I'm in the ordination process. I believe a huge challenge is the lack of Biblical literacy tied into social media. An example of what I mean is like thinking everything in Revelation is literal and then going on facebook and just spewing out whatever, and then people are arguing over stuff. That or the political arena is atrocious.
I am on the path to becoming a pastor. Here in Germany, there are several challenges that make it difficult to remain hopeful about the future. One of the main issues is the constant focus on numbers-both financial figures and membership statistics-which can be discouraging. There’s also the ongoing pressure to preach biblical truths in a way that makes them accessible and relevant to people's lives, without alienating large parts of the congregation. Additionally, many people tend to view the pastor as someone who has studied and therefore knows better than everyone else. On top of that, the demands I place on myself only add to the pressure. Lastly, the constant demands of the role have made it so that I haven’t been able to attend a service as a listener for months. and I have a really great community that tries hard to make things easier for me.
Yeah, that resonated. It’s tough because we more easily fixate on discouragements vs encouragements. What’s something encouraging God has done in the church you serve this year?

My English isn't the best, please be lenient when it comes to formulations.
Thank you for sharing. You’ve mentioned a lot of challenges. What is your #1 ministry focus right now?
I would have to say it is the discouragement. As the pastor said, it is not one thing, it is the drip, drip, drip!
