down the orchestral route, but here, he utilized a Synclavlier and other retro synthesizers. Either way, it's totally radical.
This music it's amazing i know alan silvestri did the soundtrack but this sounds different than alan's other music from different movies but i still love this and i always hum the song 0:43 and i imagine a pokemon movie with the same song.
Anybody know what drum machine this is AND the other instrument synths as well?? ( same question for the "robot romp" track ).... gotta get that sound!!! ( I guess I'm wishing & dreaming & looking for an easy answer like "oh yeah just get an Oberheim DMX or MXR drum machine & for the synth pads, just use these specific patches on a DX7" )
I guess first and foremost is the fact my channel isn't monetized. As long as you include the right acknowledgements that what you are posting is strictly for entertainment and not for profit, *most* big labels will leave you alone. ~ Then again, the algorithms can also just be randomly fickle. My old Tron: Legacy vid is blocked from play overseas and there's nothing I could do about it.
@@dynaztycrashdiet Did Alan Silvestri score Back To The Future trilogy. His scored like John Williams like music but I think he'll scored our QVC Adventure but we still have John Williams.
@@jimhults4916 Yes he scored all 3 Back to the Future Films. He also scored The Delta Force, Predator 1 & 2, & The Abyss. He is certainly one of the great composer's.
@@jimhults4916: Alas, the great of greats, Jerry Goldsmith, isn't with us any longer. I'm glad that Silvestri has experienced a Renaissance through the 2010s with Marvel and the like. His Captain America anthem was splendid.

The perfect driving music for those weekend trips to planet Phaelon.
well, its such a short track cos it was made for a 2 minute intro. For its own sake it could do with 3~4 escalating verses.
80s music had a way of making everything feel great.....

music, tv, clothes, movies. THE BEST!!!
The longest dog/frisbee scene in history!!!!

its actually 8 years into the future think you need to watch the movie again

DUDE!!! That 80s synth and beat. Nothing like it!!
That synth cowbell hits so hard, even 37 years later. God bless the 80's.

Bruiser!!! Here Bruiser!!!!!
I recall hearing that the dogs in the opening sequence were winners of some national dog Frisbee competition.
Amazing soundtrack to an amazing film, thanks for the upload. 😀😀
oh the memories.... thank you for the upload
The actor playing the kid totally went off the rails as an adult. Ended up doing time in jail for trafficking narcotics and robbing a bank.
MeestaDave he’s good now
@@TrevJericho that's good to hear!
Looks like Dr. Faraday and 5 NASA security guards disliked the music.
Lay off the twinkis
Slo-mo doggo

Retrowave before retrowave...Silvestri made some bangers on this one!
Pardon me coming through
The hook where the bassline climbs and the melody falls. Simple and Sublime. Silverstri is a master.
Yeah that one of my favourite hooks from any song
The most 80s intro.
