Epic! Lived at Anga on the point for a few years and in Yamba over a 40 year period, surfed there since 75'. Great mates with Rod, Thorts, Lindsay, JW, Monty, Will and many other crew, Baddy included, Yamba boy, Grub Johnson and I surfed Angas often in the 70's, suppose I'm just trying to say this footage evokes a great kindred spirit inside me towards my favourite wave in the world. Was offered land on the point in the 70's for 8 grand, oh dear.... haaa. Used to camp in the bushes between Spooks and the Point and hide from Skinner (the ranger) in the 70's early 80's, thank you for posting a great clip...... Amen....
Last time I saw Midget was '85 at Ho'okipa mentioned he was a great inspiration to us kids. Later, heard he was doing things for other kids, Narra or somewhere in2000s. Was good to see that face (i never accepted a board over about 6 1/2 Lbs. He started that lightness thing, ya know.) here.

In 1969 I was a kid tearing tickets at the door of Sydney Uni theatre when Splashdown
premiered - a year later I surfed 6’ Angourie.
Love this story! Not much better than 6ft Angers!

Great footage. Top surfing considering the period of board design. Midget really had a nice cutback!
We agree!
Things were fine in ‘69….. groovy times man✌️❤️
Surfed Angourie from ‘64, just a mate and me day after day.
Then movies like this gave it away.
You were lucky!!
Don't think it was movies. It was those horseless carriages.
👍😎
Geez that board looked skinny and difficult to surf great surfer on a unforgiving board. How wide were they. Just before my time I'm 62
Great surfers. Pretty good for ‘69 especially!
Yeah. I totally hated that "minigun" frenzy. Nobody who rode one could turn, even at + pipeline.
Looks like honolua bay to me
I think you missed some days at Honolua...
