Here is what I think happened with Pledis and Nu'est and what went really wrong fro them: They tried to expand globally way too quickly before fully understanding how to. Around 2012-2013 Pledis had 2 moderately successful groups under their belt (After School and Nu'est) they likely figured, since they were doing good in Korea, it was time to expand and push them out to China and Japan. This was costly because 1. Nu'est was still a very new group so they didn't quite have a solid fanbase who was willing to wait for them back in Korea, 2. Pledis themselves were still a very new company (only been around for about 5 years at this point) who didn't really know how to do overseas marketing or have the fundings to do so. Basically, Pledis was trying to do what SM Entertainment did with Super Junior and now EXO but failed. They had relied on that questionable company in Japan for thier Japanese promotions and as a result, Nu'est (and After School's) promotions in Japan weren't great and only yield mediocre results. So unfortunately, by the time Pledis brought Nu'est back to Korea, they lost a lot of the Korean fanbase and the company was practically broke because their groups didn't exactly blow up overseas like they had hoped they would. And because of that, the comebacks for both After School and Nu'est became less frequent and Seventeen's debut was delayed. And yes, I do believe the debut and subsequent success of Seventeen did ultimately save the company from going bankrupt. And I think, because Seventeen's success was actually bringing in money, Pledis kind of put their other groups on the back burner and focused on Seventeen. I'm not saying this is the proper way to handle business because its not and its really unfair to the rest of their artists, but in a way, I kind of see why they focused on Seventeen and ignored the rest, because they knew Seventeen was bringing in profit while it was more of a gamble with Nu'est. Again, I don't agree with it, but its just a theory of why Nu'est and After School didn't have much activity after 2015. The idol industry is very competitive, if you don't constantly stay in the spotlight, you can easily be forgotten, which is why groups tend to make 2-3 comebacks a year while western artists can go years between albums. Sometimes, no matter how good your music is, it goes unnoticed if a more popular group happens to be promoting at the same time. On the bright side, Pledis has at least learned from their mistakes with Nu'est and After School's overseas promotions and you can see Seventeen's has been handled so much better. One thing I will say Pledis has always been good is their training. They have always debuted top notch idols who are strong in vocals and dance. Management has always been their downfall.
Truee, I truly believe that Pledis is not as bad, they just make a lot of wrong decisions, they made a lot of mistakes with Nuest and when they understood it, they tried hard not to make the same ones with Seventeen So i definetly wouldn't call Pledis evil or something, i don't think that they genuinely wanted to ruin they careers or something. They were just really bad at management and still are sometimes Also boys seem to have good relationship with Pledis' vice president and managers
@@hiiamnatali definitely. pledis has made their fair share of bad calls and mistakes, but obviously none of them were intentional. it wouldn't make any sense for a company to try and sabotage the only artists they have. people seem to forget the amount of money they invest in training, housing and feeding these teens before they debut them. they want their artists to make money so that the company makes money
@@hiiamnatali yet they still ignore nuest to this day even after they blew up, hang up on producers who call to cast the boys.. And ignore the love calls they get. They lost the hype of 2017..and 2019 by not giving the group much activities and refusing to promote them till they get called out.. I'm glad that seventeen doesn't have to live through this.
One thing I feel like mentioning because its something that has bothered me to this day but wasn't mentioned in the documentary (not that it needed to be) was the fact that Minhyun actually received a lot of unwarranted hate from certain Wanna One fans whenever he mention or made any reference to Nu'est or his members during his time in Wanna One. Some fans ultimately decided that Minhyun was supposed to be Wanna One and Wanna One only and that's still something I don't understand to this day. Mnet once uploaded a clip from a music show when both Wanna One and Nu'est happened to be performing, the clip showed Nu'est members waiting for Minhyun backstage, it got so much hate from Wanna One Minhyun fans that Mnet had to remove that video. He also received hate when he sent a greeting video to LOVEs during a fanmeeting. So it got to the point where he literally couldn't say anything about Nu'est and when they ended up at the same event or stage, they'd actively avoid each other, which was heartbreaking since these boys have been through a lot together. Thankfully, the hate seems to have gone away when Wanna One disbanded because there's no way to deny Minhyun is part of Nu'est. I think this is also why I tend to correct people when they say "Minhyun being in Wanna One saved Nu'est" because that is not the case when he wasn't even able to mention Nu'est the entire time. It was all the boys' hard work on Produce 101, proving to everyone they weren't untalented, and winning over the people who hated or doubted them that ultimately saved the group.
