This is so cool 😎. I actually like the telephone 📞 paper. Very creative and love ❤️ all the pockets. I’ll have to make a few of these myself for all my small pieces as well. Thank you 🙏🏻 for sharing. Hugs 🤗 from North Carolina
After glueing 3 times with 3 different glues on two layers for each pocket....I created a new kind of GLUE book/portfolio! I persevered and filled it eventually with many florals. I learned a lot, Thanks once again for helping so many of us just starting.
I had the same problem with the glue so I opted to sew in the pockets. I also stapled on tabs to reinforce the outside tops of the pockets; and added grommets to hook on various dangly things (charms, buttons, beads etc.) Such a wonderful idea Gayle! And what wonderful gifts these would make for other papercrafters who are just beginning.
I made a booklet that I am using to hold full sheets before I cut them. I plan to make this style, but had already decided that I would sew my pockets on. I can have the front and backs the same so one run of stitching on each page should work.
hi gayle, so sorry to hear about the migraine and tech issues yesterday, glad your better today. 💕 i felt like i had my shoes on the wrong feet yesterday, that's the best way i know to describe a day where things just seem a tad more difficult, a little more off than usual. your folio is looking gorgeous-love all the collage and the pink seam binding really "ties it all together" beautifully 😆 thanks so much for making videos/sharing and always inspiring. i need to go back and watch the happy mail video next 👍 oh! maybe your cabinet card digis would fit in the front pockets!
Another lovely creation. They are great to make to store all the little bits and bobs in, and so easy to see what you have and saves fussing about in envelopes/ files etc!!! Wonderful to hear about your adventure, and I am glad you are back safely. Thank you for doing all the vids in advance it’s so thoughtful of you. 😻x
Your folio turned out beautiful. And we enjoy watching you Glue paper. I’m so glad you used the word “Inspire” because that’s what you do for us. Thank you for sharing 🤗
Hi Gayle Love love love your videos they are so helpful and I do love to collage along. So I decided to do a folio like you were making for my assorted bits. I had the same trouble with the glue sticking to the plastic sleeves, so I ended up sewing them together and that worked perfectly. I took the empty sleeves and just cut them down one side and left the other connected. Then I just slipped them over the end of the page, so one side on the front and the other side on the back of the page. Then I only needed to line them up and sew the other open side and bottom. and both pages were attached with one stitch on both sides. Hope that makes sense. Great project and to fill 'er up!! Cheers Gwynn
Oh totally love how this is turning out. Gayle just a note to yourself. I've heard you say in this video and first one that it doesnt have to be perfect because it's just for me...YOU deserve perfect too :)
I ditched the glue and I ended up using double sided 1/8 inch tape and Memorex CD/DVD plastic Keepers that I had several boxes of. (I just cut the CD holders in half to the height I wanted and it gave me two pockets, I was quite proud of myself..LOL) I can not say anything that everyone else hasn't already said about how much I love you and how wonderful you are. You deserved what Leslie and the others gifted you. Hugs and purrs
I also have a book of protectors. But I still have albums to scrapbook. When I turned 70 I thought should organize and write stories of all my pictures. About 2/3 rd s done but one day watched a junk journal video and was hooked. Thanks for your videos love all your ideas.
I love these type folios. I never thought to use papers I don't particularly care for. You always end up with those papers and they just sit. Good idea since it's just to hold ephemera. PS I found a new glue on Amazon called Reptile glue. Cheaper than AGG and never clogs even if you leave the cap off. It grabs quickly and holds everything. Just thought I'd share.
I loved the first folio book but after seeing this new one I officially have folio envy! Going to have to make myself one. Thank you for the inspiration - and I hope that migraine of yours is over and done with. x
I’ve been tearing apart thrift store book finds and fussy cutting to beat the band. Need to make some of these folios to store everything. Love how you make these functional pieces of art so beautiful! 💚
Hello, so so awesome and turned out pretty...glad you're working on this...teeheee. good to know that glue works, somewhat. I have 3-in, hope that will work too. Love that mushroom stamp- adorable. A new glue stick IS exciting!! Wow, you have alot of ephemera. I'll have to build up my supply.
