I love the promotion of believers seeking mental health services to heal! As a licensed therapist (LICSW) and survivor of childhood trauma, we need to HEAL!
Vashawn was my minister of music when he was in Chicago. The songs he penned like my worship is for real, silent tears, and nobody greater and so many more go to songs where I find singing when I need it the most. Thank you VM
Yes VaShan is very quiet and focused, I met him briefly and I noticed how he didn’t mine gracing my team with a photo, he could have walked away. I was too nervous to say anything to him, I didn’t want him to feel overwhelmed, he seemed very humble. Awesome in Christ. ❤❤❤❤
The Fake Forgiveness and how become functional in the cliche of the church alter ministry. Many people go to the alter and walk away still broken because they are not aware or have the tools to move forward in the forgiveness and healing journey. Truly enjoyed this interview.
Teach Sis! That needs to be told on this podcast and as many platforms that can reach people...I left the alter for years with a heavy heart. I had to do the work and get the counseling and mess I needed to move forward. Most people don't know how to "do the work" I pray the Lors uses you mightily for the Kingdom, God Bless
Fake Forgiveness, whew, thank you, I really needed this, after the loss of my only child, it has definitely tested my faith and its hard for me to "See the Goodness" I'm broken and I'm trying. Hearing Vashawn story has Definity lifted me as when I attended "Sweet Holy Spirit church" back in the days, his music and his presence took my worship to another level. I'm just trying to find my way back
Great Testimony, because that's how we overcome, by the Blood of the Lamb and the words of our testimony... Excellent!!! 😇 No More FAKE Forgiveness, Powerful!!! thank you men of God!!!😇
What this episode has taught me is that, we are ALL human and struggling and we need mercy. Some struggles are different than others and some people may NEVER get over there issues but I pray they learn to live with them and still treat people with kindness.
So I found out about Vashawn Mitchell in the South Atlanta area going to church and bringing my now husband to Christ. Vashawn Mitchell was the worship leader. I didn’t know so much about him!! So much as changed at the church now including the names 😅but I will never forget the worship experience that he would give. Thanks Willie Moore and Vashawn! I listen to you both for different reasons and I appreciate the transparency.
Awesome, these session need to be advertised more often. There are a lot of men and women living lives of hurt and pain because of absent parents for whatever reason and they need to know their history, their why, and who. Some say they don’t care but it shows in the life, some of their actions, habits, way of communicating etc.
This was absolutely wonderful! So, so good. “Turning Around For Me” got me through so much and now I am living in answered prayers HALLELUJAH! I’m about to go listen and worship to it right now. Great, great interview. Praise God 🙏🏾
What a great interview! I've known VaShawn since he was 16. He was the youngest in our group, Visions - A Chorale Ministy. I saw so nuch potential in him, being a great choir director. Never knew his story, so Wow! So god-awful proud of him. Continue to strive. 🙏🏾 Praying for greater in both of you guys' lives.
Willie Moore thank you so much for sharing your testimony about inner child . The Lord introduced me to that journey at the beginning of 2023.. he came to me in a dream and showed me my preteen self during that time of my life I was very broken and shattered but in the dream I saw myself whole and complete singing in the choir as a preteen. Then by the end of that year I found out some serious news about my biological identity that I did not know. Willie Moore thank you so much for bringing vashawn on the show to discuss this necessary topic.
I really wish more churches would teach 'inner child discovery.' I think for most, it's not scripture enough...smh. Warrior1975ify - so glad you're on that journey. Keep thriving.

The fake forgiveness really hit me like, there are people I told I forgive you but I’m my heart there is still a disdain for them… I really appreciated this Vashawn Mitchell interview he is 100% living his truth
Myself and my husband was honored to be able to meet you last night at the event. You gentleman our really inspiring my husband to be a better man, father, and husband and I’m so thankful for you all 🙏🏽💜
As a sisterfriend of VaShawn I’m concerned that your title, relative to your discussion about drug addiction is very misleading. Please consider a title edit. VaShawn was not addicted…. His mom was. Other than that, this was really really good. Love you, VMan!!
