This one 40k, nay, one Imperium organization is more factiously complicated than a daytime soap opera. "Classifications are orderly. And order is the God-Emperor's will." No, Oblationists...in 40k Empire, corruption uses YOU. Heh, this group's accidental relation to the mantras of the Puritans is fitting to the very nature of the factionalizing within the Inquistion - eventually, some faction is going to cycle back to zero in regards to the organization's contrarian drama. The Oblationists form a shadowy impression of a secret society of an enhanced descendant of Terra's medievel Inquisition to the extreme. It sounds like some of these 'fellows', manic fanatics, could use the application of exorcists on themselves. But perhaps such is merely the incomprehensible depths of (distorted) devotion to the (deluded) intentions of the God-Emperor. Think mumbles of "The greater good", but rather from the likes of the town council in the movie "Hot Fuzz" rather than from the xenos T'au Empire. Yes, there does appear to be more hubris and self-righteousness obscuring and mingling with their hypocrisy, judging by their constant behavior. I suppose, being the Inquisition especially, the Oblationists could get away with their own "M.C." gang, clubhouse, secret handshake and, y'know, that wrangling of daemonic Warp beings. Factions upon factions. Thank you for the ever-deeper peeks into the depths on this massive Inquisitorial side of Man, GDN. Until your next episode - the Emperor protects.
Oh boy Mike your comment is well said especially about the Spanish Inquisition of Europe times I've known my great great grandfather had relation who die For believing in the many things that were new to the world this was during the time of exploration and age of sail
Ah, so individuals who deliberately taint themselves to fight chaos, thus AIDING chaos because, more than likely because even if they do horrific things, they can't be sure because their perceptions are damaged...and they're hypocrites to boot.
More like the Apostles of the Spirit of Hypocrisy itself. To the boots? To their very essence. Their apparent zeal is undeniable, however they reveal they do not truly believe the manifest truth of the creed they espouse. They believe the power of chaos is stronger than the purity they espouse to be ideal. Another name for the same thing. Unbelief in the strength of their ways. That that way is better no matter the outcome. To risk their life for that truth. To risk dying in its tenets, even if it appears to fall, but knowing it was worth it no matter the fear that it will be overcome. It’s why fallible things make terrible gods to worship. They will be overcome
The Oblationist's who uses chaos weapons in 40K in Warhammer my fantasy character that I created who Is Lance also uses chaos weapons Like Essence taker his sword who has a demon inside it that he conquers within the sword Also it's very chaos made But with some help of morr gifts Lance was able to conquer the Demon Spirit within And be it's comes his sword and his best friend and comrade in arms All in one
Wow. Props to the Inquisition this would actually work. Kind of. ...wait nobody puts THEM down at the end? OK they're a front for Chaos. Eisenhorn's mentor sounds like one.
The monster Slayer, is a joke... simply since, when all the monsters are slain, the worst of them all, lives, the Slayer... ( read it with the grudgingly rough voice of an inquisitor who is beaten and bloodied, grunting with outmost disdain, before one of these inquisitors finishes him...😁)
I think you pretty much got it. The ultimate in deflection, hypocrisy these guys are. How much can you stick to your creed when you've a demon or Chaos Gods whispering in your ear ALL the time?
Fabius Bile realized that the Chaos Gods have no true power only what you give them. He despises the chaos/space marines as he thinks they are weaklings because they cant control themselves.

Another great Inquisition video and just the amount of factions within it is astounding.

Radical Puritans
Actually those are the Libricars. We're gonna get to them.
There is only order and chaos. Chaos can end up in order but not vice versa. Relatively simple equation
40k have their own Sith Lords.
Sweet more Inquisition lore
Dad is a doctor so I was curious to having heard of something to do with the heart. Should have guess it would be the blood angels.

Least unhinged inquisitors.

But if i believe strongly enough, taint can't really taint me!
