I can try kitfo with sauce and chili, but the cubes are very dangerous if you didn't get use to it, my friend got sick and straight to the intensive care, if you want to eat and you are from abroad, warning to you, please do it bit by bit and be careful till your body accepts it, otherwise you will regret and it may even kill you.

Wolayta is my home town and " kurt" is one of my special foods i love to eat, i have good advice next time when you plan to eat red meat to avoid stomach sickness. you must have to take alcohol(liquor). Also in sodo town there are two best places to eat kurt.#1 the place call " Enjory" restaurant, #2, shonga restaurant both are located near to club 50, have a good time !

There is a reason why civilization stopped eating raw meat since 8000 years ago. There is exception of all cultures eating raw meat, but that under condition being spicy, salty, dry, or any other conservation method to keep it preserved but also to get off all harmful bacteria. Some occasion you can eat Fresh meet, but that must be very fresh, tested, and certain parts only. In that unhygienic environment you where, its was like asking for trouble. Happy you made it anyway.

I dont eat the raw meat cubes its called tire sega in Ethiopian language, Amharic. But i love kitfo it is one of my favorite foods. I only eat leb-leb tho which means like lightly cooked, equivalent to like a steak cooked medium.

Yves, there is a possibility that you might get infected by tapeworm which is not common in Europe and America. Our people who had been affected by the worm had been operated in Europe which was taken as new type of worm. But in Ethiopia there are different tablets that will cure it.

In Ethiopia You can’t just kill cow and sell meat to the public there are strict guidelines and every cattle must be approved by veterinarian before going to slaughter house.

You've already seen that the meat hangs outside in this heat and is not secured in a refrigerator. You have to be careful with raw meat in this country. It's no problem for the people there because they are used to it and have a completely different immune system than Europeans. But next time, choose a restaurant where you know the meat won't be hanging outside in the heat and the vendor will be shooing the flies off the meat with a dirty broom 😂

sure his choice of restaurant may be a bit low even for ordinary locals but meat to be served raw doesn't go to refrigeration around here. refrigeration would ruin it. cattle for raw meat are slaughtered daily and if it passes the first day the meat will be send to the kitchen for cooked dishes. besides cattle here are grown organically that the meat spoil slowly.
Many animals eat meat raw. Most of them are fine and very heathy than us. We over cool our food too much to the point, we destroy most of the nutrition in food for exaple Vitamin C and B.

Sushi grade fish isn't hanging around in the hot African sun all day. It's also flash frozen to kill any potential parasites. Not even in the same realm as a slab of beef hanging on dirty walls with flies.

OMG, hope you're feeling well now. I mean this was really a lot of raw meat and for an untrained stomach, obviously this was not a good idea. You can't eat raw meat at every butcher house , you have to be slective where you eat and the quality of the meat.