I’m grateful for believers that show their wounds cuz they give me the strength to show mines this was a chain breaking episode Jesus turns our vulnerability into power and he uses our mistakes to show his unlimited grace…this was dope Willie Moore
Yes!!! They give up the courage to be real/ vulnerable and still profess Jesus. Usually we think Christians have it all together… nope we all are people with pasts!! 😊
45:00 until the end hit home for me I'm responding out of injury!!...the whole interview was REAL!!!..I truly loved the transparency of you both..continued blessings
Really enjoyed hearing his story. He is a classic. You can go to any of his music today and feel God's presence. He is all over my playlist. Prayers for continuous healing 💖
Willie Moore, I absolutely appreciate this man to man open heart assessment review. So many men are wounded and bleeding out daily, due to unaddressed childhood trauma. VaShawn's transparency and his willingness to reveal and heal, his ability to expose then close some of those lingering life events, initiated an honest sense of self assessment, to stop ignoring the inner hurting boy, crying out for help. I appreciate you utilizing your platform, by initiating and sanctioning it as a safe space for men to to become vulnerable without judgment while healing. To God be the glory, for His grace and His mercy.🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾 Bless you brother!
I really love how the gospel singers are being so real and transparent about their lives!!! I love the fact that the people we see behind the gospel songs and gospel videos are also hum as well that God had to take through challenges and come out!!! Appreciate this show so much!!! I didn’t know Vashun was single single… no kids no baby mama drama, no gf, or ex wife!! He always looked like a guy that would be unapproachable, but hearing his story gives more understanding to the reserved Vashun!! Johnathan McReynolds next!!
Once again, GOD has used "Love Moore" to enlighten me..."Fake Forgiveness"...Wow that right there has to be unpacked! I also learned that at 65, I have to look at my non-relationship with my bio-father needs to be explored. Thank the Lord for Bro. Vashawn's honesty. His songs are Holy Ghost anointed & JESUS approved. Willie Moore Jr. Keep being led by the Holy Ghost. I'm definitely benefiting from Your growing process
I enjoyed this episode so much!! I absolutely love Vashawn and his ministry. I enjoyed his transparency and getting to know the man behind the music. God bless you both and my take away was ppl go to his music when they need it. I've been blessed by Turning it around for me and countless others all at the right time. 🙏🏿
Woah! I didn’t expect this to hit so deep. I literally said the same exact thing about my spiritual father vs my biological father. As well as my biological father “now “ being a part of my healing process- which I ultimately didn’t expect because I had given up on having a relationship with him.
Vashawn your song ~ "See the Goodness" is truly a healing and reassuring song ~ I'm from Chicago as well ~ #SouthSide ~ Thank you for your transparency. 🤗 HUGS 🤗
OMG….VM it’s so awesome because his music is a go to especially when I was out of work and turning around for me was everything I had to hear it every day and I appreciate you Vashawn Mitchell for your gift to encourage people. Thank you.
I am so glad to see the resurgence of Vashawn Mitchell and thank you for doing this interview with him Willie!! My take away is that he is human and he pinned the songs by the experiences he's been through! I wanted to have a conversation with someone today to tell them that the reason I left is because I didn't "see" him as human. It stems back to my Daddy. I told my husband today that I likened my Daddy to God and my Mother to Jesus. Jesus I could go to but God.....nope....only if it is life or death but not for consistent relationship!! My Heavenly Father is still working on my view of Him, but pastors and parents and parents need to show themselves as human as well! I make it a point to let my children see me in failures and disappointments but also see me call upon the name of the Lord Jesus to help me overcome!! Thank you Vashawn for taking the time to do this interview and letting GOD's goodness "I shall not die but live and declare the works of the LORD!" show in and through you!!!
Great interview. I've learned I've had some fake forgiveness. And it's true, some days I desire marriage and other days I'm good with me and just God. I believe He will give clear direction either way. Amen.
39 here, and I DEFINITELY listen to Nobody Greater on a regular basis. EXPERIENCE and time has given me a more clarity and PROVED the truth of that song!
The Glory of God is miraculous!!! I am so thankful that He used VaShawn to his glory because his music has Blessed many!!! Willie Moore I thank God you answered this call!!
Thanks so much for your raw honesty, your laughter, introducing the man behind the music..I heard his name, sing his song.. different now getting a glimpse of him..singing the song a little different...
Ty brothers for sharing. Listening to this.....have me reevaluating and revisiting my own situation of heart conditioning. However,it also let me know that mismanaged emotions is dangerous, stagnant and very crippling💔. God bless you both for this much needed convo. #The reel pain is real pain 😢.
Loving the transparency. Appreciate him saying, "sometimes he wants to be in a relationship and sometimes he doesn't." This is where I am. I'll just enjoy the journey and not worry about it.