Oh yeah, I will never forgive them for that shit. It was so sad to see them ignoring each other throughout that time period because of those nosy fans.
That's true. Even for Nu'est and L.O.Λ.E metioning 'Minhyun' was like a forbidden word in that time. I remember that back in 2017 when JR just blurted out Minhyun's name in vlive he stopped talking like he had said something cannot be mentioned. And in another vlive (they have to draw one thing they want to do with the members) JR naturally drew 5 people having bbq party and when he notice other members just drew 4 he quietly shaded out one of them. These were really heartbreaking for me in that time. Thankfully these nightmares has already passed away.
The hate didn't really go away, just not as strong. Saying that, I'm just so glad they are still together now; and even more comforting when one of their current comeback back dancer said that their chemistry is just no joke - meaning their friendship didn't really get affected but actually going really strong after a decade.
The PD101 finale was such a sham. There’s simply no way JR didn’t get enough votes to debut! It’s more likely they didn’t want a rapper with such a unique voice in their group and already decided otherwise. All the Pledis artists and CEO himself were so visibly angry on the live show when they realized. It’s not even a secret that Minhyun’s the CEO’s favorite, and I can’t tell you how furious we all were when we realized he was going to be alone for 1.5years when we had already accepted he was leaving, but with JR. After that, Minhyun suffered so much in WannaOne being isolated from NU’EST and expected to play a persona he wasn’t really.. we could see him getting thinner and withdrawing into himself.. and we couldn’t even say anything or comfort him because it would only draw him more hate. That was the worse time in my life loving Minhyun. I cried so much for 2 bloody years.
Their first win being without Minhyun is still so sad to think about, but on the bright side, they finally won together as Nuest for the first time during their first comeback as five last year (bet bet btw) and their second comeback last year gave than an all kill in music shows (a win on every music show they went on for a week) . Produce 101 seriously did so much for Nu'ests Korean popularity, their popularity is comparable to groups like Monsta X and Got7 over there. It sucks they are still not as well known internationally though, they are super hard working, and I don't know many, if any, groups who single handedly saved their own career like Nu'est did
Pledis runs NU'EST again. When Minhyun came back in 2019, the boys all agree to renew contact with Pledis as they really want to be together. They had 2 comebacks in 2019 then, with BET BET & LOVE ME as title songs. Yet, promotions not as good as NU'EST W's time,e.g. lack of appearance in variety shows or having an ost. During NU'EST W, they had ost "Let Me Out' and " And I" & Baekho even got a solo ost " That day, we". The situation in 2020 is even worse . Their debut 8th anniversary was treated coldly, with only one v-live and no celebration. The comeback in late May with the title song "I am in trouble " last for only 2 weeks with bare minimum promotion. JR, the leader, who had participated in a no. of variety shows during NU'EST W is highly praised by the seniors that wworked with him. In an interview for a new variety show, the female hosts of that show said that they wanted NU'EST to appear in their show. They contacted Pledis but got cold response. It's the fans that became angry and JR approached the management and NU'EST finally appeared in the program. One of the female host really treats JR as her son, openly thanked the fans in the program. Ren took his initiative in the audition for a musical and finally succeeded to be the male-lead (altogether 4, by rotation for public performance ). The Pledis staff did nothing to promote Ren's musicals. Fans usually knew about Ren's stuffs related to the musical either thru the ig updates of the other 3 main actors or the organizer's promotion. JR got the chance to be one of the main hosts of a variety show in the past few months and once again Pledis staff failed to promote it. JR updated in his ig to ask fans to watch the program. Baekho recently endorsed j one cosmetic 'a new shampoo line The Wood. The Pledis staff once again ignored this. Thanks for j one that there are a lot of photos, videos (ads) and behind the scenes clips that fans can see the handsomeness & sexiness of Baekho. Fans always sent email or through Twitter or other social platforms to ask for jobs for the boys. We as fans are so mad at Pledis. Even now under Big Hit, they are still being ignored.
