I hope low views and likes don’t discourage you guys from continuing the quality and consistency of these videos. I hope it’s, at its core, is a passion project. Because I throughly enjoy these videos. Never change!!
40k views in 1 day is good considering they have 143k subs that 35% of all subscribers are watching , that’s a really good ratio in reality
You guy's are like a bunch of teenage boys trying to figure out how to break stuff, I'm enjoying every moment!
This reminds me of when I was in high school during the mid 90s building cars with my buds if you saw a Japanese car at the drag strip(local road that is mostly straight for a quarter mile) like the 82 280z we built with a gm 400sm block , when u shift it would squat so hard we would tear off the exhaust to the headers...we were so dumb that thing was all motor ..we all almost died racing it like 5 times over ..it had so much oversteer
Looks like it's time for a line lock or trans brake and a higher stall converter
Yes!!!!! So many videos lately, I am loving it!
We are blasting them out! Just having fun over here. Thanks for watching, really appreciate it!
I'm guessing since you said that you "slapped it all together ", you have more than you think. I think it will run around 12.3 sec on the 1/4 @ 120-125 mph.
Great content and love the builds. .... You might want to bring the forklift to the track to do burnouts, as a backup plan .. lol😂
Wow, you’re a cockeyed optimist! The car MIGHT crack into the 12’s but with that mild 350 it won’t crack 110. My guess is mid 13’s at around 100-105. I personally think Tony is a little optimistic on the HP estimate for that 350.
🤣Strap it to the dumpsteer, Tony looked soooo serious I spit my coffee on my desk laughing.
@𝑹𝒆𝒂𝒍𝑺𝒕𝒂𝒚𝑻𝒖𝒏𝒆𝒅 Tony I don't know how to do that, love that i won something
You guys are dangerous and reckless......I love it!
Will be interested to see what it runs- a bigger stall will definitely help
Hooking an RX7 to a dumpster for burnouts is exactly the Brand™ of dirtbaggery I expect from Tony & crew
The drag strip won't lie when it comes to horsepower and weight that's for sure. Loving this fun build. If it's 2600lbs and 340 engine horsepower, launching perfectly like that, you could theoretically go 11's. But nothing is ever perfect, and we don't know how it will go in the top end.. once sorted I reckon you could go 12.5 @ 113
It probably doesn't weigh that even. And those things it's hard to break the tires loose without a stick even with the V8. I don't remember if this chassis was a turbo originally, but if it was, they have even better suspension and 4 piston calipers on the front with absolutely MASSIVE pads from the factory. And then they have slicks and auto. Gone be tough to get a proper burnout on dry asphalt
@@philbert006 They said it was a non turbo in a previous ep, but they have swapped in the turbo rear end to make it beefier. The squat is fantastic, so keen for this
‘If we don’t get this car to do a burn out today… We are going to lose the shop’
Love how the shop space is in the back of an active gas station😂 Makes doing burnouts there that much funnier😂
Hahaha, this is one the best NE mentality just good old fun car videos I’ve watched in a while! I Miss Philly and NJ!!!
It's trying to tell you it's a drag car.
Not with that stock rear end and axles! Put any power to it with a sticky tire and those parts will be laying all over the starting line!! 🤣
This is literally my new favorite car channel because of hagerty love your content guys!!
When I saw the title I was worried that the car blew up. So glad that wasn't the case.
AZN from Street Outlaws has been sniffing that stuff for years.. it explains a lot.
I'm loving this, I raced a few 2nd gen RX7's for years in time attack. they really do just love being pushed harder and harder, Mine was making about 550hp on the rotary but 1/4 mile is a whole new monster.
That is a real cool neighborhood, no Karens calling the cops about noise. Love it, badass Rx
My best guess is 13.1. Good luck! ✌️
Always great content here from you guys! Keep your chin up on the stinkin Lincoln. Ferds are tough to get right. Talk to Kenny at PTC converters and get an 8 inch done right on a lightweight opel GT converter core for your small block Mahsduh! A tight and efficient 8” is a world of difference better vs a loose 10” converter. Get some shirts made in 2XL tall and I will buy several!
You make track Burnouts look easy. All you need is stripper glitter and a forklift. Im sure the track officials wont have any issues with a forklift on the track
Yeah, they are usually pretty cool. Just let me slide in here with this Yale unit sir.
"You wanna go?!" --this car
Oh hell yeah just checked and you carry big boy sizes!!! Shirt ordered, can't wait til the "We're gonna lose the shop" are back in stock
We just got them made! They will be back on the site soon! Thanks for all the support!
"Smells like acetone and a good time" should be a shirt lol
I’ve got one word for you NITROUS!!!
Tony, just lovin the channel. You’re going from strength to strength. I’m picking 12.2 @115. Standing bye!
Great burnout guy's! My guess is, It'll run a 12.7 on the first pass. After you do some tuning on the engine and some suspension work you might see some low 12's. Can't wait to see it run down the track!
I had a 92 with a rotary it was the same . Just squat and go . I loved that thing
Hell yeah buddy great content
Now you'll have to tug-of-war it with the Lincoln, eventually... 🤘
I want to see more about the SWEET M715 you keep showing in the background. 5/4 tons for the win.
Can't wait for the stay-tuned branded coveralls. Props to the other dude that said it in the lincoln comments.
Bro a race vs the Mark 8 would be interesting. At least a 13 flat on first pass for the Mazda.
The Mark 8 should smoke this thing, if it ever stays together more than 25 minutes.
A higher stall speed would really help with this.