We let the industry tell us ( The World) worship music is a individual. Bible says: We are the body of Christ. Though we are many memebers we are one body. Amen Worship is our spiritual weapon. We fight the schemes and tactics of saten through our worship. Im truly grateful for you, your music and your testimony in this interview. Thank you Willie for your obedience to have this platform and Thank you so much Vashon for speaking truth and life during this interview 🙏🏼
This was much needed, you young men are gifted with transparency & strength that both men & women can gleen from. Thanks for thw opportunity to learn Moore 😊
This was very insightful and real. As a seasoned male I was able to identify with the conversation you both were having with each. One who had father issues, build up walls. It was refreshing to hear godly men being transparent and unafraid to be vulnerable. Continue the work you are both doing.
I love his honesty and sharing his story. Our upbringing shapes our lives. Our family lineage all of that !! One thing he said that I had to deal with was fake forgiveness. I kept saying I forgive my parents but the reality was I hadn’t forgave them. I’m still working through that but I’m doing the work I need to do within 🙏🏽
Thank You Vashawn and Willie for being humble and vulnerable, we don't see that All the time, my new learned word discovery. I receive it and believe it. The healing process with family is Very important. Thank You Men of God. I learned from a man point of view that's important.
Now I watched this with no expectations and I was floored with this interview I learned so much and wondered if I have fake forgiveness inside of me , well maybe I do ,but as I sit and think over my life this gave me reason to really check .So as I continue on thank you Mr.More for giving this interview to your guest I have subscribed because that one made me push that button .Thank you Marquita
Vashawn is my celebrity crush I appreciated this episode because I learned things about him that I never knew. I see how his love for God has saved him grew him and he’s him to become a better man than the man he was on the road to becoming. He’s very wise probably because he’s very attentive. I love that he was able to love his dad where he was instead of trying to force his dad to be the 16 year old dad he never met. My son and his father are estranged but I tell my son to accept his father for who he is ow don’t hold onto ill feelings for the father you wanted him to be as you grew up. Yo conversation with Vashawn helped me I’m sure I’ll use his insight in my life or to help my son with his relationship with his father. Great man if God thank you for using this platform to promote love and to help others.
FAKE FORGIVENESS.... my word. That is a whole sermon. I've been there for real. You have to forgive completely. Even if the person needing the forgiveness is not physically here. We have to forgive and move on but we have to really DEAL with the issue at hand. If we do not DEAL, we never HEAL completely. Your music has changed my life. Thank you for sharing your talent. Thank you for your transparency. Thank you for calling me to do better and continue to be better. It is a journey. Counseling is an AMAZING tool even as a person of faith. GOD wants us whole and healed. We cannot operate where HE needs us if we do not operate as WHOLE, HEALED, AUTHENTIC people. At 49 years old, the lessons have been many but I refuse to give up because HE has a reason for me and us all.
This conversation was so heart touching and being a mother that wasn't present or very good at it...I felt some kind of way listening to these 2 black Kings. I'm so glad they're on the Rd to healing and happiness 🙏🏾 I know my son's and daughter will be also...Thank you Jesus and I need some of that SPIRITUAL HEALING LORD AND DELIVERANCE FROM THE PAST ISSUES 🙏🏾👑🙋🏾♀️
So much insight into this musical genuis and I love heraring black kings be honest about their childhood issues and how to break free from it !!! God is faithful and I pray my future husband can be real like this.
Great interview! It was nice hearing more about VM on a personal level. Meeting an absent parent (as a fully grown adult) really resonated with me and I believe it's something I need to take before the Lord because I feel the same way VM did 😕
This conversation is so timely. Similarly, I was raised by my grandparents from birth ( who I will always consider to be my parents). I'm middle aged and struggle with abandonment and disconnection & bouts of anger. My grand parents passing intensified these feelings. I recently informed my therapist that one of my short term goals is to reach out to the person that gave birth to me be vulnerable with my feelings & have a conversation.
This episode was profound and healing as well. I'm glad that I really listen to this episode! I love Vashawn Mitchell songs and music in general. His songs got me through and drew me more to God's grace and love. I truly was inspired that God allowed him to tell his story in his timing. Thank you, Willie Moore, for this interview with him. We are not perfect, but God still chose and loves us still.
Shalom! WAKE THAT MIND UP! Thanks for sharing this conversation with Vashawn Mitchell, I appreciate his transparency and views regarding the music industry and life's ups and down. Vashawn Mitchell, thank you, Godspeed.
