It's funny how all our lives all seem to be interconnected in the ways that they are . Last month I was at a live audience for a taping of Steve Paiken's TV show: the other day, I was in Los Angeles CA and I found Leonard Nimoy's star on Hollywood's Walk of Fame that I searched for. I remember 'first runs' of Star Trek and the inspiration that every show left with me and how anything space related is still at the forefront on my interest today. I went to California because of the tour that NASA's JBL puts on once a year and then I went to the Griffith Observatory where the "Leonard Nimoy Event Horizon Theater" is located. This man has left his mark in more ways than can be counted. Live long and prosper.
One of the most profound thoughts I've ever heard was in an episode of Trek, the perfect response to a bully. "No, I object to you. I object to intellect without discipline, I object to power without constructive purpose."
If Mr Nimoy had been there when TheShat did his "Get a Life" thing, it would have turned out better WSjust tries to be funny, and doesn't succeed very well part of the time. When LN is there, he will take what WS says, points out it could be insulting, then gives it to the people in a way that is funny, but he gives WS the credit I love Mr Nimoy. He is a one of a kind person with a beautiful soul and who is as highly intelligent as his alter ego
To think Nimoy said the world was complex in 1993 just baffles me. I think many people would prefer the complexity of 1993 over the complexity of today's world
I salute you vulcan all Leonard Nimoy you left us for other stars, you died (eventualy we all) but mr. Spock can never die. Thank you for that mr. L. Nimoy. R.I.P.
I always wanted to be him. Spock.. He made that series The whole cast needed each other to keep the cohesion of the ideals that Gene set in motion. Science Fiction eventually becomes Science Fact. When you think that Star Trek was cancelled 6 weeks before the moon landing?!!! Who's dreaming now
i love his voice sooooo much. i think in a way spock has probably had an influence on him. After playing a wise, logical being for so long, it's probably,in a way, rubbed off on him.
i have his book 'I am Spock'...it's awesome!! i think he's the kind of guy you wanna hug or shake his hand...i think if i hugged him i'd pass out from excitement! a legend!
I cannot fathom NASA scientists not being fans of Star Trek. My dad is an engineer (his speciality being the science of light) enjoys Star Trek, has a passion for aerospace engineering, is himself a fan of the people at NASA. There are just far too many overlapping factors for me to not believe NASA scientists are fans of Star Trek.
Data is a spock wannabe. they tried to make an intelligent character in leonard's place and tried to make data seem smarter and more logical than nimoy but fails miseribly. spock strikes a perfect balance of logic and emotion and he is in a league of his own.
@Apocfetau You aren't alone. I have the whole "Spock vs Q" CDs. :D I was born in 92. Started with occassional TNG (my aunt watched it), but I didn't get into it until the new movie. Yes, the plot was kind lame, but it was a good looking movie. It made me think about what TOS was like, so I began with that. Seen most of TOS, if not every episode, and am currently working my way through TNG. I call myself a Trekkie. I don't like Trekker. :P
Now that's not quite fair. If you're going to compare to outtakes, compare to outtakes from TOS, not the movies. By STIV, Nimoy had been acting - and playing Spock - for the better part of his life. Quinto can get there, he's just got to learn to reign in the intensity.
@sondano True, Spock felt a lot more dangerous in the movie. I actually saw more resemblance to Mirror Spock than normal Spock. It probably had something to do with the actor splitting his time between rehearsing for Star Trek and playing a psychopathic serial killer. Who may or may not be cannibalistic, reports are mixed.
Ya. I've always looked up to spock and data because of their logic. I've always wanted more of it in my life. I admire the pursuit of science and understanding, purely from a logical point of view. This role is not one that just anyone can play. It's like this latest incarnation of star trek... they have spock battling with his emotions and often exploding. This would be uncharacteristic for the older spock, but maybe expected of a younger spock. Still, I'm not as interested in the younger one.
what mr.Nimoy says at the end, used to mean something in Trek. now a Generation grew up with the Borg war, Dominion war, Xindi war, action, horror, death and destruction. maybe fun for a action movie/show but its not Star trek. and everything went downhill with the pointless death of Kirk.
cheryl resnick-cortes wow a reply to a comment I made 12-years-ago! That must be a new record. I’m a huge fan of both Leonards. I suppose this was my sense of humour when I was 22 😄
I'm not as interested in the younger one precisely because it's the logic that attracted me to spock. When that's take away, there's a part of me that's lost and looks to find something to replace it. So far the new star trek hasn't filled that void.

Hard to pinpoint exactly what makes Leonard Nimoy so adorable. He just is. 💚
He always seems like such a classy, well grounded, wise fellow.
Thank you, Mr. Nimoy, I'm very touched. Star Trek kept me going through some very difficult times.

If Nimoy had waked up in the middle of Shatner's SNL rant and given him a Vulcan nerve pinch, that would've been freakin hilarious.
I hope your enjoying heaven sir.
I really hope he found Peace there, especially after his long suffering. 🙏❤️R. I. P Dear Mr Nimoy! You are a true Legend. ❤️
Leonard Nimoy has the most comfortable sweaters EVER. Just look at it.
Thank you, Mr. Nimoy. For everything. You are still very much missed in 2022. Good, you didn't live to see what it came to...

strangely he is sooo much sexier with the grey beard... lovin it

Spock was the first adult I could relate to as a 7 year-old back in '66. I so wanted to be him.
I love him so much :(, he was so precious and a good person. So beautiful
I always wanted to be him.
Spock..
He made that series
The whole cast needed each other to keep the cohesion of the ideals that Gene set in motion.
Science Fiction eventually becomes Science Fact.
When you think that Star Trek was cancelled 6 weeks before the moon landing?!!!
Who's dreaming now
Nimoy looks so damn cool here. Looks like Ringo Starr!
He is wise and understanding of life.
His voice...he can make you believe anything.
Ahh.. This makes me feel so small, This video was taken the year I was born in the city next to mine. He's so damn awesome..
Nimoy looking like a badass he's awesome!!!!
Nimoy thought the world back in 1993 was complicated? He couldn't have known what was to come.
this guy's so badass, he can eat your eyes raw and get an award for it
Is it possible to not love this man?
And I TOTALLY agree with what he says about Trekkers/Trekkies... ^_^
It is always the actor. Without Nimoy, there would have been no Spock as we know him.
And it is logical that he would show his emotions......After all, He is a "Child of Two Worlds".
Leonard Nemoy is very articulate and insightful!
Go Leonard, very well spoken!
I've always liked him. His character has always been one of my faves. Spock, Bones and Scotty in that order
this man is a damn good actor and role model for are young people and anyone with sifi in there blood.
Yeah I totally agree, Nimoy seems like a very kind old man. ;]
I love Nimoy. He seems like a great guy, he played Spock, he voiced Galvatron in Transformers...
I.love you always Leonard. My Thy'la.
Looks good with a beard
A lot different from the one he wore in "Mirror Mirror," as a parallel world counterpart.
That’s Leonard?
I really enjoyed it. Thanks for posting
Good points from LN. Cool look.
Man, Nimoy seems like really cool guy to have as an uncle or something.
Along with Takei.

I seem to remember something from"I Am Spock" to the effect that Spock became sort of a role model to him in some situations.
bill was just joking. not pc thank god. people need to chill. nimoy will always defend his best friend and vice versa
