To me this movie feels like a vacation or amusement park. When you're there, it is lots of fun and emotional. But right before you leave, you become sad that it can't last longer, and once you left you start to wanting to go back right away.
This is honestly the best way to describe Top Gun Maverick. And it doesn’t feel like a cheap, forgettable vacation or amusement park either! It feels like a VIP weekend with all the highest accommodations and luxuries that come with it!

Saw Top Gun Maverick yesterday, I don't think the music suited the movie at all. Good music but not what I wanted from it. Top Guns soundtrack is a masterpiece.
I was skeptical when I first heard the song, but when I saw the movie in theater and saw on which scene it was playing, it was quite fitting. I couldn't stop thinking about that song as well.
Men, I just saw the movie. And to be completely honest... I'm still shaking. Literally the best movie sequel I've ever watched. The entire cinema was full. Everyone laughed at the funny moments. I heard some sniff's on the sad ones and a deadly silence on the rest. I was on the edge of my seat. So. Many. Emotions. The soundtrack. The characters. The acting. The flashbacks of Top Gun 1. I loved every single moment of it. Wish I could experience this again :')

This film honestly felt like a complete overhaul of the original. To be totally transparent, I'm not really too big a fan of the original Top Gun film, but this one is definitely one of my favorite action films in general. I loved how it gave you scenes that had you tensing your entire body, but it also gave you scenes like the beach "football" one where everything felt hunk-dory. This song definitely added to the overall tone and emotion of the beach scene, and it's been stuck in my head ever since I watched the film.
I first heard this song while watching 'Top Gun: Maverick' and got hooked! I will be purchasing the movie soundtrack cd (Hans Zimmer's score moved me)!!
The beach scene was top notch and put a smile to my face. Football and volleyball traditions still remain to this day amongst aircrew and pilots. Pensacola was good times.

After watching the movie last week, I must say that the beach scene montage was otherworldy. I have a rule of thumb for when to know if the move is good or not. All of the “you’re the last of your kind” references in Top Gun Maverick struck me deeply because Tom Cruise is a dying breed of movie star. I felt the subtext. They don’t make em’ like him anymore. And while I embrace the future of cinema and all the innovation that brings, I can’t help but feel nostalgic for this golden age that Cruise has so profoundly carved into my childhood-all of our childhoods. Say what you will about his behavior off camera. He is Hollywood. He’s put his heart into this sequel, and not only do I respect him for his respect for film, I felt how much of a love letter this was to all the great action films that graced the silver screen. And to top it all off, the man’s still got it. He pulled something off many can’t. Not only did he give Top Gun fans (old and new) what they were craving; he rejuvenated the plot and made it better. My hat’s off to this dynamic man. Thank you for giving us awe-inspiring scenes again and breathing life back into the theater experience.

Agreed. I read on front cover of tabloid that he and brad pitt are competing with each other who is the top action star. Even if it's not true it's fun to imagine these two giant action/dramatic titans have a friendly rivalry. Especially with Pitt's train movie that comes out next year sometime. I was skeptical when I first heard the song, but when I saw the movie in theater and saw on which scene it was playing, it was quite fitting. I couldn't stop thinking about that song as well.
Men, I just saw the movie. And to be completely honest... I'm still shaking. Literally the best movie sequel I've ever watched. The entire cinema was full. Everyone laughed at the funny moments. I heard some sniff's on the sad ones and a deadly silence on the rest. I was on the edge of my seat. So. Many. Emotions. The soundtrack. The characters. The acting. The flashbacks of Top Gun 1. I loved every single moment of it. Wish I could experience this again :')

This film honestly felt like a complete overhaul of the original. To be totally transparent, I'm not really too big a fan of the original Top Gun film, but this one is definitely one of my favorite action films in general. I loved how it gave you scenes that had you tensing your entire body, but it also gave you scenes like the beach "football" one where everything felt hunk-dory. This song definitely added to the overall tone and emotion of the beach scene, and it's been stuck in my head ever since I watched the film.
I first heard this song while watching 'Top Gun: Maverick' and got hooked! I will be purchasing the movie soundtrack cd (Hans Zimmer's score moved me)!!

All of the “you’re the last of your kind” references in Top Gun Maverick struck me deeply because Tom Cruise is a dying breed of movie star. I felt the subtext. They don’t make em’ like him anymore. And while I embrace the future of cinema and all the innovation that brings, I can’t help but feel nostalgic for this golden age that Cruise has so profoundly carved into my childhood-all of our childhoods.
Say what you will about his behavior off camera. He is Hollywood. He’s put his heart into this sequel, and not only do I respect him for his respect for film, I felt how much of a love letter this was to all the great action films that graced the silver screen.
And to top it all off, the man’s still got it. He pulled something off many can’t. Not only did he give Top Gun fans (old and new) what they were craving; he rejuvenated the plot and made it better.
My hat’s off to this dynamic man. Thank you for giving us awe-inspiring scenes again and breathing life back into the theater experience.

Agreed. I read on front cover of tabloid that he and brad pitt are competing with each other who is the top action star. Even if it's not true it's fun to imagine these two giant action/dramatic titans have a friendly rivalry. Especially with Pitt's train movie that comes out next year sometime. They definitely don't make movies like they used to and it's a real shame.
At least we have the next two MI movies with Tom to look forward to. Can't wait!

OneRepublic, when this came out I was homeless, in and out of jail, and unhealthy. Now I have a house, a good job, and a husband. This song and “Clover Cage - The Lone Dancer” are the two songs that helped with my depression. I just want everyone to know things will get better. We are in this together. I love you ❤
