The 80's was the greatest music decade! Then 84, 85, 86, & 87 was our favorite years! My wife and I married in 1984! It was an awesome decade to be a young adult. Great times. We have been married 40 years now, are more in love than ever. This music is played during our "over the road tours" around the US. We have 7 adult children and 5 grandchildren spread out around the US. Our primary residence is in Eastern Long Island, and have secondary residence in Naples Fla. So, we tour across the country in our 2023 TIFFIN Allegro Touring BUS. The custom AV system is crazy and make cruising over the road like being at a concert. My wife gets the design credit. It's so wonderful when we can schedule some touring time. It's such a nice time for us, as we love being together. We try to get to as many of the kids as possible on a tour. We also tow an enclosed car trailer, so we can either take my wife's 2022 C8 Corvette, or 2021 Ferrari F488 Spider on the journey! Just two of many toys in our garages. We are truly living the American Dream!!! While living our blessed life now!
Your comment is absolutely true and heartbreaking. There’s was something truly magical about that moment in time and the humanity and aesthetic that existed within that window (maybe 1985-1992). Heartbreaking is the only term I can think of. Life was genuinely better. People were better. Music was better. All long before the constant stream of divisional news and realism. Pretty sure it could be described as de-evolution. To kill the internet and start over in 1987 would be a dream come true. Something about Belinda Carlisle, Debbie Gibson, Tiffany, and similar artists just made the musical part of our existence at that moment feel magical. Buying a Commodore 64, an Apple IIGS and an Amega computers brand new, an 80's muscle car, seeing Def Leppard, Metallica, Guns N Roses, etc live when they were new,... daym.

In the 1980s, I would have never guessed that Madonna would have had a bigger career than Belinda Carlisle. Both got a tremendous amount of airtime on the radio, mTV and the public, Belinda was prettier and had a better voice. Who knew?
