Jungkook is also such an absorber. He's stubborn in that when he decides he wants to do something, he's spontaneous and will have it accomplished. But otherwise, he seems like such a sponge. I completely agree with what you said about seeing all the others in him, and I think he has some of Suga's reservedness -- in that he keeps to himself, but his secrets/personal thoughts don't necessarily burden him? He can seem like such a manufactured perfect person, honestly...even his stage presence comes off that way. And I think that is because of his immense ability to soak up energy and skills and his natural understanding of being a show-stopper. He's angsty and a rebel, calm and mature, goofy and immature, a show-off and a "typical Busan guy". So weird. :)

Because you're both right; aside from the starting days when he was shy and clearly adjusting, Jungkook has always been the more "mature," member of the group. Unless he happens to be messing around or displaying that signature sass, he doesn't ask to be taken care of (and often insists that he can do it himself, tbh). Burn the stage really gave insight to this aspect when he had trouble and was in threat of being unable to continue performing, Namjoon stated that their youngest never speaks up about what's bothering him. He's hard to read. Side note: this is something I attribute to Yoongi and Namjoon, which ties into how we can see all 7 members in him and how they shaped his growth. Due to what we've been shown, it's easy to understand how a young(er) Jungkook took note of his hyung's varying degrees of mental struggles and learned how to tend to them. Oftentimes we're given this impression that he can be a "brat," (which yes, sometimes he is, not denying he can be a cheeky individual) but it's quite easy to see that, more often than not, his displays and reactions reflect the mood of the room. But none of this is what had me thinking. Jungkook states, both in interviews and in his song Begin, that he doesn't struggle as they do but if I am honest, I think that is a bit of a white-lie. He was 13-14 (15 by Korean years) when they started, in six years he's grown and come so far (so proud!) but there are times I have to wonder if there's a part of himself, inside, that feels he didn't have enough time to enjoy his youth. He's not the type to talk about such matters - at least not at length - but I feel we get glimpses of this when his concern for worrying for others or the fans fogs his ability to identify his health is important too (another throwback to the burn the stage content). Or how he (and other members) talk of how he has his own room but still chooses to sleep in another person's room --- again, not a bad thing! Just an interesting thought if one comes to think about how much growing he's had to do in such a short amount of time. I do have to say though that even if this were the case, he's in good hands. Mature as he is, and good as he is at being the "older," one, Jungkook's got a family that knows him better than any of us will whom, to this day, still try to remind him that he's allowed to act his age. Overall I think the 7 of them make up a group of individuals that have all the qualities needed to balance each other out.
I would suspect that JK's martial arts training had an effect on his dancing - the speed, power and precision of his movement. Something about the way he subtly curves his feet when jumping (I think I really noticed it in...was it Danger dance? Have to re-re-rewatch it yet again, oh no, ha ha!) It has a certain ninja-esque quality to it that I really enjoy :)

As for Jungkook, I can totally relate to Ashlen when she says that he is a bias wrecker, because he has so many talents and I cannot tell enough times how much I love his love for his hyungs. I get what Launa is saying about him being the only one in the group who didn't have any sort of mental issue and so being kind of a "rock" for the other members. A role which is not easy with him being the maknae, but as we can see, he doesn't often act like one, he is very mature for his age and I think that this is due to the fact that he left home when he was only 14/15 and the other members literally raised him. I really admire his will to learn new things and improve the ones he already knows, he can be really inspirational, his perseverance and hard work. Also, as I already said, his love and respect for the other members always gets me, especially when he said that he is okay with packed schedules and hard practices, but what makes him suffer the most is seeing his hyungs having a hard time mentally and physically. I can really see different aspects of all the members in him and that makes him even more special. Love him

Yes! Ashlen and I were talking about that recently. He is always watching and always trying to learn from everyone around him and become better. It also makes him so complimentary! Like he loves to tease and have fun, but when it matters he gives really meaningful compliments and I think that's because he makes a mental note of all the things that will make the people he loves feel better.

At 2:48 Kookie isn't playing with the crowd, he forgot the next lyric so Jin helped him out and sang it, then Kookie finishes the song as Armys sing along with him. Although in this video you can't see Jin, in other fan cams you can though. I just thought that immediate connection between Jin and Jungkook was really sweet, and actually, as I'm typing this I realize that the fans singing along with Jungkook after he forgot a lyric reminds me of the latest episode of Burn the Stage. When Hobi's music gets cut off and Armys immediately began singing. Armys have such a beautiful connection with the boys, whenever they do something like that it sort feels like they're saying "Don't worry, we're here for you."