Whew!!! This is a good one! Vashawn was our MOM at iThrive and we miss him tremendously. But this interview is a game changer. So thankful for his testimony
Lots of nuggets being spoken Vashon ❤ You said: We are industry driven.. I heard, God created us to bear his image 1st SO HE CAN prepare you for the work. Alot of time you are doing the work (flesh) But without God changing the person(spirit) Reminds me of your song BE FRUITFUL MULTIPLY ❤
Thank you, thank you for this excellent interview with Vashawn Mitchell! It is the first interview I've heard from him. I've been a fan for more than a couple of decades. He said so many things that touched my heart. he was definitely on point when he said that people listen to his music when they need their hearts touched. His transparency will set so many people free. I'm such a music enthusiast that I often wonder the about the narrative behind the song. Wow! You never really know the backstory of these gospel artist. Thanks so much for sharing!
I enjoyed this interview and listening to Vashawn story (and yours) what encouragement this will be to many. I have truly enjoyed Vashawn praise and worship music over the years. You really don’t know until you start to communicate your story and realize there are others that have a story that may be very similar.
What really struck my heart was the difference in talking about situations vs dealing with it. It hit me, so that means that I have to now reevaluate the way I have been able to move on from things in such a matter of fact type of way.
God introduced me to VaShawn Mitchell in 2019. I find that I have always listened to his music. However, one morning on my way to work "Joy" came on the radio. Instant love, singing alone. Once at work, I forgot about my experience. This is when I knew God was introducing VaShawn to me. His song "Joy" played as soon as I started my car, headed back home. From that day forward I have been paying close attention to VaShawn. When I look back, "Joy" was made in 2016. How or why did it stir my spirit later in 2019. This is a great interview. Somehow, I was answering his questions before he spoke. And I answered correctly. There is something/connection that God wants. I smiled when I heard that he is my VIP. I have a confession: I normally won't get too close until the person is comfortable. There is an answer but private to him.
I am so inspired to know that VM is from Harvey because my family history and roots are from there. I was partially raised in Harvey, Illinois. Anyone from Harvey knows that today, it is anything but inspiring, though it once was. The Dells were from Harvey and they also attended Thornton High School. Near the little league park, a street is named after the Dells. It’s called Dells Way. My family’s house was on Lexington one block away from the little league park. It was once known as the flower house because the entire front yard and side of the house were full of flowers planted by my grandmother. My dad attended Thornton High School with the Dells. He also sang with them prior to them signing to Motown. Interestingly enough I am an up and coming recording artist with music soon to be released. I am grateful for VM sharing his phenomenal music throughout the years and his amazing testimony on this podcast. Thank you Willie Moore Junior for all the awesome interviews you’re doing. I wish you both continued success.
Wow didn’t know of the person who sang 🎶 Nobody Greater 🎶 I just have always known the song but not until this past year when I finally truly surrendered to His will did it really hit my soul 🥹👏🏾🙌🏾🙏🏾
This conversation was definitely an eye-opener. As a first-time watcher, I enjoyed the transparency that Vashawn gave during this interview. Being in my early to mid-twenties, I am constantly discovering more about myself as the days go by. Great interview!
This interview was soooo awesome. So enlightening. Therapy in the black community needs to be more of it. We hold on to things, we need to let go, deal with it, move forward. Vashawn Mitchell is a great singer. Loved the video at the beginning. I listened to you on the radio never seen you in person. I’ve shared this with family and subscribed. “Side note- you are handsome.
I love the promotion of believers seeking mental health services to heal! As a licensed therapist (LICSW) and survivor of childhood trauma, we need to HEAL!
Yes, “Turning around for me” is still getting me through today🙏🏽
Vashawn was my minister of music when he was in Chicago. The songs he penned like my worship is for real, silent tears, and nobody greater and so many more go to songs where I find singing when I need it the most. Thank you VM
Love this interview this is the first time I have ever heard VM do a interview. There is always a story behind the glory
right! it’s so good to hear him speak
Absolutely! He has a “pen” and I’ve always wondered what he may have gone thru to come up with some of the words he’s written. Awesome interview!
I love it blessings to you and your family and I love you doing the interviews 😊😊😊😊😊😊
I love every conversation you introduce and inspire and inspiration
Yes VaShan is very quiet and focused, I met him briefly and I noticed how he didn’t mine gracing my team with a photo, he could have walked away. I was too nervous to say anything to him, I didn’t want him to feel overwhelmed, he seemed very humble. Awesome in Christ. ❤❤❤❤
What has this episode taught me…. It’s ok to “not know”. Everyone has a story and a reason. 10/10!!
The Fake Forgiveness and how become functional in the cliche of the church alter ministry. Many people go to the alter and walk away still broken because they are not aware or have the tools to move forward in the forgiveness and healing journey. Truly enjoyed this interview.

You will.
