Went there in 2015 with Go Russia, did MAKS and kubinka tank museum too! Worth every penny. As a life long aviation enthusiast, Monino was a dream come true!! Can't recommend it enough!!! ♥️ From 🇬🇧

Thank you for this very interesting tour of the museum at Monino, the museum certainly has a rich and comprehensive collection of Soviet aircraft types some of which are very rare,it must be a mammoth task in looking after this collection and signs of canopy protection from the elements by masking the plexiglass and painting are evident, the hangar exhibits alone reveal some early birds but I would say the Fokker Dr.1 triplane replica is more likely to be a Sopwith Triplane type.
With so many rare machines exposed to the elements something needs doing to preserve them for the long term future, the internal corrosion is starting to push through on many of the airframes.

Superbe visite, qui mériterait bien plus de Likes, même si quelques erreurs (Sopwith Triplane et Mig-9). C'est triste de voir toutes ces reliques pourrir à l'extérieur!

1:52 it is Sopwith Triplane nor Fokker Dr.1 9:17 it's MiG-9 not La-15. La-15 got very similar design to MiG-15. Anyway great video

I visited this museum in May 2016 and several of the aircraft in this video appeared to be absent, for example PE-2, A-20, P-63.
I think there are eight missing aircraft. Could anybody tell me where these aircraft are. If they are at the museum I must have missed a hanger.

a lot of equipment costs in other closed territory, waits for repair and restoration, a detail on some old planes already rare and expensive, and sponsors aren't enough, people just want to look at beautiful planes... they gradually repair them and expose for visitors, but it takes a lot of time...

Why don't they just build a museum around the planes and helicopters outside?? The Sukhoi T4 and the Tupolev Tu144 and Mil 12 twin rotor and Beriev that looks like something from Star Wars at 5:18 are all nice, rare, and expensive aircraft. The experimental ones inside the museum are nice but not as nice or expensive as the ones outside.
    Excellent video though!

    2:12 - lol, somebody's dog
Seriously though, absolute tragedy to see so many priceless relics exposed to the elements like that. They will quickly die in the Russian winters that way.
