      It’s not a disposable watch but the movement can be replaced for less $ than a servicing so makes sense to dispose of. I think that was Tissot’s theory behind using this movement, the ETA C15111

    is the main plate plastic?

    • @watch-repair

      main plate METAL

    • @johngalt9262
      @johngalt9262 6 років тому +1

      thanks. I wouldn't think it to be anything but metal, but with it being black and some of the features I saw, I had to ask; not to mention it being an "entry level" and some companies make bad decisions in an effort to lower costs to get sales up. I wouldn't think Tissot would do such a thing, but you never know these days.

    Why do people say it’s a non serviceable movement?

    • @watch-repair
      @watch-repair  5 років тому +3

      this mechanism is not repairable, there are no screws, it is not possible to disassemble and assemble)) it is really good and works stably until it goes bad,

      @@MihaiRUdeRO Tissot has stated that an out of warranty repair shouldn't cost more than $150USD (be aware this is from 2017, but it shouldn't too different now).

      @@kutter_ttl6786 hmmm, for that price I wonder if it's possible to replace the swissmatic movement with a different ETA movement altogether, one that IS serviceable in the future... I own the T106.407.11.031.00 and it's a great quality piece. It feels sturdy and well-built, and it looks absolutely gorgeous IMO. I'm just slightly disappointed with the movement.

      @@kutter_ttl6786 On the other hand, evern if was possible to disassemble this movement, the service cost would have been about the same, more or less. So, why should we care if it is serviceable or not?
