I was in Rome (many years ago for a nerd conference)….so I went through immigration and they didn’t stamp my passport, so I asked the guy to stamp it because passport stamps are cool. He looked at me like I was a complete idiot. Then I tried mailing postcards, but the have so many different colored mailboxes and it was so confusing, I just went to the actual post office and handed them to a human and paid for stamps. Then a Vatican City guard got annoyed at me because I didn’t know at the time why they had on those very colorful outfits and asked him. Then I got attacked by mosquitoes and had to find a store that sold anti itch bug bite cream, after renting a car and driving down to Pompeii. Americans are not know for their driving abilities…I was honked at and yelled at….but the food was amazing, and it was absolutely gorgeous there! I overdosed on gelato. I regret nothing. I’ve been to DaVinci airport three times….still no passport stamps😢
@@callmeadreameralex One of the times I was in Ireland, I thought (post alcohol tour) that I was getting on a boat for an “architectural boat tour” (like the ones they do here in Chicago on the lake) and I fell asleep and was woken up by an immigration officer. Turns out it was a ferry to Scotland…..the officer was hysterically laughing at me for a good ten minutes….luckily I did have my passport on me! I even bought a Scotland magnet and such things wandering around before I took the ferry back!

Oh wow, what a crazy story with so much happening. Have you been back to Italy since?
@@callmeadreameralex Yes. I also still have never acquired an Italy passport stamp!
