  • From a recent "stairway hall" session. I really love to listen to what ever I can find from Ohta-San. This one I tried to put together by listening to "Hawaiian time" one of his solo albums. Just ukulele solo, high and low g tunes arranged and masterfully performed by him.
    There are some musicians that really Touch and drive me. Ohta-San is one of them always, similar to Django Reinhardt, Oscar Aleman, Roy Smeck, Tommy Emmanuel, Jerry Douglas, my former teacher Tom Weise, Joe Satriani and Steve Vai and some more...

    Easing into Sunday morning in the UK listening to your beautiful playing - sweet melody. Thank you and greetings. Is that one of your nice Brukos?!

      Hello there and many thanks: this is my Peter Geerdts Soprano built by my friend Peter Geerdts (I showcased his so far collection some videos before this one).
      This one has a more mellow and Martin like/kamaka like sweet and softer tone which adds a nice colour to my more mid rangy focused Brüko models or my old Martin Style 0.
      Thanks for your friendly words.
      Best, Jan

    Having my breakfast in Toronto; it never tasted better while listening to your music.
    Do you play soprano mostly?
    I was trying to find a reason to buy a soprano because I have a concert and a tenor….. thank you ….. I am buying one this week.

      Thank you so much. I think you should play whst ever you prefer and what speaks to you the most. I started on Tenor but quickly fell in love with soprano sound when listening to players like Ohta-San. I play sopranos mostly but when ever I find an other sized model and I like it, I appreciate that too.
      Have good days.
      Best to Toronto,

      @@JanHaaslersorry to bother you , I have 2 more questions :
      Would you use low G on a soprano ?
      What are the best strings for it?

      @JanHaasler  7 місяців тому

      @@jorgequito9562 you can starr with a concert guitar D string (wound) or a special low g string. I prefer wound strings for low g not only on sopranos (fits and sounds better to me). Aquila selbst Single low g strings (tenor) which I use often. But I suggest getting and testing on your own and what is available in your region too.
      Thanks for asking.
