RM always pushing the envelope with astetics and engineering and a price most cannot afford and must admire from the stands. How many pieces will they produce? Thanx Tim for the tour.
Great feature, as always. [TL;DR: Just respect the brand for what it is instead of hating] What I'm trying to understand is-- people understand that there's actually a market for this right? I don't get all the hate and saltiness. Chances are, those who can afford RMs already have the patek celestials and ALS triple splits of the world.. I think that those who start looking into RM have also extensively looked at PP, AP, VC, ALS, DB, FPJ, PD, GF, whatever. So it definitely diversifies the collection. Do ALL of these people look at RM? Of course not, but some do. and that's enough for the brand. Not that RM is last pick either -- it just depends on a person's style. I get the whole idea that RM pieces CAN be more refined at this price point, but I think it's primarily because people have a preconceived notion of what a "luxury watch" is (precious metal, not ostentatious, etc etc). End of the day, it's all a matter of personal preference. You can hate on a piece if you feel THAT strongly about it-- sure, it's a free internet space. I just personally don't think it warrants as much hate as it does, especially from people who haven't even studied the brand and the industry as a whole. I initially hated the RM designs tbh (I still don't like some), but after learning about the brand and the tech just a bit more, I can actually respect and appreciate what the brand has done. Is this enough to make the brand live forever? Maybe, maybe not. But the brand does have a stable following it seems. In any case, the fact that its pieces are SO polarizing is quite interesting. Would I get an RM if I could afford it? Of course.. but get me a jumbo and an LMperp first lol /dream (Moreover, it'd be nice for someone to support / refute this guess of mine: the percentage of people who HATE on RM but can't afford it is way higher than the people who hate on RM but can afford it. TIA)
What's DB PD GF? Also for PP AP VC ALS FPJ you meant Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet, Vacheron Constantin, A. Lange & Söhne, F.P. Journe? What's DB PD GF?
Think I found my new workout watch. Jesus 900,000$. Would you take 70+ new steel Rolexs or this? 15+ new Pateks or this. A small exotic sports car collection, a nice house and $100,000 for some watches of your choosing or this. Nice video, I just don’t get it.
No! Marked up by a ridiculously high percentage. Even when I have the money to buy one, I won’t. Base on principal. That watch is worth $100k tops. Too small to have $900k worth of precious metals plus workmanship. That’s just Vanity to the extreme. Lol 😂 The ultra rich buy these watches to impress people whom many are fake and not true friends, that’s what it boils down to.
@@razorraysolarsavings70 I mean, to be fair (and I'm a Lange guy at heart)... this thing is suspended by micro cables and can take major abuse. Say what you will about the shape/hype/etc, but, this would not be cheap to recreate on this level. AT ALL. Everyone here might want to spend their 900k elsewhere (fair), but, to pretend this should cost 90k (much less the 9 dollars some people are saying) is just misunderstanding what it takes to prototype/produce/market something like this.
Tim a question about the iwc 150th chrono inhouse movement. You think that iwc now will keep that movements in theire new chronos from now foward or is it only be in this 150th editions?
For the new reference 3716, the new reference number (and my talks with IWC reps) is the confirmation that the new model is a successor and not a supplement to the older reference 3714 with the V7750. Best, Tim
WatchBox Studios So if they bring completely new portuguese chronos they will be inhouse movements but the old references watches will still be produced and with the same valjoux movement?
IWC probably will make some more adjustments (mainly aesthetics i guess) to the new future reference watches and by there discontinue the old reference currently in production. Otherwise it will be weird having inhouse and outhouse movements in the same line.
If you wore that 3/4-of-an-inch-thick RM 53-01 with the baby blue velcro strap out in public, among normal people who had no idea what it was, you'd probably draw a lot of laughs.
This or 90+ Rolex Hulks? I'll take the Hulks and if one breaks, move on to the next, I doubt I'll go through 90 in my lifetime. Also virtually indestructible I guess.
WatchBox Reviews Good point. If you can afford an RM, you can afford everything else (at least to my knowledge). That’s not the case with MOST Rolex owners I’d say.
You can tell the experts from the non experts. Go to the RM site and see how it's made, with special processes, materials, and problems they had to overcome. It's impressive! Would you turn down one of these watches if given to you, priced in the 6 figures? Didn't think so.
I see someone on here is saying just because you cannot afford it that’s why your saying it looks like a toy !!! I am not a watch person but the clients I sell to are “ i deal in gold bullion the only watch I have is a Rolex everose Daytona black dial used it for 3 weeks and took it off and put back on my apple iwatch 4 it’s just not for me
RM is very infamous at the time and the reason is not a secret ... But anyway here is the reason ( from my opinion ) like i take a shit on the desk and i say its worth 1 mil and its for sale so u can buy it or not even i shit on someones head for free and use it for commercial ... That's the way of the world i guess ( beside all of this talking i personally gone mad for that evil eye it took my heart ... )

can you heat a fast ticking sound on the RM53-01?

30 pieces.

How much RM53-02
Thanks for the info on how it fits on your wrist.
How many of those are actually sold and how many are given away for free to all these ambassadors?
I'd imagine one was given to Pablo. Whether that was a prototype, a 31st production model, or part of there 30-piece run, I do not know.
Best,
Tim

The market. It’s all about the market.
Try to make a watch like that and see how much will it cost you.
I don’t care how exquisite is the process to make one of these, please. It’s not worth $900k. Period.
