@@DireWilk they do cut out the beginning when it's twitch vods that they upload on youtube, but when they stream on youtube i guess it's not worth the effort to take the whole 2 hour vod from youtube, put it into an editing program and then export it and put it back on youtube just to get rid of a bit at the beginning when the alternative is to just release it on youtube with one click (that's just how i think it probably works lol, i don't have any actual experience with this stuff)
I think a con of the "personality based content" that people sometimes overlook is that it is the one that mess with people's mental health the most. In this style of content, you are the content, you are the service you're selling, it's way easier to tie personal value and your mental stability with your earnings and failures, which could be even worse in a somewhat unstable career, like UA-cam. That's why there are so many more personality based UA-camrs taking breaks and showing how much their UA-cam career affected their mental health. (sorry if my English is kinda broken, I learned it on my own🙃)
Your English is good! Also, I feel that this also applies to negative comments feeling more hurtful because you put more of yourself into the content you create.
this totally makes sense! the line between you the person and you the creator may be blurred, especially in the eyes of your viewers. i feel like personality-focused content is also the kind that more easily facilitates the forging of the parasocial relationship between creator and viewer which isn't necessarily always a bad thing! these communities can be fun and supportive. creators and audiences alike can benefit from these sorts of connections. however, because your content is basically YOU, sometimes audiences feel empowered enough to believe that they truly know you, that they are your friend and that they can behave and speak to you as if they were (e.g., being rude and insulting creators because "that's how i am with friends!"; constantly bringing up jokes that the creators had expressed they were uncomfortable with because "that can't be true! this is an inside joke with my friend!"). audiences can and have crossed boundaries and creators may have a tough time reestablishing them without (some of) their audience feeling betrayed or robbed of the initial feeling of intimacy that drew them in. it's definitely tough to navigate and takes work on both ends. i don't envy creators in that regard at aaallll