What stuck out the most is it doesn’t matter how old you are it’s still ok not to know/have the answers. And we’re always on a journey🥰
Great Testimony, because that's how we overcome, by the Blood of the Lamb and the words of our testimony... Excellent!!! 😇 No More FAKE Forgiveness, Powerful!!!

It's a beautiful thing when the masculine becomes Divine❤🙏🏾
Dealing with the wounded child is essential in growth and growing into an adult. Helping is a process.
VARSHAWN MITCHELL...Makes the songs that God birthed in you ..makes it even better and greater...🔥🔥💯🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽💃💃💃🎼🎵🎵🎵‼️💖💖
Thank you Willie for having Vashawn, it was great to see him and to hear his story. God is so good and worthy of our Praise 🙌🏾🙏🏾

Great interview, fake forgiveness was real.
I like the quote." Don't out run the pace of grace"
Loving the transparency. Appreciate him saying, "sometimes he wants to be in a relationship and sometimes he doesn't." This is where I am. I'll just enjoy the journey and not worry about it.
This interview is so transparent and real!!! Thank you for sharing your truth with us!
Praying for your healing VARSHAWN as it pertains to Women and in relationships 💖💖💖🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Speak on it, Willie. Never hearing my Mom’s heartbeat made me feel everybody else’s heart. 😢❤
We let the industry tell us ( The World) worship music is a individual.
Bible says:
We are the body of Christ. Though we are many memebers we are one body. Amen
Worship is our spiritual weapon. We fight the schemes and tactics of saten through our worship. Im truly grateful for you, your music and your testimony in this interview. Thank you Willie for your obedience to have this platform and
Thank you so much Vashon for speaking truth and life during this interview 🙏🏼
Fake Forgiveness is worth a self-check up. Good interview.
So much insight into this musical genuis and I love heraring black kings be honest about their childhood issues and how to break free from it !!! God is faithful and I pray my future husband can be real like this.
Thank you for being transparent V.M.🙏 for your continued healing & peace.
WILLIE MOORE 🔥🔥Awesome interviewer 🙏🏽🙏🏽❤️
Thank you for sharing.....thanking God for the opportunity to serve!
Great interview! It was nice hearing more about VM on a personal level.
Meeting an absent parent (as a fully grown adult) really resonated with me and I believe it's something I need to take before the Lord because I feel the same way VM did 😕
Annnnnd...You also hit 🎯 it on the head, when commenting on the State of gospel music now 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽✅✅
I love me some VaShawn Mitchell. His music is so anointing!! I started listening to him in 2011. Just so encouraging and inspiring to me.
Lots of nuggets being spoken Vashon ❤
You said: We are industry driven..
I heard, God created us to bear his image 1st SO HE CAN prepare you for the work. Alot of time you are doing the work (flesh) But without God changing the person(spirit)
Reminds me of your song BE FRUITFUL MULTIPLY ❤
This was an awesome episode! Willie, you are a awesome person with soooo MUCH TALENT ❤ Acting, singing and that swag 😊
Omg what a great interview! Thank you Vashawn for being so transparent. This is going to help bring people to Christ TRUST!❤
I loved the episode with Vishaan Mitchell. His transparency was healing and transformative. I actually shared this with others.
Vashawn Mitchell, you are a blessing. This interview was real, real!! ❤
I would like to see Vashawn and Tina Campbell collaboration... That will be heart touching and soul shaking
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Wow didn’t know of the person who sang 🎶 Nobody Greater 🎶 I just have always known the song but not until this past year when I finally truly surrendered to His will did it really hit my soul 🥹👏🏾🙌🏾🙏🏾
I love that Willie Moore gave Pastor Hannah a shout out ~ #NewLife 🎉🎉🎉
All I want to say is thank you. Thank you for the powerful word at the end of the show. That really touched me.
This conversation was definitely an eye-opener. As a first-time watcher, I enjoyed the transparency that Vashawn gave during this interview. Being in my early to mid-twenties, I am constantly discovering more about myself as the days go by.
Great interview!
This opening commentary spoke directly to me. I haven't even watched the whole interview.
I'm listening to Nobody Greater at 46. Bee. Years listening and loving it
This is a very good interview I’m going to share it with my son I use to listen to Vashawn Mitchell when my son was going through life as a teenager
Wow what a great story thanks for sharing this testimony! Really motivating and inspiring!! God is good!!
Awesome transparency from you both!!!!! Thanks for the real
Thanks Willie for this interview and thanks Vashawn for your transparency. You will continue to touch others through your music. God bless.
