I'm a black woman, and I am exhausted. I am exhausted, watching my community members become the enemies they claim to hate. I am exhausted at my community members never looking at themselves and seeing what they can take responsibility with. I am tired of the division. I am tired of the histrionics. I'm tired of the exaggerating. I'm tired of the lack of introspection and reflection. I'm tired of modern black people acting like they had it as bad as their ancestors. I'm tired of the victim culture. I'm tired of us not fixing what we can. I'm tired of members of my community acting as if white people do something differently, then all of our problems will be absolved. I'm tired of the hypocrisy and the lies. I do not hate all white people, just like I do not love all black people. I'm constantly fighting against this narrative, and I really hope white people don't buy into it. Because unfortunately, black people already have and we already have enough to deconstruct over on this side. Common Sense black and white people need to get together and ostracize people who want to set us back.

I listen to a LOT of black conservatives, and you are NOT alone. I understand the exhaustion - I feel the same way. I'm so tired of being treated as "privileged" because of the color of my skin where that is LITERALLY the only privilege I have... I saw this type of mentality live in person. Long story short, there were some technical difficulties at my job the other day and people were getting rude and impatient. One of the managers was helping out this black customer and had already taken some things off her check to be nice. She decided it wasn’t enough for her so she started yelling and cussing him out for everyone to hear. She thought he was Hispanic (he’s also black) and started yelling a lot of racial slurs at him and told him she “could cuss him and his mamma out in Mexican too”. He told her that was not polite and she shouldn’t say racist things like that to people. Her response was “I’m not able to be racist”. Because of shows like those on MSNBC there are already so many who think like that and it’s so sad to see it happen.

I was a communications major and this type of conversation was very common place at my university. I'll never forget talking about Huckleberry FInn, and being told I was racist for explaining how Twain purposly used dialect as a tool. Making the slaves talk in broken english, but also making the true racist white people talk in broken english as well. Providing the reader with a reality that there wasn't an intelectual difference between black and white people, but merely a psycological one. That analysis got me called a racist in front of the entire class. As our lecture went on it became clear that the professor felt Twain was a racist, and had been taught to believe that Huckleberry Fin had become one of the most iconic novels in America because of it's racist views and stereotypes that it portrayed. According to him, Twain wrote the story before the Civil War and it served no other purpose than to push Twain's racist view points. So again I raised my hand and told him he was wrong, and the book was written after the Civil War, and that it served as a reflection of American Society. It was written to demonstrate the horrors of that society, not to praise it. Of course I was told I was wrong and ignored, until a very smart student took the initiative to look up my claim. At that point I demanded the professor (a TA) get rid of the entire lesson as he was pushing false racist narratives, and he refused. It wasn't about teaching Huck Finn or literature, it was about pushing his own agenda. It was so sad to me because Huck Finn was such a impactful work of liturature for me growing up and at least I had a freshman high school teacher who had taken the time to actually teach the novel. But thank God I paid thousands of dollars for false information. The irony that a self indulgant clearly poorly educated man continuing to push his unethical ideals to my class and probably to many others, acting like the horrible white racists Twain depicted, certainly has never been lost on me.

It's even in ostensibly apolitical networks. Who would have thought ESPN would be a major source of racial hatred? But Stephen A Smith is paid by ESPN to spew racist bile every day. RIP Colin Flaherty. He has been warning us about this for decades, he had gathered all the data, all the news reports, all the lies and falsehoods, and had been trying to show us Truth. Some of us saw, or heard or read it, and listened, but most of us have not, and Colin died without fully realizing his goal. The simple goal, of telling everyone the truth, but he died before people were ready to actually listen.
It is LONG overdue that Tucker is finally getting to this, but so long as it is being dealt with, and the truth spread tot he people, then something is working correctly, for once, in our crumbling society.
Started my professional welding and machining career in 2005. Unbeknownst to me , at least in Indiana there wasn’t a lot of brodda’s to be found😅 long story short, in my seventeen years of working alongside my caucasian counterpart I have found these men and women to be some of the most caring, patient and down to earth people I’ve ever met. It hasn’t been perfect but what is in life. What I can say is, 99% of these people could care less about the color of my skin! The only thing that mattered was how competent I was at my job. I know everybody’s experience is different, but after working 17 years side by side with caucasian brodda’s………. y’all ain’t too bad.

As someone who is mixed race (black and white), growing up my family was so divided that it even affected myself and my siblings to this day. In my experience at the family level, I saw the “black side” of my family saying my “white side” hated them purely based on race and that they can only see skin color. But the “white side” said they didn’t like the other side because of their victim mentality, backbiting, gossiping, etc, all things I noticed in the “black side” as well, while everything “evil” thing the “white side” was still denounced as racism by the “black half.”
My “white family” isn’t blameless for the divisiveness by any means, but they’re not the racists in the family. Most of the racists in the family are in my “black family.”
You can choose to take stock in your own experiences, but these are mine.

