Gail and Kong made each others careers, defined each others careers and made each other legends. One of the greatest 'rivalries' in wrestling of the last 20 years. Actually, no, one of the greatest rivalries EVER. Being women is actually irrelevant when it comes to the story that spanned years between these two. They were WRESTLERS period.
I wished WWE pushed jacqueline and Mickey James rivalry instead of making trish stratus the face of women wrestling. Watch jacqueline vs Ivory. One of the cleanist woman matches I've seen. I wish jacqueline Mickey James, Kong, Gail were in there prime in the same era

The respect and love Kong and Gail Kim have for each other is so beautiful. These two women literally changed everything for women’s wrestling and for that I’ll always be grateful of both women. I heard Kong is going into the TNA hall of fame and there isn’t a person more deserving. Thank you Kong.

Tip for the commentators in the future when/if big returns happen: Be shocked, mention the name of the returning wrestler, then SHUT YOUR MOUTH.
The crowd noise and her facial expressions while walking towards the ring is all people need. Instead we all had screeching voices in our ears while trying to watch an amazing wrestler make her big return.
This was a debut for NWA. It was important to explain the backstory so new fans and fans that didn’t watch TNA understand what they’re seeing.

You can give a background on a wrestler without coming across as unprofessional, loud, and annoying.
The whole "This is NWA, people need to know about her past in TNA" is garbage when not only were they screeching and annoying, but they couldn't even manage to tell me why I should care about who she is.
If I didn't already know how legit she is, I would have no clue who she is or why I should give a single solitary shit about her.
New fans didn't learn a damn thing about her unless they went on Google after the event.

Once in a lifetime moment tainted by a bunch of talentless commentators trying to justify their paychecks. Was that Velvet Sky? My god SHUT the hell up!
TNA/IMPACT may have done a lot of goofy things but one of the things that they consistently got right was the women’s division. Gail vs. Kong will always be an EPIC rivalry!

This was a true moment. Gail didn't know this announcement was coming. She knew about the segment but this....this was a true moment between 2 friends who completely love and respect each other. I was emotional..and am watching it again. 2 greats of the business...love them both.
Kong was a force of nature in TNA. Those Awesome Bombs were things of beauty.

Before Charlotte, Becky, Bayley and Sasha, we had Gail and Kong rivaling brutal matches. For me Gail is and will always be the queen of female pro wrestling
Don't get me wrong, I think the 4 Horsewomen are great, but there was an era in TNA when their Knock-Outs division was loaded: Gail Kim, Kong, the original Beautiful People, ODB to name a few.
Its sad that Gail Kim was past her prime when WWE started taking women's wrestling seriously.

Kong and Gail truly were carrying women's wrestling on their back in TNA, years ahead of every other company in NA...maybe even the world.
I knew her back then as the Amazing Kong, she really was a big deal and someone to be feared of. She still is don’t get me wrong, but eh time isn’t a friend of anyone, it just keeps on going making us old. She deserves a good retirement, but she’s also a great actress so who knows.

I've always been a Gail Kim mark. Even met her before an Indie show in 2016 and she couldn't have been nicer to me, one of the highlights of my life.
Damnit y’all made this fool tear up. When you see two amazing iconic legendary wrestlers in the ring show real mutual respect it just hits.
These two are who I watched before any wwe diva. TNA with Gail, Kong, Velvet Sky, and Tara set the standard for women’s wrestling.
I had already seen the wonderful caring side of awesome kong before. She is a touching person. This was amazing and always missed her. Still watch her old tna matches some. Wwe really messsed up not keeping her and gail kim. I remember all that also. No one in wwe compares to the awesomeness in and out of the ring of these 2

Kong and Kim have been dear friends for most of 20 years. They had great ring chemistry and used their differences in height, size and style to create amazing matches. As much as I loved seeing them compete, seeing them hug was the bestest thing ever. Kong is just a big old teddy bear to those close to her. Apparently she is still invited to events and parties of the GLOW cast. Two classy women and hall of fame worth athletes.
Watched this when it originally aired and it was good seeing Awesome Kong back in the ring. Her and Gail Kim have such a history and it's good to see them showing mutual respect for each other.
Only after rewatching Gail and Kong's no DQ match for the Knockouts title and it really reminds you just how amazing their chemistry and rivalry was. Hats off to both women

In 2006 Trish and Lita retired. I didn’t feel anything. I simply felt bad for the active divas as I knew they weren’t gonna have as much opportunity as the direction WWE was going was evident. I knew Trish left because she foresaw this so I was glad she left and I knew Lita was fed up with the WWE world. So I was glad she left too for her own sanity. Molly Sable Jackie Moore Jazz and Ivory had been fired in such a silent way. The great Torrie Wilson had been reduced to a jobber diva. WWE had turned to pure smut. Vulgar nonsense and Smackdown seemed to be the only show that actually had some good solid wrestling. Gail Kim and Kong creating something awesome drawing out the best out of everyone!!! Even Kurt Angle wanted to work with Awesome Kong!!! My excitement for wrestling finally came alive again! When Gail Kim left in 2008 I was really sad. I had not felt sad for anyone leaving! She left a message to the knockouts on a TNA webshow and it was strangely saddening hearing her say goodbye. When I heard she was now on NXT/FCW and then made it to Smackdown I was mixed with reactions. Excited to see her again but o knew this wasn’t TNA Gail Kim. She put on some great matches alongside Michelle McCool Melina and Alicia Fox but then when traded to raw it was it. Downhill latin there. When Michelle McCool left I was sad but also foresaw it was only getting worst. So I was happy she left. Gail Kim retired but the match and the PPV was riddled with bad circumstances. Maria Jade and several others had quit due to some stuff going on with management. The PPV itself was revealed to have been shut down and then allegedly some buyer bought TNA or funded it for the night. Instead Allie and Sienna had to fill in the spot, and Gail Kim had a three way match that just felt odd. Didn’t feel complete. When Gail Kim returned to answer the call for Tessa Blanchard I forgot how much I loved seeing Gail Kim wrestle!! I was genuinely sad this time I actually cried! This was Gail Kim the ass kicking badass Gail Kim actually retiring and I realized I’m 32 and that’s a person who fueled my excitement for nearly twenty years! When Trish wrestled Charlotte I didn’t like the match it felt bland as Charlotte is annoying to me. However seeing Trish stratus at the end so spent so tired and worn down gasping for air looking like she was going to throw up, it also hit me. This is the same Trish who would take an ass kicking and get up to dish it right back! Not hesitate to throw a punch just like Gail Kim! Seeing her retired seeing her look in her face that said “yup I’m done.” Haha I was happy and I began to cry. Genuinely proud of these girls.
