  • Archbishop Desmond Tutu, a Nobel Peace Prize winner, has died aged 90. Throughout his life, he used his platform to advocate for the oppressed.
Tutu stood hand in hand with Nelson Mandela on the day he became South Africa's first democratically elected president. The pair changed the nation.

When asked in 2003 what he thought of the impending war with Iraq, he responded by saying 'give peace a chance'. A man of morals and decency, who had to jump through so many hurdles for freedom. RIP Desmond Tute 🙏🏽🕊

Even though he’ll be forever remembered for his fight against apartheid. His biggest legacy will be, being named after a degree result, I got a Desmond 2:2.

Great man who taught millions morals is the key to freedom. May his soul rest in peace. He deserves a state funeral service for his lifelong humanitarian services.

A cognitive dissonant mess like MLK, championing equality for his people with one hand, while perpetuating the evil used to justify enslaving them with the other: Christian apologist enabler. The misattribution of this quote to Desmond Tutu is so ironic it's blasphemous: "When the missionaries came to Africa they had the Bible and we had the land. They said "Let us pray." We closed our eyes. When we opened them we had the Bible and they had the land," Jomo Kenyatta. Chief Pontiac said something remarkably similar about Christianity's arrival in America. Every black Christian today is a sad reminder of how Christianity was whipped into the backs of their ancestors to the readings of Bible verses condoning it: Stockholm Syndrome