I still talk to nearly everyone in my family, as the “black half” was raised by a woman (my black grandma) who watched her mother March in rural Alabama and was born in the late 40s (my grandma had kids young). I don’t begrudge her teaching her kids and grandkids her learned experiences, I begrudge her acting like every white people she comes across is waiting to act in racism. It’s just sad to see your family pitted together just because your parents were able to see past skin color long enough to have kids. But family got in the way, so they haven’t been together since my twin and I were literal babies. Just sad to see.

I’ve considered sitting them down to talk about it, but I definitely don’t want to do that with either of my grandmothers (longer story than I feel like typing here 😅). My twin and I have somewhat talked to my older sister about it for the first time, this year. It was after our white grandfather’s funeral, and the wounds were still deep, but we tried to be as respectful to each other as possible.
As for talking to the “adults” about it, now that I’m an adult myself, I feel the only two I really trust to either not see me as racist myself or as attacking one side of the family more than the other, would be my parents. I just haven’t figured out yet how to breach the subject with them.

Back in 2018 I went to work at a cleaning company and my new boss and the whole staff were black. Never bothered me until my boss and my coworkers would sit in the office with me and talk about white privilege. The most uncomfortable position when I couldn’t say a word. My boss and I whome I thought were very close, you would think we were best friends. We went on walks everyday after work. Started our own separate business and many other things. Well she always told me when she leaves her position I will be boss because she will make sure of it. Well that time came and she called me to the office one day and said her boss is going to call to interview me for her position. I get there and she tells him she is concerned about me getting the position because I voted for trump. Even though I never talked politics to her she had ask me who I voted for and I told her. You'll notice how many comments have lots of people agreeing with them but your comment asking for peace and unity hasn't attracted the same level of interest. The division is intentional but many people are easily manipulated. I used to read a lot of history and wonder how people were moved into doing unthinkable things but now I can see it is simple when governments and their agents know how to use their psychology to manipulate masses of people.

I was at my sister's home, watching a docu series on Netflix and a black woman (and others) won a sales award. The prize was a free cruise with the CEO and free high end everything on the cruise. I mentioned the race of that one particular winner, because in an interview, they asked her why she didn't go on this incredible cruise. She smiled and hesitated a bit, but said, "ok, I'm just going to say it....I could not spend my days in the middle of the ocean surrounded by white people" and she laughed. And of course Netflix aired it, no problem. Simply incredible.

Being in the Army starting in the 80s thru the 90s and retired 2009 we had absolutely no problem with race, NO ONE even thought about it from what I could see, I was just another human being like anyone else, never entered my mind about the skin color of my fellow soldier...We were trained in basic training that everyone is green and for 8 weeks it was drilled into our head...After basic it just was never brought up anymore, no one really would think about it...I am sure there were cases but it was definitely not prevalent...I am not sure about the Army today but if they have to have CRT training it must have changed for the worse...It's almost as if racism was brought INTO the military after I got out, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out what happened...BHO without a doubt in my mind.

I totally agree. I retired from the Army in 2011. The military has the best race relations in my opinion. I sometimes wonder what the hell the civilians have been doing acting like the civil war just ended. As for crt, I am assuming it is just being forced on the military. I hope that competent leadership is not enforcing it.

The diversity "problem" in hockey is very simple.
My husband (now 39) played as a kid from 7 to 15 years old. The cost to his parents? About $10k a year. And a LOT of mornings up at 4:30AM to get him to practice because ice time is always a problem. The rink? 20 minutes away by car.
The coach of my son's high school football team invited him to football camp, and then tried to recruit him. What would it have cost me to have him join the team? Nothing, other than shoes, and maybe some time fundraising if I chose to volunteer. The school handled it all.
Same with the high school's basketball team. No cost. Baseball. No cost. All the way from K-12. Effectively zero cost to parents.
If you're an athletic black kid in an inner city with parent or parents who are struggling to pay the bills, or don't own a car, or just don't have unlimited flex-time, you're going to go for a sport that's either cheap or free, and organized by your K-12 school.
Basketball is even more black than football. Why? A basketball costs next to nothing. If you live in the inner city, there's probably outdoor courts and hoops all over the place in your neighborhood. There's probably kids around you who are up for a pickup game anytime. If you live in a house with a driveway, you can mount your own inexpensive hoop and backboard and practice at home.
Are you going to take up golf? Only if your parents have as much money as Tiger's did.
My mother in law bought the house her son and I now live in back in 1989 (when he was 6) for about $90k. She transferred the mortgage and title to us 27 years later.
When we took over the mortgage from her, the principal was $173k. Because hockey. And don't get me wrong, he had talent. But he could have done just as well on his high school's wrestling team, for next to no money.
This diversity "problem" is just the fallout from socioeconomic and cultural realities. If you're talent rich but cash and time poor, you don't go into hockey. If there's a basketball hoop every other block, and a football team at your school, ask yourself. Where's the nearest rink that offers ice time to junior players? How much does that ice time cost? And how many of your friends even watch hockey?

Hockey is also played in areas where it's generally pretty cold. Areas that have been mostly white for a long time. Most of the NHL is made up of European imports from Scandinavian and Slavic countries. Then Canada. Then the USA.
Is it really a problem that black kids can't afford to play hockey? When I was a teenager, I wanted to take flying lessons. My father said No. Somehow I survived and found something else to do.
