I watched it and it's fucking awful I seriously wish they didn't make it and I hope it gets cancelled rather than they continue it. It's a lesbian black power fantasy in which all the white characters get killed except one Native American and the women easily beat up and kill tons of men and all the characters are awful and cringe and one-dimensional.

I've always loved the Ark music, not sure why but that has always been the best part for me, the composer deserves a lot of credit.

This looks great! Looks like we’ll be getting some well needed lore too. I love how the creature designs are staying true to the game, being so recognisable as the ark dinos, but in a different animation stile. Also with that para we finally know where that free parasaur skin came from. And given it’s called the season 1 trailer there will likely be more seasons after this, potentially going to other maps
I hope there will be more seasons. I actually heard someone thinking about how each season should involve the other maps like Aberration or Scorched Earth.

This one hits hard. My brother passed away literally the day before this trailer came out. Ark was his favourite game and we’d play religiously before he got sick. Man he’d love to watch this. I’m currently building a small base in his honour on a pve server on Ragnarok because it was the map we’d play on the most. He went by Rango in game and everyone on the server we’d play on knew him by that

Thank you all for your kind replies. Never even thought anyone would read this comment. The server is called Occult 5x unofficial PC server. It used to be much bigger but now it’s just PVE. I unfortunately am not as patient or talented a builder as he was but I’ve made a small base and when I have time in the future I may make a fully decorated base in his honour

I met my best friend playing this game. She literally moved across the country to my city and we still play. It’s so cool reading all the comments of people who were also touched by this game. So happy the company survived all the bugs and updates and so glad y’all kept playing and interacting with the developers enough to keep this whole thing going. If it’s still out I’ll prolly be playing ark when I’m 72.

For those confused by the first quarter of the trailer; Helena's wife, Victoria Walker, joins an unspecified high risk mission and is killed. The grief-struck Helena is implied to overdose and die, her consciousness then awakening in a new body on the Island through her 'engrammic matrix' having been recovered and stored far in the future by the people behind the ARK project, then planted on the Island ARK. The matrix was basically a freshly discovered part of the brain that remained recoverable even after many years of decay, capable of storing the person's DNA, personality and memories - this is why the ARKs are populated by people from vastly different cultures and time periods. Cue the epic but not very well known story of Helena and the other explorer note writers.

They're going a lot deeper into Helena's life before arriving on the Ark then I expected. Really wish we got a release date but any news is great at this point.
I definitely wish there was a release date. However, there was confirmation that the show is already completely finished. Obviously nothing is for sure yet, but I sort or figure the reason its delayed for 2023 is because there’s a lot going on right now with SOTF and the Switch port, so the show needs a later release so everything can have some attention. I bet it will be very early 2023 release

There is something about Gerard Butler saying "Do you not realize what can happen when a man defies the gods!?" that awakens something nostalgic yet primal inside me heart, only to be followed by the banger of a line "Give me a thousand lives and I will give you a thousand deaths!" HOLY SHI-
The funny thing is by now it's almost definitely finished, but they can't find a streaming platform to put it on. Been in post production since August last year I believe, usually its 12 months maximum and even thats pretty odd.

But what is missing in cinema is character developments, We want pain, suffering, character purpose, goals, feelings and thoughts.

Never would I have imagined that I would fall in love with a game that would someday have an animated series voiced and produced by such an incredible lineup... I just wanted to ride a Triceratops and the game actually changed my life in a lot of ways. I have met and lost so many friends through this game, I fell in love with someone across the globe and had my heart broken all because of this game. I am so excited for this animated series and for Ark 2! Thank you for all the amazing memories and fun you have given me, It's been a pleasure to see Ark grow from when I joined in the early days of EA to now starting it all new again. I cant believe its been so long.

Unironically, this is the best thing to happen with ARK.
I really like the crature designs, there is something strangely nostalgic about it, and hopefuly the story will end up well represented.
have you watched Avatar: The Last Airbender before? The style is similar, I think that it's the same studio which is why I think that it could be familiar while looking at the creature designs

I also see a lot of resemblence with Land of the Dinosaurs, specifically for the Tyrannosaurs.

Things I've noticed, First Meiyin is the one who fights the broodmother, helena uses a tek rifle which normally wouldn't be seen until Abberation in the notes. A leeds attacked a megalodon. Helena fighting, more interactions with Nerva who she only would have met after the Megapithicus fight. Rather then athena the argentavis, helena is here seen riding a parasaur mostly and carrying around a dodo. The meiyin meeting also seems to be different.
Edit 1: Meiyin and Nerva meet on the battlefield rather then at the overseer arena. There is also a lack of guns, something we know the new legion had and used.
The current story is amazing, i hope the animated actually stays close to the actual lore.
@bonemarrow3439 I hope so too, would suck if they changed it too much, especially Rockwell, Helena, and Meiyin. They have such good story arks and it would suck if they ruined it by changing the story too drastically.

This voice cast is actually nuts, and the exec producers is insane, hard to believe this little game I started playing in 2015 is getting this big. Some of the most best times I've had playing video games was experiencing Ark, hope this show can capture some of that feeling for people

I'm blown away that they actually went back in-game to have some of the voice cast actually do the explorer's notes. Started playing solo on Scorched Earth recently after a couple years hiatus and it couldn't believe I was hearing David Tennant as Rockwell from one of the original non-Genesis related entries.

I am and have been and will continue to be SO excited for this, holy crap, I hope they go through all the core maps and storylines! Maybe 6 seasons, a season per map? No idea, but OMG PLEASE LEMME WATCH.

One time in ark me and a friend were imprisoned and told if I beat boxed and he rapped they may let us free. I'm a decent beat boxer and my friend managed to come up with some funny bars and they not only let us free but gave us a ton of stuff for they were an alpha tribe. I'm sure nothing in this show will replicate that but the hope that something similar would happen is enough to watch besides the fact that THIS LOOKS AMAZING AND IM WATCHING IT REGARDLESS! lmao looks like a passion project and I have high hopes for this.

There's something very poetic about Helena's story in her past life she committed suicide out of grief. Now reborn through cloning, she has to find the will to survive and fight.
I’ve played this game since Alpha release! I watched how it grew and changed and got better and better all the way until it’s official release! I played so many hours with this game with many friends, who I unfortunately seem to have lost contact with. But nevertheless, this show looks like it’ll rekindle so many memories of surviving, taming, building, and fighting to survive! So many wonderful fun memories this game brought!

I love how it seems the explorer notes actually did tell most this story already but now we actually get to see it all unfold I really hope every season is a different ark and it goes in order of how they came out.
But that also means it would end when extinction starts because we're following Helena's story.
