  • Big disappointment regarding the adjustment of the bit driver locking ring. Fortunately, I was able to remove it, spread it and put it back for proper insertion and removal of the bits. WERA, pay attention to your quality control!
Grosse déception s'agissant de l'ajustement de l'anneau de verrouillage du bit driver. Heureusement, j'ai pu le retirer, l'écarter et le remettre pour une insertion et un retrait correct des embouts. WERA, attention à votre contrôle qualité!

1104 had exact same issue with craftsman pass through. I used vise n screwdriver, chisel, pliers etc. Finally i threw the adaptor with 1/2" socket on concrete floor and it came apart. The retaining clip inside was not seated properly. I already had replacement parts but was curious what was binding it.

I just found out about this wrench/driver like a week ago and was thinking about getting one (though they’re pretty pricey) crazy timing!

Wera ratchets are great and very useful. So bad for the poor QC

Can it replace a screwdriver.. Is it just as convenient as regular screwdrivers?

which one would you recomend to buy, as a universal thing, using around home, car etc. 1/4 or 3/8 ?

    • @diezelle57
      @diezelle57  2 роки тому +1

There is no universal ratchet, it all depends on the work to be done.
      This is the reason why toolmakers offer 1/4", 3/8", 1/2", 3/4", 1"...
The tools do not have the same size or the same robustness depending on whether you mount a shelf (1/4 ") or open a car engine (1/2") ...
Moreover, in 1/4 ", the sockets usually go from 4.5 mm to 14 mm, in 3/8" from 6 mm to 24 mm.
There is an overlap and then it will be the size of the tool that will matter.

I had the same question a while back - i went with the 3/8" of this set for "general" use :)

@@ccmogs5757 ive got 1/4 and not happy, buy 3/8 for general use, 1/4 too small like a toy, you cant see it on a video

That is a fine ratchet, but at $160 CDN., I think I'm going to have to wait a bit for this purchase. Thanks for the upload.
One thing I don't understand...with our large and influential neighbour to the south, we Canadians must endure the Imperial system influence even though we are officially metric, but can you tell me why Europeans still use Imperial (1/4", 3/8"...) drive sizes for their sockets?

    • @diezelle57

@@diezelle57 Thanks. I guess in the end it was simply an economic and practical compromise, being that the use of metric fasteners didn't have to negate the use of interchangeable ratchet drivers. Metric "equivalents" alongside of imperial size drives would have not only created a nightmare, it would have shut out a very large market for tool manufacturers. I read somewhere that metric nations use "two bah fours" in building construction because it just rolls off the tongue better than 50 x 100 x 2400...or something like that.

I have been reading a lot of bad comments about the Wera Zyklop Ratchets. I got last week the 3/8 version. But I'm pretty fine with it. Could you say something about the quality in the last years? Do you still trust them? Thank you!

I have had no problems with my WERA Zyklop 1/4" and 3/8". Obviously, I'm not going to buy the same ratchets every year to keep up with any possible variation in the quality of these tools :)
