Ess is dry and thin sounding, I have given up on Ess.. Like you, give me an AKM or Burr-Brown...DSD goes up to 1000 something, but you can't get it anywhere, even 512 is kinda overkill.. 256 is audibly better then 128, however.. So maybe getting near the limits of the ear. What cca all ba set do you have? How would you compare this to the Fiio Q3? Can you plug a dongle into it and use just as an amp?
@@pragmatic_audio_reviews To me CS seems to be very dependant on the implementation, the chip has a lot of options that manufacturers of dacs often don't use, as well. Like auto gain (impedence matching). So far I like them, but still prefer AKM's or Burr's.. But set up right they can be fantastic.. Lots of micro detail, but a musical signature, at the same time. Texas Instruments, I only know their opamps, which are really good. Transparent. Also used as low pass filters.
looks like the hip dac 2 which I own
And that looks like the Hip-Dac 1, they kept the looks so far for three generations... ☺
is there any channel imbalance at low volume ?
Great question, I'm actually listening it now working, it's on low volume and there is no imbalance even on very low volume.

Oh yes Burr is so wonderful, how do you like Cirus logic and Texas instruments

Is the battery life better than the 2?, mine is mediocre.
It's been improving up the line
Boston area yes?
😊 yes
I'm about to make a tough decision. hipdac 3 or cayin ru7?
Hip has one drawback is it's battery powered but this is also a plus because it doesn't drain your phone
@@pragmatic_audio_reviews Yes that is right. Almost all I care about is sound quality.
@@sieoradan the Ru is going to me more detailed and neutral, the hip will have that warm burr brown, ifi sound quality that is so rich
@@pragmatic_audio_reviews Which would be your personal preference? I love warm sound.
@@sieoradan definitely the hip
Got one on the way to compare against the go blu
The blue is a great little gadget
@@pragmatic_audio_reviews does the hip Dac 3 also have x space or only x space ? The go blu has both
Where you get that keyboard bro?
Amazon, I've seen similar ones there and RGB models too