I'm going to guess 12.0's @ 114mph based on weight & horsepower, plus the general bugs of a new car. I hope you do well & love the car. Keep up the good work, Tony and the crew!
solid 14s there hahaha, good luck!
Good episode! More turbo S-10 please
Keep On Keepin On.. it's going to take off.
line lock
It's just an auto, my foot works ok! Might help take some brake off the rear though.
You could always take the forklift to the track with you, easier getting it off the trailer that way😅
You got line lockers lads? Or a couple of the brake line clamps for caliper repairs 😉
Put a higher stall in that thing. It needs it! You can hear the engine get pulled down once you leave the line.
Love the build and content, I suspect you'll be working to break 13.0 with that setup. Sounds cynical but I've lived the SBC life and a 13.0 was a solid car through the 90's and this is totally a 90's style setup.
Put a small pair of vice grips on the rear rubber line and try that
I think it's gunna be a mid 12 second bracket burner!!
Vice Grips on the rear brake hoses.
Maybe line lock front electric brakes might help with tires getting warm 😮
Can't wait for track day!✌️❤️🙂🇨🇦
I was drooling over that M715 sitting behind ya'll.
I think it will do 12.20 in the 1/4 mile.
Looks like fun. Making me rethink my future drag truck plans.
Tony done let all the smoke out of it!
nice one!
Hey Tony Love the RX-7 LST
Great first timer car! Just do a Japanese-to-American engine swap on the 2-post lift in your garage & you're good to go!
Great build guys. Guessing 11.50s
Wicked ride
What's up yoous guys, Tony I love Stay Tuned, all your Guys are great and no bullshit!! That being said, and this has nothing to do with stay tuned, But you and Lucky Were great together, sorry y'all had to split. Again great channel!!!!👍🍌🍕
Thanks for watching man! Appreciate it! HRG was a blast but happy to move on and do something from PA.
Did you try line lock? Is that an expensive mod? I would love to see a step by step on line lock.
Does this still have front and rear sway bars? I have a fc rx7 5.0 c4 white same wheels lol and it squats to much even with coilovers. Was wondering if sway bars would help this issue. Thanks
Needs more NOS!😂 Tony add some nitrous! 🔥🔥🔥🔥
It seems like a 13 second car. Light weight and 340ish horses. That seems like the fun zone where you dont blow it up on the first day.
That slick will take way more air, sounds like it doesn't have a quick timing curve, or a poor pump shot setup. Locked timing, 35s, and a blue cam out front it probably will snap way harder. I'd love to tweek that carb 😁
Smells like acetone and a good time...🤠
just a guess, there may be an issue with the brakes.(bleed? better pads? bad master cylinder? bad booster? not enough vacuum?) i've never tried burnouts with slicks on the street, but I doubt i'd have a problem. I have zero problems doing burnouts in my RX at the track, using a line lock. then when I launch I bring it up on the converter & go; on the prepped track, if I go above 2K it will push through the brakes... so depending on the stall speed of the converter, it may be a lower RPM for this car.
my guess- times on the strip will be ~13 sec for this setup.
like I said on the other video- Ronin speedworks for camber links to get a little better contact patch, remove sway bars, & 12" x 2.5" coilover springs(150#/in is a good start) w/adjusters in the rear.
personal pet peeve here- frontrunners that stick out past the fenders on these cars. I use a deeper offset wheel, 1st gen NSX spare wheels to be exact... but there are several cheap options for 17" wheels...
1/4mile prediction: who's driving? 1 blown head gasket, with coolant vomiting at the top end.
I guess thats one way to do it! Sounds like a dump 🚚! Keep having fun!!!!
You've built your equal Tony
Take it drifting
Awesome
whooohoooo yeah buddy !!!
My FC hates burnouts too, i have to either roll backwards, to break traction, otherwise it will try to push the front wheels. Thinking about getting a line lock, just to help
A line lock will help a lot.
The rear disc brakes are dragging too much and not allowing the wheel speed to come up. A line lock will allow you release the rear brakes completely. So you can do a more consistent and repeatable burnout. Which is what you want for drag racing.
Be careful sniffing the stripper glitter, it’s more than likely got MEK in it.
If it hooks, be happy with that !
Awesome yo'.
1;4 mile 12.8@108. Hopefully it launches that hard at the track. Need a trans brake for that little ripper!
That asphalt is gonna ruin those slicks 😂. I say it'll go high 11's in the quarter.
This is almost a commercial for how grippy Mickey Thompsons are. 🤣🤣🤣. HellYeah Stay Tuned.
Mickeys are the truth but the thing only has 340 horse at the flywheel supposedly so it ain't gonna be that hard to get it to hook up with a rwd setup.
you have to make some laguna pipes for it.
12.9@112MPH
I think lower ET, but that MPH is probably spot on. (according to my butt dyno)
Why do I feel like Iv been pranked this whole video hahah
Needs a converter...
It has a low buck 10 inch converter in it from Summit. I think we could have gone looser.
@@StayTunedTA I just used that same one in my Camaro and it totally roasts the tires now. :)
I'm gonna guess it'd probably do a burnout no problem if you swapped out the slicks for street tires
@@CarsandCats well he wanted to get the tires hot and see how good the car would launch
@@a456987 but if it’s got all the traction, warming them up won’t make any difference to the launch, It’s already got traction!
Mr. B. Here ! Rice rocket 🚀🚀🚀🚀🍺🍺🍺🍺👍👍👍👍
It needs a line lock...had the same issue with one years ago...oy difference was it had a Ford small block
Glad to see that trying to make it do a burnout didn’t break anything 😂 this car wants to go!
YES! It's ready to rock, can't wait to run it in the 1/4 mile.
