Yes! For about 400 or 500 bucks, especially given existence of KOII, P6, and LoFiXT, anything like that with a two octave velocity and two-octave pressure sensitive keyboard will obviously sell like cupcakes. KOII is awesome but flawed because of its limitations, the Sonicware XTs are too powerful and miniature, the Roland P6 is desperately crying out for a song mode and sensitive keyboard...
I am amused at the idea that a music device like this could be added to the whole “internet of things” concept and would be thrilled to see it succeed and thrive, as well as lead the way to other likeminded innovations. I am surprised to say that after reading your kickstarter page I am a fan of the concept. Not that my opinion matters. But I think it actually is not at all gimmicky but actually quite innovative in a playful way. Hopefully you all can make your product as successful as you envision.
The very most important question about this project, is can you transfer samples over wifi even if the service is down? Can it be done directly from a PC, or over a self-hosted network? Otherwise there will always be the risk of the cloud platform going under.
Great set of features, lovely layout and graphics on the screen. This feels like a real instrument and not just an instagram toy. Could be a really useful studio and live tool and would definitely consider it if microfreak didn't get its latest update. Gotta show some appreciation to french synth innovators!
I know, it also seems to be able to manipulate samples in much more complex ways than the microfreak, not to mention the wireless transfer as well as that beautiful screen display and the shimmer reverb!! I understand that having only a tiny amount of space, 100mb, is like the OP1, trying to inspire creativity by limitation. What I don't like is having proprietary memory cards to back up your samples. Wouldn't it be better to just include an SD slot so that people can decide if they want to conform or not?

Hello, the memory card is more a gimmick to retro gaming than something very mandatory. We can't used SD-Card cause we need high performance and to use SD-Card at full performance company like us have to pay very expensive royalties. But to be honest we don't make any profit on memory card, and it was not motivated by money. You still the availability to use local USB connection with your computer to transfer your samples or mywo.fi Cloud platform.

I have a Marantz CD 50n cd player and an old collection of music from my family, talking about tens of thousands of CDs ps: all sample libraries are 24 bit now so no need to do any conversion, plus some of us feel the small difference especially in a context of a track with more samples played in the same time@@atagen2186

Amazing. nice. But why skim on memory size. Why not just allow an SD card with giga bytes of memory. Its as cheap as dirt. Even the ancient microsampler has around 21 minutes sample memory which is more than this.
Why is it that we have all this new hardware - every crazy sound you could dream up - but somehow ever since this stuff came out our "music" is now a lot less "musical". Why is that? You would think it would get better - but no.

(we are very interested to have your feedback) The philosophy of WoFi is more to use very short and dirty sample to sculpt your sounds with a very intuitive workflow, than to have long and beautiful multisample / multilayer sample.

I have a lot of samples that lose all their charm when I play them in mono. It happens to me all the time with my Digitakt, which is an exceptional machine but with that important limitation. I also sample a lot from other gear, and the stereo effects make a big difference. I know that stereo can be generated with the Texturer, but I don't think it's the same as having a stereo sample as a start. And of course it would be great when we just want to play the sample in stereo without using the Texturer

it's not the plan, we know how it's important to have a free service accessible for everybody, so no worries about that ;) and you can still use the machine locally if you're not fan of Cloud service.
as we have explained, cloud is optional and not needed by WoFI to work, it's a "plus" and it's not mandatory at all, we have designed WoFI to be used without the Cloud Platform in 30 years ;)

controversial statement I guess but at 44.1k sample rate 16bit stereo wav audio you'll have about 10min. I dunno just seems like it would have been easy to add a little more.

Hello, you can do it locally using USB, so WoFi is totally useable without mywo.fi if one day the platform is not online anymore.

Yes you can edit waveform, trim your sample, and change your loop point directly on WoFi display, or on mywo.fi.

Not really that practical if your cloud access is down.
Cloud is rarely down but if you're not a Cloud enthusiast we will provide a Mac / PC software to transfer your files directly and locally.
