Indeed harming oneself is against the teachings of Allah, our Prophet Muhammad S.A.A.W, and Ayima Ahal ul Bait A.S. One should not harm himself in any manner. Crying and shedding tears in memory of Imam Hussain A.S and his companions are one thing but harming oneself in the name of the martyrdom of Imam Hussain A.S is another and has nothing to do with the teachings of Imam A.S himself. If we are the true followers of Imam Hussain A.S we should be on the battle field against the oppressors.
