Delhi Government with Maruti Suzuki has introduced a new computerised driving test that applicants must complete in order to get a driving license. The Automated Driving Test Centres have been set up in 12 locations in Delhi and they test applicants with different parameters like Reverse S, Figure of 8 (8 Formation), overtaking, red light, parallel parking and gradient tests. While initially over 95% of applicants failed the test, still more than half of applicants continue to find it difficult to pass. Here are some tips that will help you ace your driving test in Delhi to get your driving licence.

To stimulate the real India road experience we need a few more things

I think we all should raise our voice to not make timelimit compulsory it's a driving test not a formula-1 race

Europe and USA has Real Road test. Evaluation is done by evaluator sitting with you while you drive on normal roads.

For four wheelers it's necessary but for two wheelers it appears as if the candidate has applied for the position of an acrobat in a Circus.
Any person with mere common sense would definitely prefer putting the foot down for extra balance and comfortable driving. This is with the intention of not hurting oneself and other related casualty.
RTO officials must understand this.
It is better that the candidate is asked to drive on a busy street and whether the relevant traffic norms ate adhered to must be observed.
Exactly sir I agree with you. Why would someone take a zig Zag or 8 shape movement on highway. This doesn't make sense.
@@investfoxy Its the only way to measure balance and agility. You will have to drive not only on highways but on the street as well at some point. The zigzags stimulate driving through traffic and avoiding hitting other irresponsible drivers and pedestrians.

And some RTOs will like to torture you by also making indicators compulsory on the serpentine track (so that's 6 times flicking the switch) while balancing the bike. I was able to do it after a lot of practice, but it's a nonsensical test.

Useless test. First of all, tracks are too narrow. Secondly, this the the worst standard for testing a good driver. Good driver is one who checks mirrors before overtaking or giving turn indicator.

Documents required: for identity proof(adhaar card) ,age proof( pan card or 10th marksheet). Do carry their photocopies as well(its must). You should also carry your passport size photo (as they may ask you for that) and all the documents(like all the forms, fee receipt, provisional appointment, application number) which you get while applying for the test. And if your are above 30 years of age the rto official may ask you for the fitness certificate.

what kind of question is that? the license and training is for 4 wheeler, which is far from anything needed for a 2 wheeler. it is ONLY for 4 wheeler. a bike, no matter heavy or small has nothing to do with a car and its driving license. u need a different one for a bike.

Between Delhi, and outside Delhi, a very noticeable difference in driving style is there, and it has only grown far apart in the last few years. I'd say, it's a step in the right direction. Other states need to implement it too.

These driving tests are so hard and so much restrictions like you can't reverse during eight making , time bound etc . In practical world and on roads we do driving safe and with time for our safety . Instead i just gave some rupees to dalal for license without test .. who will come here again and again after failing .

just a tip:
For both the tests, take small, light and compact vehicles...otherwise the failure rate is easily 95%
Its not that initially 95% failed the test. I witnessed 100% failing this test today including me at parallel parking. Experience they are expecting with this test actually come with long time. 95% People who got their license before this test was introduced will also lose their license if they to go through this one. A beginner is a learner who is not supposed to be an expert at reverse maneuvering and parallel parking lol.
This is gonna be my last attempt for 4 wheeler. I prefer driving a scooty if they don't pass me in this weird f test.

@@archana2038 lol I cleared in the 3rd attempt. Okay but first two I failed coz first one I took too much time in reverse parking. Second time I couldn't do parallel parking. So I practiced these 2 parkings before going the 3rd time. U just need to practice parking both reverse and parallel
Btw, I did my test in dehradun and not delhi. So idk what test they have in delhi

This test is just stupid
It is the most stupidly designed test. What is the logic behind time limit of 90or 60 secs for parallel parking and reversing into an alley and coming out of it is beyond my comprehension. Koi race lagi hai kya. These things should be done patiently and not in a hurry anywhere. Driving is all about patience.
They don't test you for proper road driving at all. That's why 80% of people fail daily and they have to again pay the fees for a re-test. They make you wait for a minimum of 2 hours in sweltering heat just to make sure that you do not pass this test. They provide you with their own car which again you are not used to driving.
Please do not opt for these centers. Go for the regular govt RTO's where they actually test you on the road itself. This is a total waste of time and money. It's a scam , nothing else

The worst test of driving ability.I hold a license from Canada & Dubai.Considering most people are buying SUV’s in india except Taxi cars are small.Road test is not real life and too narrow road.This does not give any ability the real life driving ability.

Hospitals
How can one learn above ( How many cars do see stop for a ambulance)??? Was the driver taught ??
