This band is consistent during their 20 years span. 8 great albums, all unique, different yet from the same mind. Such an underrated band. My current fav one still active and never failed me not even for a single bar.
I love Mariusz and Riverside so much, and I finally got to see them live last week! Definitely one of the highlights of my entire life, and I'm so grateful for this music.
Agreed!!! When I happened onto a concert vid from Pomona, CA a couple of weeks back, I immediately checked their tour schedule hoping to find they would be appearing at City Winery in Nashville on the current tour. Nope! Closest they would be to me is Chicago. Hopefully; next year! We saw The Pineapple Thief last year, at City Winery. Great venue! Great show!!
Great interview. ID.Entity is a great record which has re-introduced me to their fabulous back catalogue. What a really great guy Mariusz is. See you in Birmingham
Great interview! I've been a huge Riverside fan for 15+ years, but the more I hear Mariusz Duda's perspective on his art, his band, and our society, I somehow find myself loving the music even more!
Riverside music and lyrics are so profound, deep and magical. I've been listening to them since 2004 and never get tired of going to their concerts and enjoy their nice and close interaction with their audience. Love them all. Cheers from Chile. Looking forward for to next tour to Santiago, as Mariusz promised to.
I know!!! Lol! I discovered Riverside maybe two months ago. All of a sudden, I now own nearly all of the CDs, and the triple live LP set! 🍻👍Not to mention; all of Lunatic Soul on CD! At 68 years old, I guess I figured I was finished discovering a new band!! Ha!! I'm a huge Porcupine Tree, Steven Wilson, & The Pineapple Thief fan, anxiously awaiting Steven Wilson's upcoming album! And, here we are!!! What a great interview we have here!!! Hopefully, they will come to Nashville next year!!
Wasn't a big fan of friend or foe after first listen, but the song grew on me very quickly.Had exactly same feeling about self-aware. Now I just can't wait for album to arrive. See you Riverside in Birmingham.
Love the new album! Looking forward to the Vancouver show and would like to thank the band for coming to British Columbia again. What a bright spot they are in my life.
That's so spot on Mariusz. The pressure culture to be the best damages people. Striving is not a bad thing but idealism for success causes so much illness. Love the album. Your voice becomes a bit Morten H in places.....and as a big Aha fan I LOVE IT! Great album and yes it's so bright but angry too.
"I really like this album, but this is not prog metal. One star!" Ugh, that hurts me on so many levels, haha Can't wait for ID.Entity, and to see Riverside in March!
Great interview, thank you. I'm a bit uncomfortable with the fact that this album needs so much explanations (as it seems to me) beside the music as such. I prefer when the art speaks for itself. This sounds like some kind of modern "conceptual" visual art, as if you need a Ph.D. degree to understand it. I'm looking forward the whole album and I'm really curious, if I'll be able to receive "the mesage".
I love Mariusz and everything he does 💜💜💜
One of the best bands on the planet - superb live and one of music's biggest secrets!

Saw them on the ID.entity tour, and really hope for a live video release from that tour.
