@JimA73 advice: Don't use LED. They pulse. And camera shutters will not be consistant. Instead go with Icandescent or halligan bulbs. Some florescents are fine too. LED=BAD. thanks for bring it up though.
yeaz! you did'nt stop making them. i was afraid you did cuz i did not see one yesterday.... Anywayz, thanks for this, it will most likely help a lot...
Hey man, what i used is flexible USB L.E.D. lights connected to a USB strip hub. the light is a lot smoother plus they are only £0.99 each on ebay, or even cheaper if u can get them in asia
im having trouble on one thing when i do my brickfilms i use an LED light but when i go threw my pictures the light quality changes its really annoying and do u think u could help?
@csavoy1 haha yes, but that's a bad habit to get into. "fixing it in post" is one of the worst and most expensive way to solve issues. Plus I haven't got into After Effects which is too expensive for most people and requires advanced computer knowledge.
I need help with lighting, i have 2 lamps, one is natural light (orangy glow) and another one is a bright ish one. I blacked out all my windows and I still get alot of flickr can you help? One of the reasons is the crappy fame capture program and i have a quickcampro 9000 for mac which is autofocus. Are there any GOOD free fram capture programs for mac? I use frame by frame
hey... could you tell me how to fix this problem i have... sometimes during filming, the lighting (when i look through camera view) goes a bright yellow and orange color, and then i have a lot of light flicker. do you know how to fix all this?
Some one could help me? I am using Del lamp and when I put 2 of those with 1 normal desk lamp, the shadows are low. But I see 6-7 low shadow going in different direction.
I am A girl who loves legos and i don't mean friends, you have the greatest tips ever!!! But with my lego films I'm having touble inputing the sounds can you help me?
what if ure camera just SUCKS!? On the screen of my camera, the lighting looks perfect! But once I take the picture, the camera adds even more white to the picture and then it looks horrible!! Any suggestions? cause I can't afford to buy a new camera...
When I film with lights like this I get severe flickering where either my shadow is projected onto the set/subject or the flicker rate of the lamp is an issue. It ruined everything I filmed. I stopped using the lights and it fixed most of the problem but I cannot control the lighting at all, just use room light. This puts me off animating
The problem with room light is that it'll change while you animate so you'll have severe light flickers which are terrible. And how about you use a remote from a distance so your shadow won't hover over the set.
Try using room light + lamps. This work well for me as I make my brickfilms in my room and use what I have said above. If you want to know any more about message me via UA-cam. Hope I helped! FuzzBall Productions
Surprisingly insightful. I look forward to more.
Thanks for this tutorial. I've been looking for brickfilm lighting tips everywhere, and none have been as useful as this one.

The black desk lamp looks like the one in pixar movie intros :))
Your videos are great! I'm learning a lot. I know my next few will look a LOT better. Thanks!
Dude, the tutorials are very helpful and informative, thank you for these!
you just got yourself a subscriber!
this is really awesome!, its very helpfull and interesting.
the trick with the folded paper is really nifty! thanks for the cool video!
Love that you used a classic smiley head
My camera has it's own lighting system where it gives off light itself.
Great vid, you remind me of Nick Cage.
Awesome!!!!!
@beeniestudios it could be auto white balance or auto AE. Make sure everything is set to manual on the camera. See if that fixes it.

@cannedgravy thanks!, thanks so much!!
More please!

Do you have any suggestion for lighting with LED lamps?

I've got halogen and they change the light shades every so often
or you could just color correct in AE. But this works too.
Has anyone ever told you that you have a strange resemblance to Nicholas Cage?
OMG YAS~

I tried using localized lights and the effect was worse. I also can't remote control the camera as it's a compact not a DSLR
David G Have you checked your camera settings? Set them all to manual.
