    My mom showed me a trick when trying to get all of the air out of freezer bags. She sealed the bag almost completely, inserted a straw and then sucked all of the air out of the bag quickly pulling out the straw and completely sealing the bag. It’s a neat trick and it does work. 🍁🍂🍁💚🙃

    You should try using the cores and peelings of the apples to make apple jelly. It’s great to eat yourself or gift giving.

    I use the cheap plastic wrap from the Dollar Store, place a piece it in my usual pie tins, fill with the apple filling, fold over the plastic wrap and freeze. Once froze I remove the filling from my tins and stack them in a larger zip lock bag.

    Fun video…love seeing Max 🐈‍⬛. So the next best thing to apple pie is a warm bowl of apple crisp topped with vanilla ice cream. Ina Gardner from the barefoot contessa has a great recipe. Also my husband was wondering when Nat and your brothers are going out hunting? NH archery started 9/15.

    I have a great recipe for an apple crisp that uses applesauce! It’s a hit with the grand kids and super fast without needing to peel them! It’s called apple crumb squares if you Google it.😁 I double the recipe in a large pan. And I just use the entire quarter jar.

    I can't make a crust so I don't make pies (gave up ages ago...) but when I make apple sc. and apple crisp and I put a dash of vanilla and butter in the apple sc. mmmm. And I've never frozen apples raw before but now I will be.😊

    Think your cat could like Alnutrin cat food supplement. You can get a can of sardines or mackerel freeze flat in a ziploc bag...break off about a tablespoon and put on top of homemade pureed food. I would slow cook chicken or do stew beef. You can also do salmon and shrimp. Add herbs like rosemary..lots can work just triple check websites on cat safe foods, ....parsley not good once elderly...that one is tricky.
    My cat got the thickest fur from that routine. Had to use innovet food syringe because he had stopped eating dry food at 17.
    If read Ottawa Valley Dog Whisperer, she really feels fresh is best for animals, as they need that oil for one thing...and nutrients that give alot of health if fed within a few hours.
    I freeze the meat and freeze his supplemented food in smaller bags. So easy and my cat...became much much nicer.
    He also liked his cat cave being close to the kitchen too and meowed if heard me go to fast, forgetting steps when cooking. 😇
    A small food procesor is best to puree meat and I also gave him vitamin b drops and since went off food, rehmmania 8 pet version on Amazon...which helps blood metabolism especially before heat waves or snow storms.
    🌲 Really recommend unlocking next level of cat guardianship.

    Just an observation: If you increase the baking time, won't that burn the crust? Please consider thawing the filling in the microwave before putting it in your crust. Thanks for the fun video...

    I saw a reel where they used soft tortillas and mixed a sliced apple, greek yogurt, sugar and lemon juice to make quick little crimped moon apple pies. 400° oven for 20 minutes. I'll try to find the recipe.

  • @tannenbaumgirl3100
    @tannenbaumgirl3100 11 місяців тому

    You have to unfreeze it anyways, so plastic bag is much better. Storing food on aluminum not recommended...not healthy. In fact, if you have any aluminum pans/pots...toss them and replace with stainless steel or other materials, dutch ovens etc. If you use aluminum foil to cover baking dishes in ovens, put a sheet of parchment paper over the food first, then add the aluminum foil over the top, otherwise acids in foods will oxidize the aluminum and end up in your food...not healthy.

    • @PK-bh1ww

      I've been using aluminum and foil for over 50 yrs.. I'm still alive and ok physically and mentally at 74...

    • @tannenbaumgirl3100
      @tannenbaumgirl3100 11 місяців тому

      @@PK-bh1ww Lucky you, this is not me making recommendations, it's proven facts. That is why they also removed aluminum from deodorants, baking powder and other items. Not sure about your mental acuity though given you're denial about simple facts.

    • @Gkv688
      @Gkv688 День тому

      @PK-bh1ww agree ! In my family, we used aluminum pans, and my mother and father lived to 80 and 89.

    • @tannenbaumgirl3100
      @tannenbaumgirl3100 День тому

      @@Gkv688 you can't defy science, and you can't ignore the fact that we know Aluminum oxidizes with certain foods and it ends up in your food. We also know that aluminum in deodorants is also toxic. It's your body, and you think your smarter than scientists....so go ahead. Just remember you and your kids have been contaminating yourselves basically since birth....you have not seen the endgame of too many metals in your system yet (or at least you're not smart enough to recognize it yet) and don't complain once you do.