Always love watching your videos I am new to all this and I have ordered a blank journal.cant wait to start with your by my side. Thanks again for all the work you put into every video ❤️
Hi Gayle!! New subbie!! Just finished watching a few of your videos and wanted to let you know that I thoroughly enjoy watching them!! Your enthusiasm is contagious!! Your projects are so inspirational!! This folio idea and the one before are awesome ideas!! Your journals are amazing!! TFS!! Hugs, Liz:)
So pretty!! And handy! I love Art Glitter Glue, but discovered there are places it just doesn't always work. But overall it's great. Thanks for sharing! I love watching!❤️
Awwwww, Gayle--I have barometric pressure-triggered migraines too. As much as I like spring, the changeable weather makes for a lot of down time as the only thing that relieves the pain is total darkness and quiet. Sending hugs.
Love to craft with you! Today I actually crafted while you did - I must admit often I just veg while I watch and listen to you :/ I suffered from migraines for years, massage helps tremendously, but a good massage therapist is hard to find sometimes! Glad you persevered and got that Happy mail video happy!! ❤️ Love the ephemera journal.
Loved the last tutorial on the folio and made one myself. I’ve not finished it and this has made me get it out again. I love these. Like you say it’s nice to make something to keep for yourself. Lisa and the Alpacas 🤗🦙♥️
Oh my gosh!!...when you got to the part where you were looking at the labels for the pocket next to the mushroom pocket you chose my favorite label for that pocket...love watching your videos!!
I had a similar problem with the glue failing when trying to glue plastic to paper, especially if the paper was coated. I ended up sewing the plastic pockets to the pages before adding them to my book. Love your tutorials Gayle, Thanks. All the best, Kris.
It’s looking great. I started my ephemera folder too & ran into the art glitter glue came loose too I re-glued them with fabri-tac. I am using an old photo book. It’s about 8x10 it is working pretty good. I hated to throw it away. It is a 3 ring binder. I think it’s going to be good! I have 2 of them. Seems to be the right size to slide in & out without troubles. Thanks for the great video!
Hi Gale...just started watching your videos. ..apart from inspiring me...you sure know how to make someone laugh....I thoroughly enjoy your amazing videos. ..please continue with this good job...
Love this folio too. You turned an ugly duckling into a beautiful swan with pretty papers! Lol The mushroom you stamped is a morel. Dad & I go mushroom hunting every spring for these. They are delicious fried. Glad you are feeling better. Migraines are no fun at all. Hugs.
This is so fun. I’ve started one for me. But you must not say it doesn’t have to be perfect because it’s only for you - hey, you deserve perfect as much as anyone. (Of course none of us will get perfect anyway. Ha)
ok. I made one similar to your previous video on the ephemera holder. I too had problems with the glue holding. I tried many glues. My latest thought it to try sewing them on. I'll let you know how it goes. Gayle, Diana has been doing the migraine thing too. She too has had trouble with uploading videos to youtube. It maybe a youtube problem. I have had over 10 days of on again off again migraines too. It's horrible. I feel your pain!!! I'm working on a happy mail box for each of my faves on youtube and you are one of them. Great as always. Thanks
Yeah I was going to say can you sew them? I made one of these when you did before and I love it! And I am going to have to make another one as well. We have too much stuff! But having this is so helpful. I am using stuff that I didn’t even know I had lol. You’re the best!🤗🤗🤗
I really wish you would make some of these empherma books for your etsy shop! I definitely would try to get one from you, I need one of these in my life! TFS as always Gayle, your my favorite!
Angela Denlinger it only held on a few...not great! I’m going to use vellum for the pockets from now on. The plastic of the sleeves just won’t stick. They could be seen but I don’t want to go to that much trouble. Bummer on the sleeves! ❤️
@@gayleagostinelli_ct thank you so much for the reply, I guess I will have to buy some vellum then, I was hoping not to. Maybe I can use something else, any suggestions welcome, thanks
Love your folio... not feeling so bad now cuz I decorated mine just like an album cover I would sell....lol...prettiest darn folio around for scraps!!!! Lol
I thoroughly enjoyed watching the entire video and think your books are lovely. On this last one, I especially liked the pocket collages and the sunflower page. The mushroom stamps are yummy. I hope you manage to control the migraines. I have had years of problems with classic migraines - the ones with jagged lights and edges, followed by the headache (sometimes as many as 5 in one day) They are so debilitating and exhausting. I can definitely trace many of them to stress and overdoing things, so make sure you monitor that. I am currently free of them, thank goodness! Take care X
I am having the same problem with the page protectors not sticking. Thought it was something I was doing wrong. Sorry it is happening to you ,but glad I'm not the only one.
