I'm watching this video 4 years later but just wanted to say thank you so much for making this video! I have a 2018 model HP All-in-One and now 6 years later the 1 TB Seagate HDD that came with it just slowed to an absolute crawl. I tried reinstalling the OS several times over the years but nothing would fix it from just sitting there churning the hard drive while taking, no joke, anywhere from 60 seconds to 4 minutes just to open the browser. I had no idea how to take this thing apart but thanks to your video I had the courage to attempt it in order to swap the HDD for a fast SSD. Everything went smoothly even if it was challenging to pop out all those tabs on the white cover and around the screen. I got the drive swapped out, everything put back together and the computer is working great now, browser pops open almost immediately. Thanks again!
I got a more up to date version of this pc, HP 24 - f0047c, and so far this is the only video I've seen that's not only similar to it, but shows and explains how to disassemble it. Thank you for the video
Thank you for putting this video up. I was nervous to take my customer's computer apart because I have never worked on one of these all in ones before. I will be re watching as I work on the PC.
Thanks for the update. I’m glad to hear that Tanner is doing well. You presented this content well. I’m sure it will help save other people some busted screens and may also influence buying decisions based on component accessibility considerations.
Very helpful. I almost broke the screen to my mother's All-in-One until I saw the entire video. Hers has an M.2 slot so I'll be installing that and upgrading the RAM.
I tried opening mine up today to check if the HP Support website was correct about it having a couple of M.2 slots, but couldn't quite find all the clips around the screen. I could see the ones at the top and I'm pretty I sure I got them all un-clipped, but when I looked into the gaps on the left and right, I didn't see anything in there. I will try again some other time, but today I just gave up and put it back together because I didn't want to accidentally break the screen (especially since I really need it working right now to finish some online schoolwork before my school year ends next week!) I got it all assembled again and thankfully it still works perfectly, thanks for the great tutorial!
after playing around with some old laptops recently, opening them up and swapping hard drives, I am feeling confident enough to try opening the HP again. I'll post again here to let you know how it goes!
Thank you so much for this video! This is the only one that really goes in depth regarding how to take the LCD cover off; good thing I didn't attempt before watching this, I had no idea there were tabs all around it that needed to be pryed apart first. Managed to get all the components exposed, so we'll be trying to upgrade the RAM when the new sticks arrive (it only had 8GB) :)
Coming back to this video 2 years later and to my own comment lol. It was a success btw, but now we're doing the big one (swapping the HDD for a snappy new SSD). This video is still invaluable information on taking it all apart, thanks again!
When you pull out the monitor cable please do not pull on it like he did. Thw white peice of the connection on the motherboard is a clip. Please gentle pop that clip up. And the ribbon cable with smoothly pull out with no resistance. This will keep Pins on ribbon cable from being damaged. Other then that this is a GREAT tutorial.
Thanks for mentioning the snaps around the edge of the screen. Probably saved me from breaking the screen trying to get it out. Very helpful video. Thanks!
Look up the part number of the LCD, you might be able to find a replacement cheap enough to be worth it. Or look up the datasheet and find out what signal it uses, then replace the LCD with any LCD of the same resolution that accepts the same signals. If nothing else, turn it into a home server.
Thanks for the video. Was having a little trouble getting the screen out (needed to run around the side clips). I don't know why this thing had a 3.5" mechanical drive in it. Was awful, so put a 2.5" SSD in for a friend. Nice to know there is M.2 in there as well.
Cheers dude, gave me enough clues to replace the CMOS battery - why didn't they make it rechargable ! I'd have definitley cracked something without this vid
Very helpful. I dont think I could get this thing taken apart without your help. Too bad the m.2 drive I put in does not seem to play nice with this computer.
Thank you so much for this video, the best one I've found thus far, my CP stopped booting and I didn't hear the fan or any other components like the fan, running at all. I thought it was over for my PC and wanted to retrieve the hard disk, but as I opened the front cover, I pulled out every wire and sets of wires with a quick release, pull the cards and placed them back without touching the connectors, and put it all back, one at the time, still, PC didn't work until I replaced the 2032 battery that is inside almost dead center on the panel, then I'm
I’ve been really lucky with my computer. I think this type of this brand computer is very hardy. I have issues will falling asleep if I’m not doing something that will keep me from falling asleep, but anyway I had head butted mine twice and knocked it off the cabinet it sets on at least 5 times. Well on the 2nd or 3rd time down I cracked the lover corner with a spot that looks like it was struck by a hammer and there are a few sprier web veins, hardly in the way and the thing still ran correctly. Well the other day on it’s last fall and a hit taken in the upper right corner but a little toward the center which also has a few veins off of it. This time it also knocked the on/off switch popped out, and the thing is still running!!! My last one ended up with hard drive issues which we got a new hard drive for. That things were
@@TannerTech Just now seeing your reply. Thanks again for the video. He got the whole screen unit so it was an easy replacement. I've done quite a bit of PC building and repair but never had an all-in-one apart before. The disassembly was a little different but it turned out great. He is very happy to have it back.
I just opened one up for a friend and noticed that it has a NVME slot, so we ended up just adding an NVME, reloading windows and just using the old drive for storage. Now its way faster than before.
Ooh that sounds really nice, I might try that with mine someday, do you know which one it was? Mine says 24-f1047c on the box, maybe I will be able to do the same if it's the same model.

Thank you for this video, I took apart a different all-in-one, I was lucky enough to not break the screen but this one is slightly different it seemed a little more difficult. I would have also broke the screen if I didn't see this video. Thank you thank you thank you for the upload!
I have one of those HP all in one computers, and definitely want to upgrade the hard drive size. Also I would love to upgrade the horrible web cam that is inside my HP all in one. It is horrible. I had to use on of my USB connecting Web cams from a desktop to get good video. Pretty crazy they put junk in the web cam.
Great video and thank you so much. The HP version of this job leaves off critical things likes screws to remove and more. I think the HP video is designed so you break the device and need to replace it then...
Great vid, although you just convinced never to buy one of these again. I had a Mac before which allowed for easy RAM upgrades. It’s so frustrating that the HP doesn’t allow for the same ease of access. That said, I won’t be going back to Mac either.

Besides knowing that tabs along the edge need to be pry off cautiously, anything else you can share to avoid breaking the replacement screen when replacing? Thanks.
Thanks for this video. It helped me make the decision not to buy an all in one. It's designed to not be repairable and I repair all my devices myself. It should open from the back and not the screen.
