    Companies that tell their drivers they must get to X location at Y time won't have any consequences for anything bad happening, whilst the driver has to deal with the consequences of their companies stupidity. If you feel tired, pull over and take a break.

      Probably happens too often and unfortunately it’s the drivers responsibility and these companies get away with it totally wrong!!!!

      Problem is if they pull over and take a break, some companies like my dads have a devise that buzzes and reports them for sitting for more than 5 minutes. Their pay is docked for it and too many and they can be fired. They're required to get from X to Y in Z amount of time, no excuses.

      @@dawnj2360 I can believe that especially with trackers fitted to vehicles they know everything. It’s the all the drivers responsibility from the moment they leave the depot…

      @@dawnj2360 if thats the case they can be reported for unfair working conditions, I used to drive trucks and coaches, nationwide, and I always made sure I was rested, took my breaks, if my boss didnt like it, I told him, you can come with me, and when im on my break, you can drive, of course he refused as he couldnt drive a truck or a coach, just say behnd a desk, I would never ever risk my driving licence, my life or the lifes of other people, just so I could drop off a load a few mins early/on time, if I was a little late the place I would be delivering too would have too understand, I would try to keep them informed, as traffic, weather, breaks, or even breakdowns can all effect our daily lifes, people have too understand that, if a company is forcing its drivers to break laws, then they need to be reported for it.

      "If you feel tired, pull over and take a break" yea but in the UK it is illegal to stop on the hard shoulder of a motorway unless you have a breakdown. For example if you did stop on the hard shoulder, there could be risk of a drunk driver crashing into the back of you.

    If the first chap had stopped and not pulled forward he'd have been blocked by the pump and not caught. The audacity of him to be giving out about getting accused for doing EXACTLY WHAT HE WAS ACCUSED OF! And bringing in the girlfriend to try and prove he's not an illegal driver.

    Even agencies should make sure drivers get enough rest. Staff should understand the job , the driver is asked ro do.
    Most agencies have not a clue .

    if the driver would have had low blood sugar, then after the accident he would only be able to wake up if someone injected him with the glucose type injection, which he could not do himself, which means he probably fell asleep at the wheel and did not collapse, furthermore if he takes insulin he is automatically banned form driving hgvs except for 7.5 tonnes if he takes the extended health check up

    The motorway infrustructure itself was to blame for the outcome in regard to totally inadequate design & strength of the central reservation which should be strong & high enough to stop an HGV dead in its tracks & stop it from crossing over to the other side as clearly the safety barriers failed to do their job properly & had they stopped it from crossing to the other side then only he would have suffered the consequences as crossovers should be consigned to history with anti crossover barriers installed across the entire motorway network which would save lives & prevent this from happening once and for all.

      I think they are a bit more older than we think. Because more than half of the videos have older cars in the traffic, like driving around.

    Also why do you need to re-take your driving test once your driving ban is over?? Because you know once you've done it you already know and remember how to drive..

    • @ArtzyZero
      @ArtzyZero 4 місяці тому +1

      It's a refresher to make sure you're safe to return to the road. Rules of the road change overtime, such as speed limits in rural areas. And imagine if it wasn't a requirement and the person in question would've failed their test? Better safe than sorry!

      The reason they don't give stronger sentences is because the people who set the penaltys are not happy with the idea of getting caught by those sentences, because they drive and probably break the laws

    This is why we need auto pilot which will be able to take over the wheel while the driver sleeps for a bit on the driver seat. This would be useful for tired lorry drivers.
