I just bought this Minister D and luckily I have a newer version. Different front of the lens. More graceful and two-tone. More subtle company engraving on the top plate and most importantly. Light meter switch. In the newer version, it is turned from off to on and vice versa. in the older model there is a button with a red dot that must be pressed all the time for the meter to measure the light and you already know that it is not convenient. So I either have it turned on or not. And the last difference. Rangefinder adjustment cap. The older version has a rubber cap. Newer metal screw.

It isn't just the breadth and range of cameras that you cover and the charming way in which you present them but also the smattering of mispronuncthiasions that make this required viewing for any camera buff. 👍

The innovative / odd pronunciations have amused and puzzled me, too. Have to admit that I do admire people who can talk direct to camera and get a decent result.

Great video! It helped me a lot with navigating my recently aquired Minister D. Unfortunately, I'm having some issues with the rangefinder. Other than the rangefinder, it's in beautiful shape. I've been trying to remove the top plate and access the rangefinder to clean it and try and repair it, but I cannot for the life of me unscrew the film advance lever. Do you have any advice?

Great video, and very nice pictures too. I have a Minister 700, basically the same camera with a 1.7 lens. It has all you need and nothing you don't. I don't care about tha batteries though, I just estimate the light based on experience, or if in doubt use an external meter.

I have the Yashica Campus, which is very similar but no light meter. That Yashinon 45mm 2.8 lens is a cracker!
