  • I talk about myself in order to give you examples of how you can talk about your own personal life, hobbies, and work/professional experience in English.
    The part in which I talk about my work experience is also a very good example of English that you can use to talk about your CV during a job interview.
    I'm Teacher Mike, and I'm an English (ESL/EFL) teacher from the United States.
    I'm currently posting 3 videos each week (Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday)(Tuesday is a LIVE video), so if you're interested in improving your English, make sure to subscribe and turn on notifications so that you see all of my new videos.
    Also, my ebook "How to Practice Speaking English by Yourself and Why Everyone Should Do It" is finally available on Amazon. If you're interested, here is the link a.co/d/06M5faZ

    Hi, my name is Evelyn, and I love my name. I'm from Peru.
    I studied Pharmacy and English. I worked in a school for a year, teaching children. But teachers are not well paid in my country.
    I have a small business. And I found it that I enjoy attending to my customers. I love my job because I don't have a boss and lets me help my parents. I have never traveled abroad. However, I hope to do it one day.
    In my free time, I enjoy learning English, reading, swimming, and spending time in my garden with my birds.
    I love animals and nature.
    I'm a simple person with a simple life.
    I start and end my day with a big smile on my face even in a bad day.
    I believe in God, and I know he always helps and protects me.
    I'm hardworking and honest and I have a good sense of humor. I have a few friends who are the best in the world.
    😊😊
    Besides, I have several friends who are from all the world. I enjoy practicing my English with them.😊

    Hi Mike. I've got a few questions.
    1. Could you please tell me what it means 'minor in women's studies' ? Can't find what 'minor' is? And I am curious what 'women's studies' are?
    2. What a communication coach is teaching the people?
    Otherwise, I'm Rose from Bulgaria.
    I like your videos because they are practical.
    I used to live in Greece, so I speak Greek. Learned it by listening music, watching their lovely funny series and of course communicating daily with people.
    Find it a bit harder to learn English as I don't live anymore in small community. My work does not require to speak a lot. No English spoken friends. It's like my brain is telling me - Why to learn? You don't need it.
    Happy that I found you and your videos. Knowing, for example, why we call the mug - mug, and not a cup is making me already better.
    Thank you for everything you are doing to help people improving their English!

    • @TeacherMikeEnglish
      @TeacherMikeEnglish  8 місяців тому +1

      Hi. Glad you are enjoying my videos!
      To major in something, you need about 120 credits in that subject. To minor in something, you need to about 15-25 credits in that subject. So that means I took maybe eight or nine university courses related to women's studies.
      Women's studies is an academic field that focuses on women in society, feminist theory, gender, sexuality, etc.
      As a business communication coach, I was responsible for helping people learn to communicate more effectively with people from other cultures in a business setting. (For example, being more assertive, presenting facts in a logical manner, understanding cultural differences, etc.)

    Hi, teacher Mike. I am from Thailand and watching your videos to learn English Language. Could I ask you some questions? I am confused how to use the word “ experience “ and grammar usage to describe about my working experience. Should I use a past perfect or present perfect tense and how is the difference? For example, I have experienced in banking. Or I have experience in banking. Or I experienced in banking.
    Thank you very much teacher.🙏

    • @TeacherMikeEnglish
      @TeacherMikeEnglish  11 місяців тому +4

      Hi!
      It should be "I have experience in/with..."
      In this situation, "experience" is very similar to "knowledge". It's something that you have now because of something that you did in the past.

    • @TeacherMikeEnglish
      @TeacherMikeEnglish  Рік тому +1

      The first one is the normal one. The second one emphasizes / makes it really clear that it truly is every day, not an exaggeration. "Every couple days" means not every day, but every two or three days.