I find myself extremely lucky because I found out about NU'EST just when they came out with Overcome, which I found out later on, was the lowest point of their career. I don't know why youtube recommended them to me, but I'm so thankful I could support them as a fan since then. Although I joined them almost 4 years after their debut so much has happened and this video truly feels like a roller coaster whenever I see it. Thank you so much for making reaction to it!

Nuest is my fav group and i already watch this video like 16 times but i always cry, i cry cuz i am happy now but i cry cuz it was hard for them!!now they are really really really popular in korea but they now global fans too, to help in stream cuz chart and sells they are great, but we international fans need more nuest fan to have concerts and views!! we will do it!!!
Please react to NU'EST new Japanese song "Drive" . MV released today. It's after 5 years that they released a Japanese album. ua-cam.com/video/nDVFMv0QEOE/v-deo.html But the MV is not as grand as those in Korean comeback. But fans started to figure out the meaning behind as we can find some relations to their korean MVs. As you know from.the documentary, they had stayed in Japan for more than 1 year, their Japanese is really good.
finding a fan of any pledis group that actually like pledis as a company is impossible. hopefully they are getting better now that they are under bighit lol
they are not getting better, BH is only there for money and nothing more Also as a carat i'm pretty ok with Pledis We are really spoiled with content, Pledis has been promoting them really good for the past 2 years too. Boys also have a lot of shows and solo activities as well. They managers are good and they treat boys well, also vice president is a really good man. Ofc pledis still makes mistakes and does stupid shit but that is something that all companies do... I know 0 companies that are 100% good
Imo as a LOVE since pre-debut, it's largely the fault of fans that they had so many difficulties... their songs and MVs were great from day one to now but people ignored them because they were focused on others. I would even talk about them to friends and those friends would be like "yeah they're okay but idk I can't support more than one group" bull. So it's kpop fans who dropped them and it infuriates me that it is still happening today. They have some of the best discography out of all kpop and people don't care.
i remember their debut people in korea predicting on that time that this group can become the king of kpop industry but due to wrong descision of pledis they ruin nuest but thanks to God now nuest have a huge fanbase in korea i also remember nuest was went to america for a concert along with exo on that time but.......long story short now nuest is making their own music from lyrics to dance and they are getting their recognition

tysm for reacting to this video!! looking forward to your next nu'est reactions
Yessss the top tier group
oh prepare your tissues for produce 101, it's a whole rollercoaster joyride of emotions, are you ready to adopt 101 traineess?
Despite of being rigged, Produce 101 season 2 (and The Unit) is the best survival show to me. You should watch them.
Please react to NU'EST new Japanese song "Drive" . MV released today. It's after 5 years that they released a Japanese album.

But the MV is not as grand as those in Korean comeback. But fans started to figure out the meaning behind as we can find some relations to their korean MVs. As you know from.the documentary, they had stayed in Japan for more than 1 year, their Japanese is really good.
finding a fan of any pledis group that actually like pledis as a company is impossible. hopefully they are getting better now that they are under bighit lol
they are not getting better, BH is only there for money and nothing more
Also as a carat i'm pretty ok with Pledis
We are really spoiled with content, Pledis has been promoting them really good for the past 2 years too. Boys also have a lot of shows and solo activities as well. They managers are good and they treat boys well, also vice president is a really good man.
Ofc pledis still makes mistakes and does stupid shit but that is something that all companies do...
I know 0 companies that are 100% good
still waiting for the Nuest comeback cause Seventeen will make a come back again in October.
hopefully Pledis don't ruin Nuest again.
Correct me if I'm wrong,i heard nuest will make comeback with full album in japan at 7th this month.
Nu’est is the best. Just the best. And pledis is the worst. PERIODT.
God you are totally correct about pledis
I cried a lot when i was watching this video TT
i remember their debut
people in korea predicting on that time that this group can become the king of kpop industry but due to wrong descision of pledis
they ruin nuest
but thanks to God now nuest have a huge fanbase in korea
i also remember nuest was went to america for a concert along with exo on that time but.......long story short now nuest is making their own music from lyrics to dance and they are getting their recognition
We are now 2021 ,I’m still waiting for pledis to learn more things from what happened .
Im in love with this group
Oh wow I’m EARLY early
🥰🥰🥰
